Analogs
Among analogues of Maxilac Baby there are many representatives of synbiotics, pro- and prebiotics. There is no universal substitute for this dietary supplement - they all differ in one or another component - either different active substances or other auxiliary ingredients. However, the therapeutic effect of the analogues is similar to Maxilac.
- Bifidumbacterin is an analogue of Maxilak, the only difference is in the country of manufacture - if the latter is produced in Poland, then Bifidumbacterin is domestic.
- Lactofiltrum - available in tablet form, acts as a sorbent, has more side effects than Maxilac.
- Acipol is a Russian remedy that includes bacteria and fungi; its effect can be compared to the effect of an antibiotic.
- Bifiform is a product from Denmark in capsules that contains a large supply of excipients. The advantage of this drug is its use independent of food, the disadvantage is that it cannot be given to children under two years of age.
Bifidumbacterin
Bifidumbacterin is an expensive analogue of the main drug that effectively fights many pathogenic organisms (enteropathogenic E. coli, some types of yeast-like fungi, staphylococci and anaerobic bacteria Proteus).
The drug is used to treat:
- intestinal dysbiosis (of various etiologies);
- acute intestinal infections and foodborne toxoinfections;
- malabsorption syndrome;
- chronic constipation;
- allergic diseases (with accompanying dysbacteriosis);
- bacterial colpitis and vaginosis.
The drug is also included in complex therapy for the treatment of diseases of the intestines, liver and pancreas (prescribed in the postoperative period).
This analogue is not prescribed to patients with lactase deficiency or intolerance to the component(s) included in the drug. No adverse reactions are observed when using the drug in recommended doses.
The approximate price for this drug is from 77 to 900 rubles (more expensive than the drug Maxilak). Patients note its effectiveness, pleasant taste, safety in use (virtually no side effects). The advantages of this analogue are an expanded list of indications, a small number of contraindications and side effects. The disadvantage is the price.
Release form and composition
“Maxilak” is produced in capsules that are beige in color and have a shell made of vegetable gelatin. They are sold 10 pieces in one pack, packed in one blister. The contents of the capsules are creamy, but the presence of darker inclusions is normal.
Inside each capsule there are more than 4.5 billion microorganisms, representing nine different probiotic cultures. These include bifidobacteria longum, breve and bifidum, as well as lactobacilli rhamnosus, casei, helveticus and plantarum. In addition, the capsules contain lactococci lactis and thermophilic streptococci. All microorganisms were freeze-dried and supplemented with 63 mg of oligofructose.
The inactive ingredients of Maxilac are corn starch, titanium dioxide, alginic acid, shellac, locust bean gum and other compounds. Such substances complement bacteria and prebiotics, and also, using special “Mure” technology, create a shell that is not destroyed by gastric juice.
Separately, the same manufacturer offers a drug called “Maxilak Baby”. It is distinguished by its dosage form, which is presented in portioned sachets. Inside the sachet are microscopic granules containing 1 billion dried microorganisms and 1.43 g of fructooligosaccharides. The only auxiliary ingredient of this product is corn starch. One package includes 10 sachets.
The Baby product also contains nine strains of beneficial bacteria, but their list is slightly different from the composition of Maxilac capsules. They are represented by three species of bifidobacteria (lactis, longum and bifidum) and six species of lactobacilli (rhamnosus GG, paracasei, casei, acidophilus, salivarius and plantarum).
Compound
The product "Maxilak" (the instructions indicate this) contains nine cultures of beneficial microorganisms and oligofructose. The preparation uses the optimal combination of bacteria concentration and nutrient medium. Upon penetration into the body, the complex of components ensures the development of beneficial microorganisms, thereby creating conditions for the death of pathogenic pathogens. Thanks to these properties, the drug is considered one of the most effective means for normalizing the balance of intestinal microflora. One capsule contains 4.5 billion beneficial microorganisms. This means that to maintain and stabilize the microflora, a single dose per day is sufficient. The drug contains four cultures of lactobacilli, 1 streptococcus, 1 lactococcus, 3 bifidobacteria. 7 out of 9 components are present in the normal microflora of the digestive system and perform the functions of the natural beneficial environment of the intestine, its small and thick sections. The remaining components of the drug are not contained in the natural microflora. However, they effectively suppress the activity of pathogens of a wide range of diseases that occur not only in the digestive, but also in the immune, respiratory and other systems.
Indications
Taking into account the properties of the drug, “Maxilak” and “Maxilak Baby” are prescribed:
- to normalize the balance of microflora after taking antibacterial, antifungal and other drugs with a negative effect on the gastrointestinal tract;
- as an auxiliary drug for constipation, diarrhea, flatulence, belching, nausea and other symptoms of dyspepsia;
- to restore the normal composition of the bacterial flora after an intestinal infection;
- to prevent digestive disorders when moving or changing diet;
- to strengthen nonspecific immunity during the ARVI season;
- to compensate for the lack of beneficial bacteria in food, if a child refuses fermented milk products, has no appetite or has a monotonous diet.
Recommendations
As a dietary supplement - a source of probiotic microorganisms, including:
- as an adjuvant for functional intestinal disorders, including: diarrhea (diarrhea), dyspepsia (indigestion), constipation, flatulence (bloating), nausea, belching, vomiting, abdominal pain;
- as an adjuvant during and/or after taking medications that may cause changes in the qualitative or quantitative composition of the gastrointestinal microflora;
- as a preventive measure for intestinal disorders during climate change and place of stay;
- during a period of increased susceptibility to infection.
Instructions for use
After opening the bag and pouring the granules into a warm liquid, “Maxilak Baby” is given to the child during feeding once a day. The product can be stirred in milk/formula or water, the temperature of which does not exceed +40 degrees. Children under 2 years old are prescribed the contents of one sachet per day, and patients over two years old should be given granules from 2 sachets at once.
Maxilak capsules are given to young patients over three years old, also once a day. It is best to take this remedy during one of your meals (the manufacturer recommends taking the medicine in the evening). A single dose for children is usually one capsule, but taking into account the disease, the dosage can be adjusted by the pediatrician.
For children under 5 years of age or older patients who have difficulty swallowing solid forms of medications, it is acceptable to open the capsule and pour its contents into warm milk or water.
The duration of taking Maxilac should be checked with your doctor, but the minimum period of use is 10 days. If the drug is used for treatment, it is stopped after the disappearance of painful symptoms. For prophylactic purposes, the drug is usually prescribed in courses of 1 month. If necessary, such courses are repeated two to three times a year. If “Maxilak” is used to prevent dysbiosis under the influence of drugs, then the symbiotic should be taken for as long as the course of treatment lasts.
Pharmacodynamics
When administered parenterally, the drug component is quickly and completely absorbed mainly in the small intestine and duodenum. Only 11 hours after use, cocarboxylase is eliminated from the body. During the study of the drug, it was possible to find out that it is found in all tissues, and is especially abundant in the liver, heart and brain.
Cocarboxylase helps glucose to be absorbed and the cardiovascular organs to function normally. Also, the main component helps improve tissue nutrition. Its lack provokes the accumulation of acids, and acidosis develops and its consequence is acidotic coma. Cocarboxylase is most often recommended in the presence of pathologies during which endogenous deficiency is observed.
Analogs
Today there are many drugs on the market that have similar therapeutic effects. Analogs of "Maxilak" include:
- "Bifidumbacterin Forte" - available in capsule form, produced by a Russian company. The drug is active against many pathogens. Normalizes the activity of the gastrointestinal tract. It is often prescribed for the treatment of intestinal infections, as well as as a prophylaxis after surgical interventions on the digestive organs.
- “Lactofiltrum” is a combined remedy that restores intestinal microflora, removes toxins, allergens, heavy metal salts, cholesterol and urea. It has a therapeutic effect similar to Maxilak. Often prescribed for hepatitis and cirrhosis of the liver. Used in children from one year of age.
- "Acipol" - contains kefir grains and acidophilus bacteria. The product has a positive effect on the immune system and normalizes the activity of the gastrointestinal tract. It is prescribed for dysbacteriosis and enterocolitis. Can be used from three months of age.
- "Bifiform" - available in capsule form. Beneficial bacteria stop the growth and reproduction of harmful microbes and normalize the functionality of the digestive organs. Approved for use from two years of age.

Form, composition, packaging
As a biologically active food supplement, Maxilac Baby is a powder that is recommended for oral administration. It is packaged in sachets of one and a half grams and distributed in tens per package.
The dietary supplement contains prebiotic components called fructooligosaccharides in combination with lyophilisate of probiotic bacteria. The composition of the drug is supplemented with corn starch to the required volume.
Storage period and conditions
Storage conditions for Maxilak Baby are protection from ultraviolet radiation and a temperature comfortable for bacteria up to 25 degrees. Sealed bags can be stored for up to one and a half years without allowing children to see them.
After the expiration date indicated on the package of dietary supplements, the drug loses its effectiveness.
Pharmacology
The effect of the drug on the body in pharmacological terms is to normalize the intestinal microflora.
Being one of the largest defense systems in the body, the intestine has its own special microflora, which helps solve many problems: stimulates the immune system, protects the intestine itself from pathogens, participates in the prevention of allergic reactions and inflammation, enhances the production of interferons, reduces the development of intoxications in the body and accompanies the synthesis of a number of vitamins and folic acid.
Under the influence of many factors, beneficial microflora is often disrupted, which requires its restoration. Symptoms of this disease can be various pathogenic phenomena:
- in the form of diarrhea;
- pain in any area of the abdomen;
- digestive disorders;
- discomfort in the intestines;
- constipation;
- bloating;
- belching;
- nausea and vomiting;
In order to successfully solve the problem of restoring beneficial microflora, you should take appropriate medications called probiotics, prebiotics and synbiotics.
- A probiotic is a complex of living microorganisms that are representatives of the bacteria that inhabit the intestines. By their presence, they correct bifidobacteria and lactobacilli in the places where they are localized.
- A prebiotic is a set of food components, mainly oligosaccharides, that can promote the growth and development of beneficial intestinal microflora. Their field is the large intestine.
- A synbiotic is a combination drug that contains both complexes. Its mission is to have a mutually reinforcing effect on metabolic processes in the body.
Pharmakinetics
The presence of lactobacilli in the drug helps suppress pathogenic microflora and its growth, enhance the protective function and strengthen the immune system through natural healing.
Bifidobacteria play the role of participating in the synthesis of many substances necessary for the body: amino acids, vitamins and proteins. They also enhance the absorption of vitamin D, as well as iron and calcium ions.
Fructooligosaccharides stimulate the proliferation of beneficial bacteria and inhibit the development of pathogens. With their participation, the intestines are naturally cleansed of toxins and toxic contaminants, which helps improve its functioning. Effective stimulation of peristalsis occurs, preventing diarrhea or constipation. The functions of the gastrointestinal tract are gradually normalized.
Description and instructions for the drug Maxilak
Maxilac is a dietary supplement that is described as a symbiotic. Namely, it contains both bacteria necessary for the normal functioning of human digestion and substances (sugars) that also maintain the health of the microflora. This food supplement contains the following microorganisms:
- Lactobacilli and lactococci;
- Bifidobacteria;
- Streptococci (not those that cause diseases, but a culture that is constantly present in the intestines and performs important functions of suppressing pathogenic bacteria and metabolism);
In total, Maxilac contains nine different bacterial cultures.
Digestive health, as we know, depends not only on the condition of the digestive tract. The microorganisms that populate the large intestine also play an important role. Without them, the normal functioning of this final stage of digestion is impossible.
Therefore, in case of weakness or insufficiency of one’s own microflora, such a massive “population” of the intestines is required. For example, if you were treated with strong antibiotics, the side effect may be the death of beneficial bacteria. Also, poisoning, decreased immunity, and improper diet can undermine the state of the microflora.
Maxilak is used for:
- Supporting the body during and after using antibiotics;
- Any digestive disorders associated with inhibition of one’s own microflora;
The release form of Maxilak is capsules. They should be taken one per day with meals. The instructions for the drug Maxilak emphasize that when using it for children, you need to coordinate the use of the supplement with your doctor. You can drink this dietary supplement for a month.
Maxilac is contraindicated for:
- His intolerance;
- Treatment of children in the first three years of life (younger patients cannot take capsules);
Side effects of Maxilac
Since this product is just a dietary supplement, it is not studied as thoroughly as medications. In this regard, the description of Maxilak does not mention possible side effects.
Characteristic
Dietary supplement Maxilak is a freeze-dried strain of probiotic bacteria, so the color of the substance in the capsule can be light or dark cream. It is acceptable to have darker, brown or black color shades of the capsule contents. This coloring occurs as a result of the encapsulation process and is not a deviation from the norm.
The production uses MURE capsule protection technology (Multi Resistant Encapsulation - a capsule resistant to multiple factors). The bacteria present in Maxilac are protected from the acidic contents of gastric juice, bile salts and digestive enzymes. Most of the probiotic bacteria enter the intestines and are not destroyed in the stomach, which has a positive effect on the restoration of the gastrointestinal microflora.
Maxilak during pregnancy
You can take Maxilac capsules without any restrictions, since the drug is safe and does not have a negative effect on the growth and development of the fetus. Pregnant women take Maxilac to eliminate the same conditions or diseases as men or non-pregnant representatives of the fairer sex.
To eliminate constipation, Maxilac is recommended to take 1 capsule per day in courses lasting 10–15 days. Such courses are repeated after 15–20 days if necessary. To treat irritable bowel syndrome, Maxilac is also taken 1 capsule per day for 20 to 30 days in combination with other medications.
To eliminate dysbacteriosis and after illnesses, it is recommended to take 1 capsule per day for 10 – 30 days. Moreover, the duration of the course of treatment depends on the speed of normalization of intestinal function.
If a pregnant woman takes antibiotics, antiviral or antifungal agents, then simultaneously with them, to prevent dysbiosis and speed up recovery, it is recommended to drink Maxilac 1 capsule per day.
That is, lactic acid bacteria from the colon constantly maintain the population of such bacteria in the vagina, preventing dysbiosis from forming. Accordingly, if normal microflora is not maintained in the intestines, then lactic acid bacteria, which also help maintain normal biocenosis and prevent dysbiosis, do not migrate into the vagina.
Therefore, for the prevention and treatment of relapses of thrush in pregnant women, it is very important to maintain the normal state of the intestinal microflora. This is exactly what Maxilac is used for.
Practicing gynecologists recommend taking Maxilak 1 - 2 capsules per day during the entire course of treatment for thrush.
Then, to prevent relapses, it is optimal to take Maxilac 1 capsule per day for the first 10 days of each month. This option of using Maxilak allows you to minimize the number of relapses of thrush and their severity.

Which drug to choose
What is better: “Maxilak” or “Linex”? This question is often asked by parents whose children have dysbiosis. Despite the fact that today there are quite a lot of remedies that help get rid of disorders of the digestive tract, it can be difficult to choose the safest and most effective. Experts recommend not to self-medicate, especially if it concerns children, but to seek help from doctors and listen to their feedback. Doctors speak generally positively about Maxilak. The drug is safe, has a minimum of contraindications and can be prescribed in cases where other means are not recommended. However, the supplement has a drawback - an age limit. Therefore, if you need to cope with dysbiosis that has arisen in a baby, it is better to choose the Linex product. If you have difficulty swallowing the capsule, it can be opened and the contents mixed with liquid or food. In addition, in the drug all cultures of beneficial bacteria are collected in the required concentration, which allows you to quickly and safely eliminate the symptoms of dysbiosis. However, Linex is not recommended for those with hypersensitivity to dairy products. Both drugs are allowed for use during pregnancy. However, the use of any drug should be supervised by a specialist. The cost of the Linex product ranges from 250-500 rubles. For children, it is recommended to purchase the drug in powder form.
Pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics
Cocarboxylase is a coenzyme that is formed in the human body from vitamin B1. It is part of a significant number of intracellular enzymes that catalyze the breakdown of organic substances with the participation of oxygen (tissue respiration processes) and energy utilization.
First of all, such processes include carboxylation and decarboxylation of pyruvic acid and keto acids, the synthesis of nucleic bases, which are the structural basis of DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) and RNA (ribonucleic acid), proteins and lipids.
By
Why is it important
MURE protects the beneficial bacteria of MAXILAC from the effects of aggressive environmental factors, stabilizes and preserves their activity in the acidic environment of the stomach, gives them the opportunity to better adapt in the intestinal lumen, which guarantees the high biological activity and effectiveness of MAXILAC.
Normally, the number of microorganisms in the gastrointestinal tract (GIT) increases from the stomach to the large intestine
That is why, in the event of any microflora disturbances, it is very important that beneficial bacteria reach the site of the pathological focus. However, aggressive environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, etc.) can negatively affect the activity of the probiotic
Moreover, when they enter the body, beneficial bacteria encounter at least 3 barriers: the acidic environment of gastric juice, bile salts and pancreatic enzymes, under the influence of which beneficial bacteria can die.
The effectiveness of MAXILAC and MURE was confirmed in the study “In vitro comparative study of stability and disintegration of capsules produced with the use of the MURE technology versus other probiotic capsules, in simulated gastric environment. Jacek Piątek, MD, PhD, Chair of Human Physiology of the Korol Marcinkowski Medical University in Poznań, Poland" (“Comparative study of the stability of capsules produced using MURE technology and other probiotic capsules under conditions replicating the acidic environment of the stomach)

Characteristics and description of the drug
According to the instructions and numerous reviews, “Maxilak” for children is a synbiotic, which is a combination of probiotics and prebiotics. It helps normalize the intestinal microflora in children from four months of age. This is the only drug that contains nine cultures of beneficial microbes that are necessary for the child’s intestines, in a concentration of 1 billion CFU. It is produced in the form of a powder for oral administration, packaged in a sachet in an amount of 1.5 grams. One package contains ten sachets.
The medicine can also be available in capsule form. One package contains ten capsules. Each of them contains granules that protect them from the effects of external and internal environmental factors, including gastric juice, bile salts, and digestive enzymes. Beneficial bacteria thus enter directly into the intestines without dissolving in the stomach. There they take root, maintaining their biological activity.
Granules can have a light cream or dark cream color, dark and even black shades are acceptable. This is not a deviation from the norm.
The composition of the drug "Maxilak" is as follows:
- Lactobacilli - 0.7 x 109 CFU.
- Bifidobacteria - 0.3 x 109 CFU.
- Fructooligosaccharides – 1.43 grams.
- Corn starch – 0.05 grams.
"Maxilak" indications for use are as follows:
- Intestinal disorder.
- Indigestion.
- Constipation.
- Bloating.
- Therapy with certain medications.
- Seasonal surges of infectious diseases.
- Normalization of intestinal microflora.
- Artificial feeding.
- Use of caesarean section during childbirth.
- Prevention of intestinal disorders during climate change.
Indications
Indications for use are: taking antibacterial drugs, NSAIDs, feeding newborn babies with artificial formulas and diarrhea due to infections. Antibacterial drugs destroy not only pathogenic forms of microorganisms, but also the intestinal’s own bacteria. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs can cause inflammatory processes and erosions. Diarrhea is frequent acts of defecation, most of which are loose stools, as a result of which “washes out” not only pathogenic, but also normal flora from the surface of the mucosa.
One of the options for solving these problems and “reinforcing” the intestines with new bacteria is to take synbiotics, where the probiotic is the living normal human flora, and the prebiotic is carbohydrates to normalize processes.
It is the only dietary supplement containing nine beneficial cultures of microorganisms. It is perfect for children and can be taken from four months of age. A special feature of this dietary supplement is that the synbiotic does not contain casein protein or preservatives, which makes it hypoallergenic. In addition, the dietary supplement is used even in individuals with lactose intolerance.
Maxilac capsules and sachets are produced in this form due to better digestibility - living normal flora goes straight into the intestines, where they perform their function.
Children should take dietary supplements under the following conditions:
- Intestinal disorders such as constipation, diarrhea, increased gas formation, nausea, vomiting, belching;
- Taking antibiotics, anti-inflammatory non-steroidal drugs;
- Against the background of the course of infectious diseases with a predominant involvement of the gastrointestinal tract in the process.
In addition, Maxilac can be taken in adolescence during the period of acne - since this disease is caused by bacteria.
Indications for use
- diarrhea, dysbacteriosis of any etiology, dysentery;
- colic;
- frequent regurgitation, vomiting, nausea;
- to restore the intestinal microflora in premature or infected children during childbirth, as well as in those born by cesarean section;
- with a sharp transition to artificial feeding, introduction of the first complementary foods;
- for quick acclimatization when changing climatic conditions;
- poisoning;
- infectious bacterial diseases of the gastrointestinal tract;
- prevention of food allergies;
- to improve intestinal motility;
- constipation, including prolonged ones;
- in the complex treatment of chronic diseases of the gastrointestinal tract;
- during periods of seasonal surges of respiratory and infectious diseases;
- in the treatment of dermatitis;
- flatulence;
- to prevent microflora disturbances during treatment with anti-inflammatory, antifungal drugs, antibiotics, and chemotherapy sessions.
Thanks to the special technology used in the production of the biological product, microorganisms are not exposed to the fermented milk environment and enter the intestines unchanged.
Operating principle
The lactobacilli present in the preparation help in the absorption of lactose and inhibit the growth of harmful microbes. Bifidobacteria also have properties to inhibit pathogenic microflora. In addition, such microorganisms improve wall digestion. Thanks to the presence of oligofructose, the reproduction of beneficial flora is stimulated, and the functions of the gastrointestinal tract are improved.
The combination of beneficial bacteria with oligofructose/fructooligosaccharides leads to the following positive changes:
- normalization of the balance of normal intestinal microbial flora;
- improved digestion;
- preventing constipation;
- assistance in the fight against pathogenic and opportunistic microbes;
- strengthening the immune system;
- improvement of skin condition;
- reducing the risk of diarrhea resulting from taking antibiotics.
Reviews
"Maxilak" for children generally has good reviews. Many parents give the drug to their children, but only after consulting a pediatrician. It is highly effective, copes well with constipation, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and helps normalize intestinal microflora.
Parents also note that it is convenient to give it to children with milk or water. The product does not contain any foreign impurities, does not cause adverse reactions, and has virtually no contraindications. It is convenient to use and also store.
Often, adults use this medicine for digestive disorders. It helps to cope well with the negative symptoms that develop after a course of antibiotic therapy. The product helps to normalize the activity of the gastrointestinal tract in a short time.
Some use the drug in the treatment of atopic dermatitis to improve the condition of the skin. In this case, patients take it in courses every six months.
Some consumers note the high cost of the medicine.
Therapeutic effects of Maxilac
The therapeutic effects of Maxilak and Maxilak Baby are the same, and are due to the probiotic bacteria and prebiotic oligofructose they contain. Capsules and powder have the following therapeutic effects on the body of children and adults:
- Improved digestion;
- Eliminate constipation by improving peristalsis;
- Suppression of the growth of pathogenic microflora (bacteriostatic effect);
- Normalization of intestinal microflora.
Capsules and powder Maxilak and Maxilak Baby help restore normal intestinal microflora, populating it with the necessary bifidobacteria and lactobacilli and, thereby, provide all of the above therapeutic effects.
, rumbling, allergic rashes, etc.
Normal intestinal microflora ensures proper digestion of food, effective absorption of nutrients and vitamins, and also prevents allergic atopic dermatitis, improves immunity and reduces intoxication.
Maxilac powder and capsules restore normal intestinal microflora in children and adults, regardless of the cause of dysbiosis. The drug is effective for restoring microflora after diarrhea, as well as a course of antibiotics, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and antifungals.
When taking Maxilac simultaneously with drugs from these groups, their negative impact on the intestinal microflora is neutralized, that is, after completing the course of therapy, a person does not develop dysbiosis.
That is, when taking Maxilac, a person receives not only bacteria of normal microflora, but also a substance that is optimally suited for their nutrition. And that is why Maxilak’s probiotic bacteria take root so well in the intestines and quickly restore the microflora.
Lactobacilli contained in Maxilak and Maxilak Baby are capable of breaking down lactose, so this drug is very useful for people suffering from lactase deficiency, intolerance to milk or dairy products.
In principle, Maxilac capsules and powder for the prevention of dyspepsia can be taken if you are lactose intolerant after eating any foods containing milk sugar. Bifidobacteria in Maxilac inhibit the growth of pathogenic bacteria, improve immunity and food digestion.
Oligofructose accelerates the proliferation of bacteria of normal microflora and inhibits the growth of pathogenic microbes, including those that enter the intestines from the outside, thereby effectively curing intestinal infections. In addition, oligofructose helps remove toxins from the intestines, stimulates peristalsis, and prevents constipation and diarrhea.
Maxilak and Maxilak Baby as side effects can only provoke allergic reactions, manifested
and rashes on the skin of the body.

If necessary, you can replace Maxilac with an analogue for therapeutic action - these are the following drugs:
- Bactisubtil,
- Atsipol,
- Biosporin,
- Bifiform,
- Bifidumbacterin,
- Bifiliz,
- Linux.
Store in a place protected from light and moisture, out of reach of children, at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C, in unopened packaging. Does not require storage in the refrigerator. Shelf life – 2 years.
Features of application
During complex treatment of any disease, it is worth considering the ability of the main component to activate the cardiotonic activity of drugs from the group of cardiac glycosides. In the presence of atrial fibrillation, intravenous administration of the drug is prohibited.
During pregnancy
For ethical reasons, clinical studies on the effect of cocarboxylase on pregnant, lactating women and their babies have not been conducted. For this reason, it is not recommended to use this drug during this period.
Reaction
How Cocarboxylase affects the reaction rate while driving a car or working with other mechanisms is unknown, because manufacturers have not studied this issue.
Hilak forte
Characteristics
- As you remember, this is a metabiotic. Contains metabolites of four bacteria.
- Hilak forte shifts the intestinal pH to the acidic side. This disrupts the growth and development of pathogenic bacteria.
- The drug also has an anti-inflammatory effect.
- It can be recommended simultaneously with an antibiotic.
- Children from birth.
- Do not dilute with dairy products.
My opinion. I have not seen any miracles from him in my practice. I would recommend it either for minor problems with the gastrointestinal tract (bloating, discomfort), or together with an antibiotic to prevent diarrhea, or in combination with other drugs.
Battle of bacteria: how probiotics help the gut
For proper functioning, the digestive tract must be populated with beneficial microflora. These bacteria are indispensable helpers necessary for human health. Without them, the intestines will not work - just as, for example, a big boss cannot cope without his secretary, accountant, economist and human resources department. But if there is not enough beneficial bacteria on its own, the big boss has to hire new specialists. This is what probiotics are for. In the capsule, as if in a hiring agency, unemployed bacteria are waiting in the wings, ready to restore the microbial balance in the intestines - for an agreed payment in the form of food and shelter.
We have studied how the bacteria in the preparations Maxilak and Linex work and are ready to teach you the intricacies of this process.
Maxilac
The effect of the drug is due to its constituent components:
- Bifidobacteria are frontline warriors. They suppress the growth of pathogenic flora and restore the balance of microorganisms in the intestines. Strengthen the protective properties of the mucous membrane, activate metabolic processes and normalize digestion. Increases the body's overall resistance to infectious diseases - stimulates the immune system.
- Lactobacilli and lactic acid bacteria are rear workers. They participate in the regulation of metabolic processes, stimulate intestinal contractility and strengthen the immune system. Suppress the development of food allergies, facilitate the absorption of nutrients - vitamin D and calcium.
- Fructooligosaccharides are a breeding ground for the right bacteria. They accelerate the reproduction and development of beneficial microorganisms and suppress the activity of pathogenic flora.
Beneficial bacteria inside the Maxilac capsule are protected using special SFERA (Surrounded Freeze Release Armor) technology. This is comprehensive protection through freezing and slow release. This technology allows microorganisms to remain functional for a long time, including under conditions of high humidity and temperature. It is not necessary to store capsules in the refrigerator - any dark and dry place with a temperature no higher than 25°C will do.
The innovative DRcaps capsule protects beneficial bacteria not only from light and heat. It does not allow microflora to die in the aggressive environment of the stomach and dissolve under the influence of bile salts. Under the protection of the capsule, bacteria enter the intestine intact, easily adapt and take root in its lumen. This ensures high biological activity of the synbiotic Maxilac.
Linex
The bacteria that make up the drug work like this:
- They shift the intestinal pH to the acidic side due to the fermentation of lactose. An acidic environment suppresses the growth of pathogenic and opportunistic flora and accelerates the development of beneficial bacteria.
- Activate the synthesis of digestive enzymes and facilitate the digestion of food.
- Stimulates the functioning of the digestive tract.
- Activate local and general immunity, increase the body's resistance to infections.
- Participate in the synthesis of vitamin K and C, bile pigments and acids.
They have weak antibacterial activity.
Linex cannot boast of a super-stable capsule. There is evidence in the medical literature that barely half of the active bacteria reaches the intestines. The manufacturer does not comment on this fact: no data on pharmacokinetics (the route of the drug in the body) is provided.
Probiotic Maxilak
According to the pharmacological classification, Maxilac capsules belong to probiotic agents for normalizing the microflora of the digestive tract. The active component of the composition are special bacteria that populate the intestines and restore its condition and functionality. There is a different type of medicine for adults and children.

pharmachologic effect
Synbiotic Maxilac is a biologically active food supplement that contains pro- and prebiotics. Consumption helps restore the intestinal microflora, which is responsible for local and specific cellular immunity and prevents the development of allergies and diarrhea. Probiotics are microorganisms that have a beneficial effect by normalizing the composition or increasing the activity of microflora. Prebiotics are distinguished by their selective stimulation of the growth of normal microflora.
The synbiotic contains 9 cultures with a total number of 4.5 billion CFU. Lactobacilli in the preparation suppress the growth of pathogenic microflora, process lactose into simple sugars, and support normal processes of parietal digestion. Oligofructose stimulates the proliferation of beneficial bacterial cells, helps the intestines clear of toxins, stimulates peristalsis and is a means of preventing constipation, flatulence and diarrhea.
Indications for use
The erroneous name of the capsules is Maxilac tablets. Their instructions for use indicate the following indications:
- prevention of intestinal disorders when changing climate and place of stay;
- normalization of pathogenic microflora of the gastrointestinal tract and intestines during or after taking drugs that change its numerical or qualitative composition;
- an auxiliary component of therapy for functional digestive disorders, dyspepsia;
- seasonal surges of infectious diseases.
Probiotic action
The medicine "Bak-Set Forte" has the following effects on the body:
- restores the balance of beneficial and harmful bacteria in the intestines;
- increases the body's resistance to infections;
- acts as an antispasmodic and mild laxative;
- improves digestion;
- suppresses the growth of pathogenic microorganisms in the gastrointestinal tract;
- strengthens the mucous membrane of the stomach and intestines;
- normalizes metabolism;
- stimulates the production of proteins, vitamins and beneficial amino acids.
This drug belongs to the new generation of probiotics. It works much more efficiently and quickly than products containing only one type of beneficial microorganisms.
In what cases is it recommended to use
The instructions for use recommend using the drug "Lactoflor" not only for the treatment of various diseases, but also for preventive measures. Most often, doctors recommend this remedy to patients who have problems with the digestive system. This may include increased gas production, diarrhea or constipation. However, most often Lactoflor is prescribed for intestinal dysbiosis. In addition, the drug can be prescribed in the following cases:
- during long-term use of antibiotics, as well as chemical and hormonal drugs;
- in the presence of bacterial and viral diseases of the digestive system;
- with weakened immunity;
- during pregnancy, as well as during breastfeeding;
- for problems with the microflora of the female genital organs.
Of course, consult your doctor before taking Lactoflor medicine. Instructions for use and price also encourage patients to begin treatment on their own. No matter how you are treated, find out all the information about this remedy.
Normobact L
Characteristics
- Contains only one bacterium, but what a bacterium! Last time I already told you about Lactobacillus rhamnosus strain GG, which during the preparation of these articles I managed to love like my own: smart, beautiful, athlete, Komsomol member.
- Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG has flagella, which makes it easy to cling to intestinal cells.
- Resistant to acids, bile, enzymes, antibiotics, it perfectly prevents and copes with antibiotic-associated diarrhea.
- Has a pronounced immunomodulatory effect.
- Effective for skin problems: atopic dermatitis, eczema, food allergies.
- There are 4 billion bacteria in the sachet.
- Normobact L is given from 1 month.
I suspect that other Normobacts are leftovers in pharmacies, since only one product is presented on the website: Normobact L, which can outshine all other forms.
My opinion: good composition, decent characteristics. Normobact can be recommended for various stool disorders, together with antibiotics, and Normobact L plus this for atopic dermatitis, food allergies, and frequent acute respiratory viral infections.
What's better
It is recommended that infants take Bak-Set Baby from the first days of life; the dietary supplement can be dissolved in milk, water, juice or baby food. Maxilac Baby is approved for patients older than 4 months; it can be dissolved in milk or warm water. Children over 3 years old are recommended to take dietary supplements in capsules. If the child is not able to swallow it, then preference should be given to the dietary supplement Bak-set Forte, since its capsule can be opened and the contents combined with any non-alcoholic drink. Also, patients over 2 years of age, including adults, if they cannot swallow the capsule, can take Maxilac Baby.
Otherwise, Maxilak and Bak-set are interchangeable, but despite this, you should not replace one dietary supplement with another on your own, since only a doctor can assess the feasibility of this and select an adequate dosage regimen.

Patients' opinions
You can find many positive reviews about “Bak-Set Forte” from patients. This drug has a faster effect than many other probiotics. Within 2 - 3 days after taking this remedy, stools normalize, abdominal pain and flatulence disappear. In addition, the drug is easy to use; to achieve a therapeutic effect, it is enough to take one capsule per day.
Parents of young patients also leave positive reviews about Back-Set Forte. This remedy is often used in pediatric practice for poisoning, constipation and diarrhea. After a course of treatment, intestinal disorders in children disappeared and digestion improved. The children’s immunity also strengthened and they became less likely to get ARVI and influenza.
Women are often prescribed this remedy for vaginal dysbiosis. This pathology often occurs against the background of intestinal dysbiosis. Patients note that after the course of treatment their inflammation and discomfort disappeared. The smear showed normalization of microflora and a decrease in pathogenic bacteria.
There are practically no negative reviews about the drug. For most patients, the drug helped normalize the microflora of the gastrointestinal tract. No side effects were noted during treatment. The disadvantages of the probiotic are that patients attribute its rather high price. However, at the same time, people are much more effective than its cheaper counterparts.
Taking probiotics during antibacterial treatment
Translated from Greek, probiotic means “for life,” antibiotic means “against life.” These two groups of drugs produce opposite effects. The action of probiotics is aimed at the growth and reproduction of beneficial microorganisms, and antibiotics are aimed at destroying all bacteria, regardless of whether they are good or pathogenic.
Note! Probiotics restore intestinal microflora. They are useful to use after taking antibiotics.
When treating bacterial diseases, the intestinal microflora is disrupted. Therefore, drinking probiotics while taking antibiotics is not only necessary, but necessary. They populate the intestines with living bacteria, prevent the occurrence of dysbacteriosis, diarrhea, and also:
- abdominal pain, bloating, increased gas formation;
- allergies in the form of itching, urticaria, angioedema and anaphylactic shock;
- reducing the body's defenses;
- candidiasis.
The most common consequence of treatment for bacterial diseases is antibiotic-associated diarrhea - stool disorder that recurs for two or more days. It is dangerous for humans, since in this condition the gastrointestinal tract does not absorb vitamins and minerals.
Probiotics should be taken simultaneously with antibiotics from the first days of treatment. And after completing the course, you need to continue taking it and not stop until the body’s defenses are completely restored.

Probiotic preparations are of the following types:
- Monocomponent. Contains one strain of beneficial bacteria (bifidobacteria, lactobacilli, E. coli, enterococci, etc.
- Multicomponent (symbiotics). They contain several types of living microorganisms.
- Synbiotics. Preparations containing pre- and probiotics.
- Multiprobiotics. They contain more than 7 strains of bacteria.
It is difficult to answer which medications are better. After all, it is necessary to take into account not only the number of strains, but also their concentration, survival in the acidic environment of the stomach, release form, and shelf life of the drug.
But most doctors recommend taking multicomponent probiotics with prebiotics together with antibiotics. They increase each other's efficiency.
Note! Prebiotics are compounds that feed living microorganisms. They are necessary for the growth and reproduction of beneficial flora.
After the end of treatment, you can not change the product containing beneficial bacteria, but continue to use it.
Common features of the drugs
There is a lot in common between dietary supplements:
- Dietary supplements have general indications for use . They can be drunk in case of dysbacteriosis, infectious intestinal diseases, poisoning, indigestion and stool retention, when introducing complementary foods, switching to formula, nutritional allergies, atopic dermatitis, digestive problems caused by teething, changing the menu and diet, for example, when visiting kindergarten, during the trip. They can be drunk in case of digestive disorders, which are manifested by spasms and pain in the digestive tract, bloating, nausea, vomiting, and belching. Taking certain medications increases the risk of dysbacteriosis; in this case, dietary supplements can be taken in combination with them. The intestinal microflora is disrupted by taking antibiotics, which simultaneously affect not only the pathogenic microflora, but also beneficial bacteria. Undesirable reactions from the digestive tract, such as loss of appetite, nausea, loose stools, constipation, bloating, and abdominal pain, are caused by taking antifungal medications. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, including medications containing paracetamol, can cause damage to the mucous membrane of the digestive tract and cause inflammation, ulcers and erosions. To reduce the risk of these unwanted reactions, you can take dietary supplements containing probiotics and prebiotics.
- Dietary supplements do not require refrigeration .
- They can be taken by women expecting a baby and breastfeeding.
- The only contraindication to taking dietary supplements is intolerance to their composition, in which case they can cause allergies.
- You can buy them without a prescription not only at the pharmacy, but also in specialized sales departments.
- There were no cases of overdose of dietary supplements.
- Taking dietary supplements does not affect the ability to drive a car and does not slow down the reaction speed.
- Supplements should be stored in a place protected from direct UV rays of the sun, at temperatures up to 25 degrees.
Experts' opinion
Gastroenterologists leave positive reviews about Bak-Set Forte. According to experts, this remedy effectively eliminates the imbalance of intestinal microflora. Doctors prescribe probiotics to patients undergoing antibiotic therapy. This helped prevent bowel problems that often occur when taking antibacterial medications.
Experts note the effectiveness of this remedy for diseases of the stomach and intestines. It helped significantly improve the well-being of patients. However, doctors emphasize that in case of serious gastrointestinal pathologies, this remedy should be used only as part of a complex treatment.
Doctors also emphasize the safety of the probiotic. During the course of treatment, the patients did not experience any side effects. If the recommended dosage is followed, the drug does not cause diarrhea.
Precautionary measures
Maxilak and Linex are well tolerated. The instructions for use do not state possible side effects. Only individual intolerance to the components is allowed.
Linex is approved for use during pregnancy and lactation, in children of the first year of life. There is no such data in the instructions for the Maxilak dietary supplement. It is recommended to consult a doctor to clarify this issue.
Maxilak does not contain lactose, gluten or preservatives, therefore it is safe for people with allergies to these components. Gelatin is not used for its production, and the drug is suitable for vegetarians.
How to choose a probiotic
And to conclude our topic, I will outline an algorithm based on MY reasoning and remembering that you need to sell ALL probiotics.
Friends, this is exclusively MY vision. I'm telling you what I would do if I were in your place.
Legend: a/b - antibiotic.
Friends, the list of means for improving microflora in each column, of course, can be supplemented, but I tried to “scatter” these means depending on situations in order to narrow down your choice.
As you can see, the group of funds that we have just discussed expands the possibilities for complex sales, and therefore for increasing the average check.
This concludes my analysis of products for intestinal microflora.

special instructions
The instructions for use of the drug include a paragraph of special instructions from which you can gain new knowledge:
- Before use, consultation with a doctor is required;
- the preparations contain bacteria that effectively break down and digest lactose, so they can be used for lactase deficiency and lactose intolerance;
- the drug reduces the negative impact of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs on the gastric mucosa, increases the effectiveness of gastritis therapy;
- taking the medication does not affect concentration or the state of the central nervous system, therefore, during therapy it is not prohibited to operate machinery or drive a car;
- Over the entire period of clinical use of the drugs, there have been no cases of overdose; the maximum that can develop is diarrhea (if the stool has not returned to normal the next day, the dosage is reduced).
Storage and price
The Bak-Set Forte instructions recommend storing the packaging with capsules at a temperature of no more than +25 degrees. The drug must be placed in a dark place, since under the influence of the sun's rays its active components are destroyed. The medicine can be used for 2 years from the date of release. An expired drug should not be taken, as it loses its medicinal properties.
The probiotic is available from pharmacy chains without a prescription. However, before taking it, you should consult a gastroenterologist. The price of the drug ranges from 370 to 450 rubles for 20 capsules.
