In fact, the restrictions only affect those foods that irritate the gastric mucosa and cause increased production of digestive juices. The list of prohibited foods for peptic ulcers includes:

  • If you have a stomach ulcer, you should exclude fresh baked goods and pastries from the menu;
  • Strong tincture of fish or meat broths;
  • Any types of dishes with mushrooms;
  • It is necessary to avoid stringy meat dishes that require effort when chewing;
  • Dishes for ulcer patients should not be made from fatty fish, dried, smoked, salted fish products;
  • Be careful with fermented milk products, especially salty and spicy types of cheese;
  • Hard-boiled eggs and fried eggs should be excluded from the diet for peptic ulcers;
  • Fruits of legumes, corn and barley porridge;
  • Vegetables consisting of coarse fiber (radish, cabbage, turnips, cucumbers, rhubarb, etc.) are excluded from the list of permitted products;

  • You should avoid certain types of fruits, especially those containing high concentrations of acids (currants, citrus fruits, gooseberries, grapes, apricots, etc.);

  • Limited consumption of sweets, with the exception of chocolates and ice cream.

Healthy vegetables

Potato

Potato tubers contain vitamins B, C, D, PP, E, K, and a lot of microelements. In addition to fiber and pectins, potatoes are rich in organic acids and carotene.

It is not recommended to consume fried potatoes during the acute period of a peptic ulcer. Boiled potatoes are not contraindicated; heat-treated tubers are included in dietary dishes. Mashed potatoes and boiled potatoes do not increase acidity and exhibit many beneficial properties. Potato starch has an enveloping effect, relieves inflammation and spasm. The fiber contained in potatoes does not stimulate peristalsis and does not irritate the intestines.

In folk medicine, potato juice is widely used to treat the disease. It is taken orally 30 minutes before meals three times a day for three weeks. For treatment it is allowed to use only freshly squeezed juice. Remember, it is recommended to store potatoes for no more than six months; after the end of the period, harmful substances accumulate in the tubers, causing poisoning of the body, for example, solanine. Potato juice is harmful to tooth enamel; drink the liquid through a straw.

Cabbage

Cabbage contains an abundance of vitamins - C, P, group B, K, U, folic acid, salts of beneficial microelements. Vitamin U found in cabbage has an anti-ulcer effect. Cabbage contains substances that have a detrimental effect on the causative agent of peptic ulcers - Helicobacter pylori.

Not all types of cabbage are allowed for stomach ulcers. White cabbage increases acidity and its use is contraindicated. And gastroenterologists do not prohibit cauliflower for preparing dietary soups and purees. It is better to use inflorescences; dishes made from leaves damage the mucous membrane. Stewed and salted cabbage is contraindicated in case of illness. Sauerkraut and seaweed pose possible harm, however, the opinion of doctors about the use of these plants during an exacerbation of the disease is contradictory.

Carrot

Carrots are rich in vitamins A, C, K, E and group B. Raw carrots increase the production of gastric juice; eating the root vegetable when you are ill is contraindicated. Carrots for stomach ulcers are recommended as part of vegetable diets exclusively in boiled and pureed form in moderate quantities. Pumpkin

Zucchini in the diet is only allowed in boiled form; raw vegetables increase the formation of hydrochloric acid.

Salad

In addition to carbohydrates and fats, lettuce leaves contain vitamins A and C, microelements - potassium, iron, calcium, phosphorus. Salad is not contraindicated for peptic ulcers; juice from lettuce leaves is used as an additional phytotherapeutic treatment.

Celery

If you drink apple juice in the morning on an empty stomach, you can very quickly develop a stomach ulcer or gastritis. It is better to start the day with a glass of warm water or a mixture of vegetable juices. If you wish, you can drink the juice half an hour after breakfast. So, a charge of vitamins will be received before the start of the working day, and fermentation processes will not be activated due to the break between meals and juice.
