Reviews

Diana, 26 years old: For a week she underwent treatment for hemorrhoids using garlic steam baths. The effect was amazing. Thanks to the weekly procedures, the inflammatory process went away and the hemorrhoids disappeared. I recommend it to people suffering from an unpleasant disease.

Albert, 57 years old: Used an ointment based on finely chopped garlic cloves. On the third day of therapy, the inflammation went away, the hemorrhoids became smaller, and the painful symptoms disappeared. The event is not pleasant, but garlic helps and brings real salvation from hemorrhoids.

How garlic is useful for inflammation of hemorrhoids

There are many reasons why garlic is used to treat hemorrhoids. But they are all based on the healing properties of the vegetable. Garlic has a pronounced anti-inflammatory effect, which reduces swelling, relieves irritation and itching. The vegetable also helps fight bacteria and provides an antiviral effect.

Hemorrhoids occur against the background of congestion in the vessels of the rectum, and garlic prevents blockage of blood vessels. Thanks to the use of vegetables in the treatment of the disease, hemorrhoids are reduced, which entails a decrease in pain and other discomfort.

Contraindications

Garlic is a well-proven product in the treatment of colds (phytoncide). But for hemorrhoids, it should be used with caution, since improper use of the product can lead to serious complications. Taking the spice is contraindicated if:

  • Diagnosed with gastrointestinal diseases (indigestion);
  • pathologies of the liver or kidneys have been identified;
  • pregnancy has occurred;
  • there is individual intolerance;
  • medications are prescribed for thrombophlebitis or diabetes mellitus;
  • epilepsy was diagnosed.

Taking garlic orally for hemorrhoids, as well as enemas, tampons, suppositories under such restrictions is possible conditionally, with great caution.

There are scientific studies that prove the spice is pathogenic for the central nervous system: the sulfanyl-hydroxyl ion in the vegetable, when it penetrates into the brain tissue (with the bloodstream), causes migraines, reduces the ability to concentrate, and provokes absent-mindedness and lethargy.

The external use of garlic is limited due to its ability to cause not just irritation, but burns of the skin and mucous membranes, akin to chemical ones. This can happen if:

  • hemorrhoids are treated with a high concentration of garlic solution;
  • the contact time of the medicinal product with the skin has been exceeded;
  • there is hyperemia and irritation around the affected area;
  • the previous procedure caused a burn.

Among other things, the natural antibiotic is allergic.

Recipes and remedies

There are several options for treating hemorrhoids with garlic. Most of them are intended for local use (baths, enemas, ointments, suppositories). You need to select them together with your doctor.

Ointment

Garlic for hemorrhoids can be used to prepare an ointment, which is intended for local action. Ingredients needed to create the product:

  • garlic (200 g);
  • liquid honey (1 tsp);
  • milk (75 ml).

Cooking algorithm:

  • the vegetable is peeled and chopped;
  • honey and milk are added to the mass;
  • the components are mixed, placed on low heat, and after thickening, the mass is removed from the stove.

After the mixture has cooled, it needs to be brought to homogeneity so that the pieces of garlic dissolve in honey and milk. Cover the resulting mass with a lid and leave for 3 hours to infuse.

When the product is ready, it should be used to treat hemorrhoids. The course of treatment is carried out until the cones completely disappear. If the patient has internal hemorrhoids, the ointment can be applied to a cotton swab and inserted into the rectum. The prepared product must be stored in the refrigerator in a glass container.

The second version of the ointment is made only from garlic. The vegetable should be minced, blended or squeezed in a garlic press. The prepared gruel should be applied to problem areas.

When applying the garlic mixture, a slight burning sensation and even pain may occur, but they must be endured. At the end of exposure, the problem area should be rinsed with water (preferably warm).

Garlic candles

You can cure hemorrhoids at home using rectal suppositories. This treatment option is used for the internal form of the disease. To make candles, use the following recipe:

  • take an identical amount of butter and garlic, pass them through a meat grinder (to make it easier, the butter is preheated);
  • the resulting mass is thoroughly mixed;
  • take parchment paper and make cylindrical shapes for candles out of it;
  • the form is filled with the prepared mixture and the suppositories are placed in the refrigerator to harden;
  • Before insertion, the rectal suppository is removed from the paper and then placed in the rectum.

It is better to perform the procedure at night and continue it until the symptoms of the disease disappear.

Garlic is used in other ways in the treatment of hemorrhoids. The vegetable clove is cleaned, moistened in water and carefully inserted into the rectum. The procedure is carried out until the symptoms of the disease disappear. To prevent the disease, such suppositories should be placed in a course of 3 times a year. After administering the suppositories, the anus area should be lubricated with Vaseline or sea buckthorn oil.

Steam bath

Garlic helps against hemorrhoids if you make steam baths with it. For this method of treatment, you need to take a brick, heat it over a fire, then chop the garlic and place it on top of the stone. Then a special pan with a lid with holes is placed on it. They sit on the container in such a way that the steam reaches the inflamed nodes. The duration of the procedure is about 20 minutes.

If it is not possible to use brick, you can use another method. To do this, take water, boil it, then add finely chopped garlic into the liquid. The algorithm for performing the manipulations is the same. The procedures should be performed at least 10 times to achieve a positive effect.

Sitz bath

Hemorrhoids can also be treated with garlic using sitz baths. Execution technology:

  • Grind 7-11 vegetable cloves to a paste;
  • mix the resulting mass with water (4-5 l);
  • Pour the prepared solution into a basin, immerse yourself in it, spreading your buttocks.

Sitz baths are taken every day for 10-12 minutes.

Steam milk bath

Garlic can be used to prepare milk-based steam baths. Take 2 liters of cow product, add 200-300 g of garlic mixture to it. The resulting mass is poured into a container and placed on low heat until it boils. After this, put a special lid with holes on the pan or bucket (where the solution is poured). The anus area should be heated over steam for 10-14 minutes.

This treatment of hemorrhoids with garlic has received positive feedback from patients, as it has a good effect in a short time.

Before using steam baths, pregnant women should consult their doctor. There are individual cases when this type of therapy is contraindicated for expectant mothers.

Garlic enemas

If the patient has hemorrhoids, treatment can be carried out using douching. A special solution should be prepared. 1 large head of vegetable is ground on a grater, after which the mass is placed in a glass container and filled with boiled water (necessarily warm), stirred thoroughly.

The prepared liquid must be taken into a syringe and injected into the anus. There will be a slight burning sensation, but you should endure it for a couple of minutes. After 3-4 hours, the manipulations must be repeated. To consolidate the effect, douching is continued until all symptoms of the disease disappear.

Garlic compresses

Garlic applications help in the treatment of inflammation of hemorrhoidal cones. You should take a glass container and pour 1 liter of vinegar (apple vinegar) into it, add 1 tbsp. l. celandine (dried) and chopped garlic pulp. Cover the mixture with a lid and place in a dark place. The product is infused for 5-7 days, after which it is filtered and poured into a bottle.

After the specified time has passed, you need to apply garlic mass to a gauze bandage and apply it to the inflamed area. Such compresses should be applied 3 times a day.

Internal use

Many people are interested in whether it is possible to eat garlic for hemorrhoids. You can eat such a vegetable if there are no contraindications from the gastrointestinal tract and other organs and systems.

Is it possible to eat?

When treating hemorrhoids, garlic can be included in the daily diet. It is recommended to use one clove of the plant early in the morning before breakfast. For easier administration, you can grate a slice and mix the resulting mass with a teaspoon of vegetable oil and a tablespoon of warm water.

Garlic can be added to food as a seasoning. But it should be borne in mind that eating garlic in food has some restrictions. Using a healthy vegetable in conjunction with medications for thrombophlebitis is fraught with the appearance of bruises on the skin, due to the pronounced antithrombotic effect of the plant.

It must be remembered that the use of a large amount of natural antiseptic internally can provoke a burn of the esophagus and rectum and complicate the course of the disease.

The combined use of garlic and medications indicated for diabetes is also dangerous. The plant significantly reduces blood sugar levels.

Patients with epilepsy, kidney and liver problems, and pregnant women should use garlic with caution, given the fact that the active components of garlic are absorbed into the blood through the wall of the rectum. Persons with such pathologies should consult a doctor before starting treatment for hemorrhoids with garlic.
