Inflammatory diseases of the musculoskeletal system often bring significant discomfort and literally make the patient’s life unbearable. Often, taking potent drugs is prohibited for one reason or another, and then homeopathy comes to the rescue. Gel "Traumel" and analogues of this drug help quickly and with minimal risk of side effects to get rid of pain and discomfort caused by inflammatory diseases of the musculoskeletal system, as well as accelerate tissue regeneration in various types of post-traumatic conditions.

Pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics
Pharmadynamics and pharmacokinetics are associated with ideas about the mechanism of action of homeopathic medicines on the human body. Due to the lack of knowledge and controversy of homeopathic methods of treatment, there are only general ideas about the mechanism of participation of chemicals in human metabolism. Homeopathy is outside the framework of traditional scientific medicine and the differences in approaches are different.
The speed of action of some drugs does not suggest that in such a short period of time the substance is able to enter the metabolic process and have an effect on the body.
We have to turn to the “wave”, “information” or “energy” theory, which stems from the method of preparation of drugs, when the composition of a pill (ball) may contain single molecules of a substance, and everything else is attributed to “memory” or “information field”, with which the dilution medium turned out to be charged.
Homeopaths believe that these microquantities of the substance and the water used for preparation resonate with the patient’s body, which determines the therapeutic effect.
In contrast to completely unstudied pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics can be traced in accordance with the effect of the action of homeopathic remedies.
There are general patterns:
- It is believed that all remedies used in homeopathy have an adaptogenic effect - they stimulate the vital forces of the whole organism, and not a separate organ or structure;
- On average, the effects of homeopathic medicines last longer than traditional ones. With this, homeopaths confirm their theory;
- Take medications less frequently and in smaller quantities than traditional medications;
- Subjective improvement in the patient’s well-being occurs before the clinical manifestations of the disease disappear.
The use of homeopathy as a medicine is not recommended as the clinical effectiveness has been questioned.
What to replace injections with?
So far, no medicines have been invented that fully correspond to Traumeel S in composition and concentration of ingredients. These solutions are the closest in mechanism of action.
Goal T
The active component of the medicine is Hepar sulfuris. Injections help fight joint problems and damage to bone tissue. Injections are given intramuscularly or subcutaneously, in the joint area, inside the bone, in acupuncture areas. Doctors often recommend using Zeal T with Traumeel S simultaneously to enhance the effectiveness of treatment.
Bio Ar
When it is necessary to treat a child, and Traumeel S cannot be used for some reason, parents look for analogues of the drug for children. A rare exception is Bio Ar, which is almost identical to the homeopathic remedy. It only contains a different concentration of plant extracts (chamomile, arnica and calendula predominate). The product has virtually no side effects and has no contraindications.
OTI Biodisc
In addition to plant extracts, the drug contains a complex of vitamins belonging to group B. The uniqueness of the product is in the variant of its administration - only in the area near the affected joint.
Rumalon
This is a domestic drug that helps treat problems of the musculoskeletal system. The product is sold in ampoules containing a solution for intramuscular injection. Injections with this medicine are recommended for the treatment of degenerative joint pathologies. Contraindications include rheumatoid arthritis and increased sensitivity of the body to the ingredients of the medication.
Alflutop
This is a Romanian drug that is recommended for the treatment of pathologies of the musculoskeletal system. Sold in ampoules containing an injection solution. The active ingredient is a bioactive concentrate extracted from sea fish. The product has age restrictions and some contraindications. Before use, you must carefully study the attached instructions.
Traumeel S
Traumeel S is an original drug. It has been produced for a long time by the well-known company Heel, which has proven itself in almost all areas of modern medicine. Its drugs belong to antihomotoxic therapy, that is, they work on the principle of “treating like with like.” Sometimes they are also referred to as homeopathy.
A feature of the drugs produced by Heel is their high efficiency, good tolerability and almost complete absence of side effects. Most of them are multicomponent and are herbal medicines.
The composition of Traumeel S is presented:
- mountain arnica;
- witch hazel;
- echinacea;
- aconite;
- Belladonna.
Due to the multicomponent nature of Traumeel C, there are no generics, that is, complete structural analogues. But what to do in such a situation? How to replace Traumeel S if necessary? And on what basis should we choose a replacement for him?
You can replace this medicine as follows:
- One of each of the constituent components.
- According to the mechanism of action.
Do not forget that Traumeel S is available in different dosage forms, and this can complicate the search. A similar drug will not always be sold in the form of drops or injection solution, like the original one.
Traumeel S is most often used in the form of an ointment for bruises, swelling, hematomas as a first aid remedy for any person, including pregnant and lactating women, as well as children. What can replace Traumeel S ointment?
Replacement by composition
The main component of Traumeel S is mountain arnica, or arnica montana. Of course, other substances also affect the effectiveness of the medicine, but it is arnica that determines the direction of its action. Therefore, doctors and pharmacists most often offer arnica ointment as an analogue to Traumeel S.
This medicine is positioned by the manufacturer as homeopathic; the ointment contains mountain arnica and petroleum jelly. Its cost is significantly lower than Traumeel S.
Arnica ointment is used for the following pathologies:
- Bruises and sprains (ankle sprains).
- Hemorrhages (to speed up the resorption of hematomas).
- Abrasions - the ointment has a wound healing effect
- Edema (inflammatory or post-traumatic).
However, unlike Traumeel S, arnica ointment is not recommended for use during pregnancy and lactation due to insufficient study of this medicine in this category of women.
The drug Cel T from the same manufacturer Heel also has a similar composition. Its composition is even broader than that of Traumeel C, but one of the most significant components is arnica montana. Purpose T is available in the form of an ointment and is used mainly for various types of arthrosis.
This is a homeopathic remedy that is well tolerated, but due to the substance Sanguinaria canadensis in its composition in an amount of 0.225 g per 100 g, it is prohibited for the treatment of pregnant women and lactation. In childhood, Goal T can only be used from the age of six.
Replacement by action
The effect of Traumeel S ointment is varied. This is mainly due to the multicomponent nature of its composition. Despite the fact that local forms are not absorbed and have less effects, Traumeel S ointment is successfully used for a wide variety of diseases. Most often we are talking about the following pathologies:
- Inflammation of the joint capsules - bursitis (bursitis of the big toe).
- Damage to tendons and ligaments – tenosynovitis.
- Bruises of various locations (bruises of the ribs, back).
- Hematomas.
- Inflammatory and post-traumatic edema.
- Lactostasis and incipient mastitis.
The main effect of Traumeel S is anti-inflammatory. By reducing the activity of the inflammatory process, the pain syndrome also subsides and swelling resolves. Thus, this medicine has analgesic and decongestant effects.
The most optimal option would be to search for an analogue of Traumeel S ointment among a large group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, or NSAIDs.
NSAIDs
Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, like Traumeel S, act on any type of inflammation. At the same time, they are analgesics by relieving pain and eliminating swelling.
What drugs from the NSAID group can be used as analogues of Traumeel S ointment? Most often, doctors recommend the following drugs:
- Fastum gel.
- Diklak Gel.
- Nurofen gel.
- Indomethacin ointment.
- Nise.
- Finalgel.
But do not forget that the entire group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs is characterized by common side effects. These medications affect the blood system, reducing its ability to clot and causing bleeding. In addition, they all have a damaging effect on the gastrointestinal tract. Gastric and duodenal ulcers are a common complication when taking NSAIDs without the use of appropriate protection.
Of course, the likelihood of developing these complications when treated with local forms of NSAIDs - ointments and gels - is much lower. And when used correctly, it is reduced to almost zero. But still, before looking for an analogue of Traumeel C in the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, you should consult with your doctor. This is especially important for children and the elderly, pregnant and lactating women, in the presence of concomitant pathologies - stomach ulcers, bleeding hemorrhoids.
Fastum gel
Fastum gel is widely used in traumatology and neurology for the treatment of bruises, bursitis, and myositis. Produces a rapid anti-inflammatory effect, eliminates swelling and provides good pain relief. Can be used as an analogue of Traumeel S ointment.
However, for greater safety, certain rules should be followed.
The gel should not be rubbed in, but applied to the skin in a thin layer. In this case, the amount of the active substance, ketoprofen, entering the systemic circulation is reduced, and the risk of side effects becomes lower.
Diclak gel
This local remedy is made on the basis of diclofenac, which is one of the most powerful anti-inflammatory drugs. Diclak gel can also be used as an analogue of Traumeel S according to its mechanism of action.
The anti-inflammatory effect of diclofenac is higher than that of homeopathic and antihomotoxic drugs, however, the risk of side effects is greater. The most common indication for the use of Diclak gel is arthritis and arthrosis with severe pain.
Nurofen gel
The medicine is based on ibuprofen, a strong anti-inflammatory drug. The good tolerability and relative safety of Nurofen speak in favor of its use as an analogue of Traumeel C.
Children are allowed from 12 years of age. During pregnancy and lactation, use is possible, but only as prescribed by a doctor. The main indications are neuralgia, muscle and joint pain. The potency is comparable to or superior to Traumeel S. The course of treatment is usually shorter.
Indomethacin ointment
Indomethacin is an NSAID with a predominant anti-inflammatory effect. Can be used as an analogue of Traumeel S ointment in adults and children from six years of age. When used correctly, side effects are extremely rare. This may include redness of the skin or allergic reactions. Indomethacin ointment is prescribed for sprains, bruises, joint syndrome, and muscle pain.
Its cost is quite low, this medicine is available to any category of patients.
Nise
Nise is produced on the basis of nimesulide, an anti-inflammatory drug of the latest generation. This gel has a pronounced analgesic effect, superior in strength to Traumeel S. However, due to possible side effects, Nise is used with caution in children, although according to the instructions this is allowed from the age of two.
The release form - a gel - allows you to reduce the frequency of complications, since the medicine is practically not absorbed through the skin and does not enter the general bloodstream. This analogue is usually used for degenerative joint diseases - deforming osteoarthritis with severe pain.
Action
Traumeel is a homeopathic complex that has the following medicinal effects:
- relieves swelling;
- effectively stops external bleeding;
- stops inflammatory processes;
- relieves pain;
- stimulates regeneration processes, due to which all skin damage heals much faster;
- supports the immune system.
Side effects
The advantage of Traumeel gel for burns includes a rather small list of limitations and side effects. Adverse symptoms can only occur in the event of an individual allergic reaction to one of the components of the product.
In this situation, the patient feels severe itching at the application site, and skin rashes are possible. If this happens, you need to stop using Traumeel for burns and seek help from a therapist.
Precautions for use
An absolute medical contraindication for use is intolerance to one of the components of the drug. If a rash or other allergic reaction occurs, you should stop treatment immediately and consult a doctor.
During treatment with Traumeel with a gel appearance, negative pathological reactions may appear: allergic reactions, rashes and redness on the skin, and itching. In other cases, the drug is well tolerated. It is recommended not to use the product for children under 8 years of age without prior permission from a doctor.
Clinically significant excess doses of Traumeel gel or ointment, as well as overdose symptoms, have not been recorded or described by scientists.
Reviews from pregnant women about Traumeel
To get a complete impression of the drug Traumeel S, its effectiveness and safety during pregnancy, we recommend that you read reviews from women about the use of a homeopathic remedy.
“I used the ointment throughout my pregnancy to relieve pain from muscle strains and back pain. The doctor prescribed the drug and indicated the permissible dosage, which I strictly followed. In my case, the pain went away almost immediately, although I read that homeopathy should be used over a long period of time to obtain a noticeable effect.”
Alevtina, 30 years old.
“I used Traumeel when I was breastfeeding. Lactostasis occurred due to nervousness, and the doctor prescribed ointment. To be honest, I did not expect a quick effect, since this is a homeopathic medicine. However, improvement came within a few days. To this day, I always have Traumeel in my first aid kit. The only thing that bothers me is its high price.”
Maria, 34 years old.
“During pregnancy, I hit myself hard and an impressive lump immediately appeared at the site of the injury. I decided to treat her with Traumeel ointment, since I know that it is relatively safe during pregnancy. Indeed, after a couple of days there was no trace left of the lump. I would also like to note that the pain went away almost immediately after applying the ointment.”
Margarita, 26 years old.
“When I was pregnant, I often suffered from back pain. At first she tolerated it, but later the condition worsened, and the doctor prescribed Traumeel. Girls, this is a miracle remedy. After several applications, the pain became much quieter, and over time it almost disappeared. By the way, after giving birth I used ointment for lactostasis.”
Galina, 26 years old.
Traumeel is an excellent homeopathic remedy approved during pregnancy. In addition, it can be used to treat newborns, so it will not be out of place if Traumeel S appears in your family medicine cabinet.
special instructions
It is not recommended to use the drug on a large area of skin. Therapy continues as prescribed by a specialist. Before using a homeopathic remedy, you should read the instructions for Traumeel s. Symptoms are often intensified in the initial stages of the disease. In this case, the dosage changes.

It needs to be slowly dissolved not on the tongue, but under it, until it completely dissolves. The duration of treatment is determined by the doctor; it ranges from 2 to 8 weeks.
Traumeel during pregnancy is prescribed in situations where the benefit to the expectant mother is greater than the potential risk to the health of the fetus. The duration of the course and dosage are set only by the doctor for each patient individually. Subsequently, the doctor closely monitors the condition of the woman and the unborn child. Even with minimal disturbances in the fetal heartbeat or manifestations of maternal allergies, the drug is stopped.
Sometimes the drug is prescribed during pregnancy
Important! The drug Traumeel is used with caution during lactation. If possible, breastfeeding is suspended until the treatment course is completed.
The tablets contain lactose, so Tramuel S is prohibited for patients with a lack of lactase in the body.
The drug does not affect the patient's ability to drive. If, after starting treatment, symptoms persist or even intensify, you should urgently consult a doctor, discontinue or replace the medication with a more suitable one.

Composition of the drug
This is a homotoxic drug that stands at the junction between medicinal medicine and homeopathy. Classical homeopathy does not use composite remedies for treatment, believing that their effect on the body cannot be traced, and in homotoxicology, the use of composite remedies is quite common practice. And these drugs have proven themselves well as auxiliary drugs in the complex therapy of various diseases.
Traumeel S is a transparent liquid, colorless or light yellow, with the smell of alcohol, which is included in the preparation as an auxiliary component. Drops are available in 30 ml bottles with a dropper. It includes:
- Arnica montana (Arnica montana) – a preparation based on mountain Arnica;
- Calendula officinalis (Calendula officinalis) – a preparation based on Calendula officinalis;
- Witch hazel (Hamamelis virginiana) – made from the Hamamelis virginiana plant;
- Millefolium (Achillea millefolium) is a preparation obtained from the common yarrow;
- Atropa belladonna – a preparation based on Belladonna;
- Aconite (Aconitum napellus) is a preparation obtained from the plant Turnip borer;
- Mercurius solubilis (Mercurius solubilis Hahnemanni) – mercury preparation;
- Hepar sulfuris - a product containing calcium from oyster shells and fine sulfur powder;
- Chamomilla is a substance obtained from Chamomile;
The great scientists of antiquity actively used chamomile in their recipes. Dioscorides and Hippocrates used the plant to relieve pain and cramps. Avicenna used the plant as a tonic. Source: flickr (zadryga).
- Symphytum officinale – made from Comfrey;
- Bellis (Bellis perennis) – a preparation based on the perennial daisy;
- Echinacea angustifolia – a preparation based on Echinacea angustifolia;
- Echinacea purpurea – a preparation based on Echinacea purpurea;
- Hypericum perforatum (Hypericum) is a preparation based on St. John's wort.
It is this rich set of active ingredients that ensures the use of drops for various diseases. Traumeel C drops have anti-inflammatory, anti-exudative, immunostimulating, analgesic effects.
Note! The product contains poisonous plants and mercury, this may raise questions. To preface them, let us remember that homeopathic doses of substances are so small that they are not able to have a toxic effect on the body. The air you breathe and the water you drink contain just as much mercury.
Analogs
There is no complete substitute for Traumeel gel, due to the uniqueness of its composition. The components of the drug were carefully selected, and therefore no manufacturer has yet been able to reproduce them in another drug. The closest analogue with a similar mechanism of action is Arnica ointment.
The substitute is prescribed only by the attending physician, based on the clinical picture of the pathological process, the patient’s condition, associated complications and contraindications.
Pharmacological properties
Since the drug contains only natural ingredients, the instructions for use for Traumeel injections describe it as a homeopathic remedy. Therefore, the drug has several effects on the body. The main properties include:
- Wound healing effect. After injury, regardless of the type and severity of the injury, the introduction of Traumeel accelerates the process of soft tissue regeneration.
- Increasing the body's defenses. The drug improves the functional activity of the immune system. The product affects the indicators necessary to combat negative factors.
- Antiexudative effect. If there are inflammatory foci in the body, swelling is observed, caused by the accumulation of fluid. The drug helps reduce the severity or completely eliminate this symptom.
- Venotonic effect. The active components increase the tone of the vascular walls, restore blood circulation, and eliminate the main signs of varicose veins.
- Anti-inflammatory effect. In case of traumatic or infectious tissue damage, an inflammatory process develops, which is a consequence of the activation of the immune system. The drug helps eliminate swelling and redness and relieve pain.
- Antihemorrhagic effect. When capillaries and large vessels are damaged, bleeding develops. The use of Traumeel helps reduce blood loss.
- Analgesic effect. Diseases and injuries almost always cause pain of varying severity. Traumeel reduces the intensity of unpleasant sensations.
The pharmacokinetic parameters of the active substances have not been studied, so there is no data on the ability of the drug to distribute in the body.
