Why is no lubricant released, not enough lubricant?
Men and women, boys and girls often ask us:
“
Why does a girl produce little lubrication during sex? What to do if there is not enough lubrication during vaginal sex ? Why does a woman have little lubrication during sexual intercourse? Why is very little lubrication released before sex, during sex, after sex, during cunnilingus, during cunnilingus? Why is there pain during sex, I produce little lubrication, no natural lubrication, no lubrication, no lubrication? Why isn’t natural vaginal lubrication flowing, oozing, splashing, or secreting, and why is your wife dry? Why, why is there little lubrication when inserting a penis into the vagina? How to make it so that there is abundant lubrication, there is a lot of lubrication, the lubrication flows, everything squishes?”
How to use lubricants?
When using over-the-counter lubricants and moisturizers, you should always follow the instructions that come with the package.
It is better to start with small portions and then gradually increase them until the expected comfort is observed in the vagina. Some women get the best results when they apply creams several times a day.
Initially, you can try treatment with several types of lubricants. In this case, you need to carefully listen to your body in order to understand which product gives the best effect and causes the least side effects, for example, allergies or increased sensitivity of the body to substances included in lubricants.
Estrogen creams should only be used after consultation with your doctor. Often such creams are prescription. It is very important to strictly follow your doctor's instructions and not deviate from the recommended dosages.
In addition, you need to understand that the effect of estrogen creams in most cases begins to appear only a few weeks after the start of use.

Important Instructions
The first thing you should know and understand is that by the nature, color, smell and consistency it is impossible to completely determine the cause or presence of any disease, but only to assume. In addition, due to the fact that each organism is individual, and some diseases may not manifest themselves as indicated in the reference book, only by the results of tests can the true cause of this kind of discharge be established. Therefore, the information below is not a guide to diagnosis.
In general, this is for general development and you should not self-medicate. Therefore, if a woman’s discharge flows like water, you need to find time and consult a doctor. Otherwise, you can develop something chronic or simply bring it to a state where even the doctor can do little to help.
How to Make Breakfast with Your Vaginal Juice
This idea first came to me when a friend and I were discussing the probiotic properties of the vagina. “Why is there an entire cookbook of recipes based on sperm, and NOT A SINGLE recipe based on vaginal discharge?” my friend wrote to me and other friends.
After that, she took a spoon, a saucepan and a small thermometer, and decided to make yogurt from her vaginal discharge.
Meet Cecilia Westbrook, a friend of mine who is an MD and graduate student at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Before this, we joked about yoghurt made from secretions - corny jokes about the benefits of eating vaginal products. But when we Googled this topic on the Internet, we realized that there was nothing. Nothing. Even in medical literature. Westbrook became curious and began to seriously think about this topic and conduct research. She had no other choice but to try to do everything herself.
Each vagina is home to hundreds of different types of bacteria and microorganisms. These organisms (known as vaginal communities) produce lactic acid, hydrogen peroxide and other substances that keep the vagina healthy. The dominant bacteria are lactobacilli, which humans also use to make cheese, yogurt and other dairy products.
But, Westbrook doesn't make his yogurt just for fun. And, of course, not because she was hungry. She knew enough about vaginal chemistry to be confident that yogurt made from her vaginal juice would be very beneficial to her health. Seriously.
Her first batch of yogurt tasted sour, tangy, and almost tingling on her tongue. She compared it to Indian yogurt and ate it with a few blueberries.
The main value of vaginal juice is the presence of “friendly” bacteria, which, when ingested, help keep our intestines healthy. You've probably seen advertisements about the benefits of probiotic yogurts for your gut. But there are also specific vaginal probiotics available on the market that will help keep your vagina healthy if your “good” bacteria are not enough.
"You can take probiotics orally or suppositories," said Larry Forney, a microbiologist at the University of Idaho. “So you're filling your vagina with extra bacteria. But for some reason no one thinks: Maybe there’s something wrong with the plumbing of the vagina and something is leaking?”
This is how it works in theory. But what could be more useful than taking your own bacteria, multiplying them and then ingesting them, Westbrook argues?
The "collection method" chosen was a wooden spoon. She made three tests: the first with regular yogurt, the second with just pure milk without any additives, and the third with her own yogurt. She left all three to “sour” overnight.
Her first batch of yogurt tasted sour, tangy, and almost tingling on her tongue. She compared it to Indian yogurt, and ate it with a few blueberries. .
In the end, it turned out that this was not the best idea.
Forney states that “when you ingest vaginal secretions, you are not just ingesting lactobacilli. You accept everything that is in these secretions. And it is quite possible that this mixture will not be dominated by lactobacilli, but by pathogenic bacteria that can be dangerous to the body.”
Sometimes this imbalance can lead to yeast infections or other problems. Chances are you wouldn't want this bacteria on your breakfast table. Even healthy vaginas are full of organisms that can cause harm if they are cultured.
"It was a bad idea overall," Forney said. "But there's one good thing about it: she's using bacteria from her vagina."
“Because every woman has a unique balance of bacteria and lactobacilli, the benefits of vaginal probiotics may be questionable. But if companies or universities developed probiotics that were tailored to women's unique vaginal microbial flora, it would be much more effective than what is offered in grocery stores today, Forney explained.
There are health benefits for women from consuming their own secretions, but not in the direct way that Westbrook suggested. “I like what she does, but you have to be careful because these experiments can have negative consequences,” Forney said.
The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) agreed with this approach. As Theresa Eisenman, a spokeswoman for the agency's Center for Food Safety and Nutrition Affairs, said: “Vaginal discharge is not considered a 'food' and can cause human illness. A food product that contains vaginal secretions or other bodily fluids is considered adulterated.”
In other words, we won't be seeing Kiska yogurt on store shelves anytime soon.
Westbrook had already made a second batch when I learned that making yogurt from my vaginal secretions wasn't a good idea. But despite the negative reviews from Forney and the FDA, she is doing well. And it won't grow bacteria anymore.
“In some ways, it's so obvious. Like, of course you can make yogurt from your natural flora. But no one has done this before,” Westbrook said. “Of course, the feminist in me wants to say something about how beautiful it is to connect your body and food, and understand the power of your vagina. There's something hipster about it, but on the other hand, it's so wonderful to collaborate with your own body, given our culture, where women's bodies are clearly undervalued."
Westbrook says her second batch tastes like pie with the taste of slightly spoiled milk - proof that, unfortunately, eating vaginal juice yogurt isn't exactly the same as tasting real pussy.
The smell of female lubricant, what is it like?
As a rule, the liquid has a mild and non-specific odor. The amount of secretion depends on the presence of certain microorganisms in the vagina. Under normal conditions, lactic acid bacteria or Dederlein bacilli are present in the vagina. The smell of feminine lubricant depends on the presence of anaerobic microorganisms that form volatile amines and volatile fatty acids. The "amine" smell may be due to the presence of these substances.
Each woman is individual in her own way, and each has her own special smell of lubricant that appears when aroused.
If a girl does not have any diseases of the reproductive system, and she adheres to the rules of intimate hygiene, then her fluid will not have an unpleasant aroma.
Timely treatment of various pathologies and diseases will protect a woman from negative consequences in the future. Therefore, every lady should be attentive to her health and monitor her intimate hygiene daily. After all, the sexual sphere influences a woman’s social life, her mood and well-being.
Psychological side of the issue
Enjoying intimate life is one of the main aspects of a successful union. But are women happy with the release of such a specific fluid? And how will the partners react to this?
More women, due to their upbringing, are embarrassed by their discharge, although it is a physiological process. The fear that their partner will see this viscous liquid prevents them from liberating themselves and, accordingly, reaching the peak of pleasure. Getting an orgasm becomes difficult, and women often resort to faking.
Much depends on the man. If he doesn’t understand what female ejaculation is and is squeamish about it, you can try to explain it yourself. As a last resort, consult a sex therapist. In most cases, men are aware and, on the contrary, reassure their partner and convince them that this action is natural. Those partners who took everything as it is even get excited when female ejaculate appears.
Understanding and attention to each other's physiological characteristics will lead to the fact that the relationship will be at its best.
Reason four: benign and malignant neoplasms
Often, the reason that brown discharge causes discomfort to a woman after sex is various neoplasms. Most often we are talking about polyps: these benign tumors appear due to stress, weakened immunity or hormonal imbalance.
Polyps are formed from cells of the cervix and parasitize on it until they are removed. Unfortunately, it is impossible to cure this disease using conservative methods: polyps can only be gotten rid of through surgery, and nothing else. The secretions released from polyps are either pink or bloody in color: brown is not typical for them.
Brown discharge after sex can also indicate cervical erosion: unlike polyps, this disease is not characterized by any other symptoms and often goes unnoticed until the next examination by a specialist. Erosion is incredibly dangerous - if there is a delay in treatment, it develops into cancer, which is why, at the slightest suspicion of it, an examination by a doctor is necessary.
Vaginal discharge of a pathological nature
Sometimes the presence of discharge is a reason to go to a specialist. Leucorrhoea with an unpleasant odor or clots may indicate pathology. You should pay attention to other symptoms - itching, burning in the intimate area indicates the development of a disease that requires treatment.
The disease is an inflammatory process. It can develop as a result of weakening of the body, the presence of acute and chronic infections, and changes in hormonal levels. The risk of disease increases if hygiene rules are not followed, after surgery, or if an intrauterine device is used. The main symptom is the appearance of mucus with an unpleasant odor.
Trichomoniasis
Violation of the vaginal microflora and decreased functions of the immune system contribute to the development of the disease.
Symptoms:
- Yellow leucorrhoea;
- Unpleasant sensations when urinating;
- Pain during sex.
Often the disease passes without obvious signs. If the course is unfavorable, the infection can spread to the uterus and fallopian tubes, which leads to serious disruption of the reproductive system.
The disease occurs due to the growth of a fungus. As a result, curd masses appear in the intimate area, smell, itching and burning are felt. Disruption of the microflora, leading to the growth of fungus, occurs due to the use of certain medications, poor hygiene, and hormonal changes.
Is white discharge normal?
White secretions during sex are considered normal. Thanks to this mucus, the vaginal walls are moisturized, the secretion is a natural lubricant. Also the secret is protection against pollution.
The appearance of copious whitish mucus is not always associated with sexual intercourse. The phenomenon can be noticed before the onset of menstruation. When ovulation occurs, the leucorrhoea becomes stringy and more elastic. After sex, copious white discharge may appear as a result of mixing female secretions with sperm.
White discharge is not always normal. They may appear due to the following factors:
- Constantly being in a state of stress;
- Exhaustion of the body;
- Changes in hormonal levels due to taking OK;
- Failure to comply with hygiene rules;
- Allergy to certain types of foods or medications;
- Acclimatization;
- Changes in microflora while taking antibiotics.
An alarming symptom is the appearance of leucorrhoea, reminiscent of cottage cheese in smell and appearance. They are heterogeneous and signal the development of candidiasis. It is accompanied by a white coating on the mucous membrane, itching and burning.
If regular lubrication is too much
For the most part, the phenomenon causes inconvenience of a psychological nature - a woman may be embarrassed by strong discharge and for this reason refuse sex.
In addition, some illiterate males consider increased humidity in the female vagina to be an unambiguous sign of a woman’s immorality or even her betrayal.
In fact, the abundance of discharge is a sign of healthy desire and a typical reaction of the body to a state of excitement.
A consultation with a sexologist or family psychologist, rather than a gynecologist, will help you cope with the “snag.”
Features of female discharge during arousal
Almost all sexual partners observe vaginal moisture during intimacy, and it increases with increasing sexual desire.
In everyday life, the secretion that appears during sex is called lubrication. This is a transparent, odorless liquid mucus with a uniform consistency. The described substrate consists of liquid and cellular components, which are the secretion of glands of the epithelium of the vagina and uterine cavity, leukocytes and various microorganisms.
Typically, female lubrication is released up to 5 ml per day. The amount of fluid with arousal increases significantly due to the rush of blood to the walls of the vagina and stimulation of the gonads. When girls are excited, discharge can be excessively abundant or, conversely, scanty. Sometimes the largest amount of them is released during orgasm.
This secret performs many functions. With its help, sex becomes more comfortable, easy insertion and sliding are ensured. The sticky composition reduces the entry of foreign microorganisms, creating a protective barrier against germs and infections.
During the fertile period in the fair sex, this liquid adapts its composition, creating a favorable environment for sperm, thus promoting conception.

What does the absence of discharge during sex mean?
There are times when the vagina does not lubricate during sexual intercourse. This usually happens during menopause. The reasons for this condition are as follows:
- constant use of soap with a high alkaline value (vaginal pH is 4-4.5);
- the use of a large amount of cosmetics and perfumes containing artificial fragrances and dyes;
- using latex condoms during sex;
- formation of benign or malignant tumors;
- immune disorders;
- genital herpes;
- use of antihistamines;
- uncontrolled treatment with antidepressants;
- incorrectly selected drug against arterial hypertension;
- genital and urinary tract infection;
- smoking (it deprives the tissue of oxygen and thus contributes to vaginal dryness);
- hormonal disorders (in particular, those associated with estrogen imbalance).
How does secretion change during sexual intercourse over the course of a month?
The characteristics of vaginal mucus depend on the phase of the menstrual cycle in which sexual intercourse occurred.
At the beginning there is very little mucus, it is transparent in color and quite watery. Its function at this stage is the barrier it forms in the cervical canal (the so-called cervical plug), which prevents the penetration of pathogenic microorganisms into the uterus.
Discharge like snot
As ovulation approaches, the amount of estrogen increases, which affects the functioning of the entire body, in particular the reproductive system and the properties of vaginal mucus. The vaginal secretion becomes abundant, thick, viscous and alkaline. It has a distinct odor of egg white and is creamy or white in color.
Vaginal white plaque
After ovulation, mucus is again produced in minimal quantities.
The nature of vaginal mucus and cervical fluid can even tell you what stage of fertility a woman is in and whether conception is possible.
To calculate the most suitable days for fertilization, you should pay attention to the signs and types of sexual mucus:
- With scanty discharge and dryness in the vagina, conception is impossible (immediately after and before menstruation).
- Sticky and sticky mucus that quickly dries on the fingers can only minimally contribute to the survival of sperm.
- Creamy white discharge during sex without odor will tell you that ovulation is approaching and increasing your chances of getting pregnant.
- The period of ovulation is characterized by the release of a white viscous liquid, reminiscent of egg white. Greatest chance of conception.
- Then the level of estrogen declines, which makes the cervical fluid less capable of storing and transporting male semen.
These secretions can also change due to other factors. Stress and illness in the legs, hormonal imbalance, taking medications, including hormonal medications, antibiotics, allergic reactions, infectious diseases and gynecological pathologies can change the description of the mucus secreted during sex.
