A beautiful and very useful plant grows in our gardens and vegetable gardens - calendula. It is also called marigold because of the shape of the seeds. We can confidently call this bright orange flower a folk flower - it is difficult to find a person who does not know it. There are other names for this plant: at random, core. It is called the “bride of summer” - because of the flower’s ability to turn after the sun. The first Christians called calendula “the gold of Mary” and decorated statues of the Mother of God with it. Calendula helps with diseases of the stomach and intestines.
Is it possible to use calendula for gastritis?
Calendula really helps with gastritis - even in its acute form. It is important to follow your doctor's recommendations and follow a special diet to quickly overcome the disease. If the attack occurs suddenly and the person complains of severe pain in the stomach, this remedy can help him. We are preparing a medicinal mixture of 5 components: calendula (flowers), horsetail (herb), plantain leaves, St. John's wort inflorescences, dill seeds. All of the above components are poured into a container one tablespoon at a time and mixed.

One tablespoon of the prepared mixture is poured with 500 ml of boiling water. Cover the dish with a lid and leave for 1 hour. This time is enough for the drug to infuse well. The cooled infusion is filtered and taken 3/4 cup 10 minutes before meals. Regularity – 3 times a day, and the total course of treatment is 14 days.
In its pure form, calendula tincture also works for gastritis, but chamomile and yarrow help make the treatment more effective. Take a tablespoon of flowers from each medicinal plant and mix them well. Pour a tablespoon of the mixture into a glass of boiling water in a thermos. Leave overnight to allow the medicine to infuse well. Strain in the morning. Drink 1/3 glass daily twenty minutes before meals. The duration of treatment is three weeks.
If for some reason you couldn’t get yarrow or chamomile, you can use a simpler recipe. 2 teaspoons of flowers are poured into 2 cups of boiling water. There is no need to infuse the drug all night - 15 minutes is enough. Then calendula for gastritis with high acidity is filtered and drunk in small portions throughout the day.
For hyperacid gastritis, an infusion from this plant is used, which is prepared as follows: take 15 grams of raw material, pour in 200-300 ml of boiling water and leave in a cool place for 1-1.5 hours. Treatment with infusion is carried out 2-3 times a day before meals.

Natural remedies from calendula for gastritis
Calendula is endowed with special properties that have a beneficial effect on the human digestive system. The plant, as well as preparations that contain marigold extract, kill microorganisms that provoke the occurrence of an inflammatory process in the digestive tract. And this is the main advantage of the discussed representative of the Ukrainian flora.
Calendula infusion for gastritis
We take two teaspoons of dry raw materials and put them in a thermos. Fill the contents of the thermos with half a liter of boiling water. Let the medicine sit for at least ¼ hour. About 60 minutes is better. Let the infusion cool to body temperature and take it orally as an alternative to tea.
Calendula infusion should be taken for chronic gastritis, ⅓ glass a quarter of an hour before meals three times a day.
It is important that the infusion is not too cold or too hot. The body most quickly absorbs the liquid whose temperature is equal to the human body temperature. Otherwise, the body has to waste resources raising the temperature of a drink that is too cold or lowering the temperature of a drink that is too hot. Take calendula infusion for chronic gastritis. Take ⅓ glass a quarter of an hour before meals three times a day. Duration of treatment is three weeks.
Calendula decoction for gastritis
Take two tablespoons of calendula raw material (if necessary, the inflorescences at your disposal should be pre-chopped; this will allow you to correctly measure the amount of raw material). Boil water and pour 200 ml of boiling water over the dry contents of the glass.
We make a water bath: take an aluminum basin or a wide pan, fill it with water, and bring the liquid in the basin to a boil. Then we place a smaller vessel inside the large container. It should be such that if you pour boiling water with calendula into it, it will not “drown” completely in a wider container. The water should reach the sides. This will mean that the water bath is organized correctly.
For acute gastritis, take a decoction of calendula, one tablespoon half an hour after meals three to four times a day.
Boil calendula with water in a water bath for about ¼ hour. Remove the small container from the “bath”, cover with a lid (preferably as tight as possible) and leave for ¾ hours. Add hot water to the resulting broth in such an amount that the original volume of the glass (200 ml) is restored. For acute gastritis (the initial form of the disease), take one tablespoon half an hour after meals three to four times a day. Duration of treatment is two weeks.
Oatmeal with calendula decoction for gastritis
Oatmeal prepared with calendula decoction is suitable for those patients suffering from gastritis who have high stomach acidity. If the acidity, on the contrary, is too low, calendula will not be able to increase it. In this case, instead of marigold decoction, a similar liquid base prepared on the basis of yarrow is used. Take for chronic and acute gastritis once a day for breakfast. Duration of treatment is ten days.
Take a small saucepan and add two tablespoons of dried orange flowers, purchased at the pharmacy or prepared yourself during the season. Pour boiling water over the medicinal raw materials. The volume of water should be equal to a faceted glass. Place the pan on the stove, turn on the minimum heating mode, bring the liquid to a bubbling state and do not remove from the stove for about ⅙ hour.
Oatmeal prepared with calendula decoction is suitable for those patients suffering from gastritis who have increased stomach acidity
Turn off the stove and leave the broth to cool. After an hour, when the mixture has cooled to room temperature, take a sieve and strain the contents of the pan. We throw the remains of the plants into the trash, and use the prepared broth to cook oatmeal. Put the pan on the stove again, put three tablespoons of oatmeal in it and cook until thick. Turn off the stove, leave the porridge to cool a little, then add a little honey to the medicinal dish - this will not only be healthy, but also tasty.
How to use
For treatment with chamomile and calendula to be beneficial, you must follow the instructions recommended by doctors. Not worth it:
- violate the volume of herbs used, their quantity;
- do not adhere to the recommended duration of treatment courses;
- add other herbs not listed in the recipe at your discretion;
- store in inappropriate conditions.
This will not only not help in curing the disease, but, on the contrary, can be harmful to health.
