Acylact suppositories: instructions for use in gynecology

Indications for use

Acylact suppositories can be used in the following cases and for what:

  • Treatment of gynecological diseases that disrupt the normal microflora of the vagina
  • Colpitis and dysbacteriosis
  • Chronic, acute and subacute forms of diseases in women, which are accompanied by a violation of the microflora in the vagina
  • Hormonal disorders in the form of atrophic colpitis
  • Some sexually transmitted diseases and excessive activity of opportunistic microflora.

The medication is also used for prophylactic purposes to prevent the development of dysbacteriosis after acute infections or surgical interventions. If a woman has a severe form of the disease, then an integrated approach to therapy is allowed - medications are taken simultaneously in the form of suppositories (suppositories) and tablets.

Candles for thrush

Candidiasis (thrush) is a fairly common disease in women. In most cases, it worsens during menstruation. This is due to transformations in the vaginal environment due to ongoing discharge and hormonal changes. At this stage, a favorable environment is created for the development of the fungus – candida. Many types of candles, when used on “women’s days,” can have a negative effect. A small part of the medicinal substances included in their composition remains in the vagina. As a result, the destruction of the fungus stops, the infection does not respond to low levels of the drug.

Medicinal properties

The medication is a probiotic. The product is filled with acidophilic lactobacilli, which create conditions for the development of normal vaginal microflora and are antagonists of harmful pathogenic microorganisms and genitourinary infections. The drug exhibits particular activity against staphylococci, Proteus and enteropathogenic Escherichia coli. It has been proven that during the period of therapy, women experienced significant improvements, the acidic environment was restored to normal levels. As is known, opportunistic and pathogenic microorganisms cannot develop in an acidic environment, therefore local immunity increases, and harmful agents either become inactive or even die. There is no data on the pharmacokinetics of the drug.

Risk factors for developing bacterial vaginosis

You can assume that bacterial vaginosis is present in the following cases:

— Your sexual partner has recently changed;

— Antibiotics were taken not long ago;

— For several weeks there was a frequent change of sexual partners;

— There is an intrauterine device;

- Used contraceptive creams and suppositories containing 9-nonoxynol (for example, Nonoxynol, Patentex Oval);

- Douching was recently performed;

— Lack of personal hygiene.

The above factors are not the main root cause of the pathological process, however, they negatively affect the vaginal environment and provoke the appearance of bacterial vaginosis.

Release forms

The average cost in Russia is 157 rubles per package.

The following forms of release are available: vaginal suppositories, tablets, powder and lyophilisate for dilution to prepare a solution. One dose of powder contains 10 to 7 active ingredients; it is white, opaque, small, crumbly and homogeneous without a characteristic odor. Suppositories that need to be inserted vaginally are white and are packaged in a protective shell. There are 10 pieces sold in one package. Tablets are sold in 20 or 30 pieces in bottles or polymer jars, packed in cardboard packages. The lyophilisate is applied orally or topically. One bottle contains 5,000,000 active ingredients; a total of 10 bottles are sold per box. One bottle contains 5 single doses.

How to enter

It is necessary to insert candles during menstruation very carefully, observing the rules of personal hygiene. It is necessary that an infection does not get into the vagina along with the drug. This may occur due to open access to his environment during menstruation. Before insertion, you must thoroughly wash your hands and perineum. The drug is administered while lying on your back, after which the woman lies for 20 minutes.

According to the instructions for use, different drugs have different effects on the body. It is better to discuss whether to use suppositories during menstruation or not with your doctor, who will tell you whether there can be a break in taking the drug or whether suppositories should be administered rectally, as well as the advisability of vaginal administration of a particular drug during menstruation.

Mode of application

How to use acylact suppositories

The suppositories are intended for vaginal administration. After removing the protective packaging material, they must be administered immediately. Suppositories are inserted in a supine position, as deep as possible into the vaginal cavity. Before insertion, wash your hands and outer labia well. The solution and tablets are additionally prescribed by a doctor if there are strict indications for this. The use is indicated according to the doctor's regimen; before using these medications, it is recommended to carefully study the instructions.

During pregnancy and breastfeeding

Acylact is readily used during pregnancy and lactation, since the medicine does not pose any harm to the child. Pregnancy is a favorable period for the development of vaginal dysbiosis against the background of reduced immunity, so it can be effectively treated with lactobacilli.

Tests to determine the state of the vaginal microflora

Carrying out tests of the vaginal microflora Since the disease is often asymptomatic, many women learn about it only at an appointment with a gynecologist. If the doctor suspects that his patient is not healthy, he takes a urogenital smear to determine the vaginal microflora for laboratory tests. To obtain results, a smear examination with Gram staining can be used in accordance with European recommendations in accordance with the Hay-Ison scale or with the assessment of Nugent scores and the Russian recommendations of the national guide to gynecology - femoflora analysis (determination of DNA of microorganisms associated with bacterial vaginosis or assessment of microscopic characteristics vaginal biocinosis (Kyra classification).

A smear examination involves the analysis of squamous epithelium, gram-positive rods (including Dederlein's rods), leukocytes, etc.

As a result of the studies, the specialist can determine the composition and ratio of the vaginal microflora, the presence/absence/intensity of inflammation, and also determine the reason for the dysbiosis.

Taking an analysis to identify the ratio of beneficial and pathogenic microflora of the vagina requires certain preparation:

  • It is necessary to abstain from sexual intercourse for 24 hours.
  • Three days before the smear collection, you should avoid vaginal douching, the use of tampons, suppositories and other local remedies, and do not perform hygiene on the day of the test collection.
  • After consulting with your doctor, it is advisable to refrain from taking antibacterial drugs for at least a few days.

Test results can usually be obtained after 1-3 days, after which it is necessary to begin appropriate treatment aimed at restoring, improving and maintaining the vaginal microflora in a normal, healthy state.

Contraindications

Acylact for thrush - is it possible?

The medication is not used in the presence of candidiasis, since thrush is the result of the activity of yeast fungi, and lactobacilli not only will not cure the disease, but will also worsen the course of the disease in a woman.

Acylact during menstruation - is use indicated?

It is not possible to use the product during menstruation. Heavy periods, due to the high blood content in the vagina, fill the vaginal walls, which does not allow lactobacilli to gain a foothold normally, so there is no point in using the medication during menstruation.

Is acylact and alcohol compatible?

No, there is no compatibility between these substances. With alcohol, the effectiveness of the drug will deteriorate many times, since alcohol disrupts the microflora and interferes with the action of the drug. The same applies to alcoholic medicinal tinctures. It is recommended to refrain from using alcohol-containing medications, since incompatibility may occur between ethanol-based drugs and lactobacilli for the above reasons.

"Pimafucin"

This is what Pinafucin candles look like. They come in the form of candles. The active substance is lactobacilli and lactic acid. Restores the acid level of the vagina. Destroys bacteria that parasitize the uterus.

Complex treatment is prescribed with Vagikal drops. The course lasts from 10 to 14 days. 1 suppository is administered 3 times a day or as recommended by a gynecologist.

It is also used 7 days before conception, if suppositories were previously used to restore microflora after treatment of thrush. Contraindicated for pregnant women and minor girls. Compatible with antibiotics.

It is not recommended to take if you have diseases of the uterus or intestines. The drug is available with a doctor's prescription.

Analogs

Lactobacterin

Bio Long Life, Russia

The average cost is 147 rubles per package.

Lactobacterin is a complete analogue of the above product, except that it differs in a greater abundance of release forms: tablets, intravaginal suppositories, liquid solution, dry lyophilisate for dilution and powder in bags.

Pros:

  • A little cheaper
  • No harm to the body.

Minuses:

  • Not suitable for everyone
  • There are no suppositories or tablets available for sale at the moment.

Lactonorm

Lecco, Russia

The average cost is 380 rubles per package.

The active ingredient lactonorm is identical to its analogues. It differs in the form of release - one polymer jar contains 14 or 28 pessaries for vaginal administration. The drug is used purely to restore the vaginal microflora.

Pros:

  • Effective
  • Easy to use.

Minuses:

  • Expensive.
  • Will not help with thrush.

Other drugs for menstruation

  • Hexicon is a local drug that actively helps in the treatment of cervicitis and vaginitis. Suppositories are not recommended for use during menstruation due to a decrease in results from rapid dissolution under the influence of a changed mucosal environment.
  • Genferon is an antiviral and antibacterial drug. Not recommended for use in case of heavy bleeding. The constituent substances lose activity, allowing bacteria to adapt to the environment. With scanty menstruation, use is possible, and the drug acts most effectively rectally.
  • Depantol has an antiseptic effect and stimulates regenerative processes. Use during menstruation does not make sense, due to rapid leaching and the inability to renew tissue during menstruation.
  • The action of Betadine is aimed at disinfecting the environment and combating pathogenic bacteria. During scanty menstruation, the drug has an active effect - the iodine in the composition is quickly absorbed, and glycerin is poorly washed out. With heavy discharge, the effect of the drug slows down slightly. The drug does not cause discomfort in women.
  • Acylact is a product that can restore the natural microflora of the vagina. The drug supplies the intimate areas with bacteria, which ensure normal, comfortable functioning of the mucous membrane, fights pathogenic infections, protecting the organ from its proliferation. During menstruation, suppositories are not used due to rapid elimination.

Composition and principle of action

The drug "Acilact" exists in the form of suppositories, tablets and lyophilisate for oral administration. The drug contains three types of lactobacilli (Lactobacillus acidophilus):

  • 100ash;
  • K3SH24;
  • NK1.

The detailed composition and number of CFU - colony-forming units - in different forms of drug release are presented in the table.

Table - Composition and dosage of various forms of the drug "Acilact"

FormBasic compositionAdditional components
Pills1 dose = 10 million CFU (107 bacteria) 3 doses = 30 million CFU (3*107 bacteria)— Vitamin and mineral complexes; - proteins
Lyophilisate3 doses = 30 million CFU (3*107 bacteria) 5 doses = 50 million CFU (5*107 bacteria)Sugar-gelatin-milk medium
Candles1 dose = 10 million CFU (107 bacteria)Fat base

The main effect of the drug is based on the antagonistic relationship between lactobacilli and pathogenic microbes. As a result of this antagonism, the number of the latter is significantly reduced. "Acilact" has the following effects:

  • restores the biocenosis of the gastrointestinal tract and vagina;
  • increases local immunity;
  • has an anti-inflammatory effect;
  • improves metabolic processes in tissues.

When using Acylact suppositories, lactobacilli, multiplying in the vagina, process glycogen and secrete lactic acid. This way they maintain a low pH, which is detrimental to most pathogens. At the same time, Doderlein bacilli actively reproduce in such conditions. Thus, “Acilact” gives time for lactic acid bacteria (Doderlein bacilli) to again take a leading position and maintain a clean environment in the vagina.

The high content of lactobacilli does not allow the proliferation of pathogenic microorganisms. They themselves “eat up” all the nutrients and occupy all the mucous membranes. Thanks to this, the medicine has a nonspecific anti-inflammatory effect, and can also serve as a prophylaxis for various disorders and dysbiosis.
