Inflammation of the cervix treatment with folk remedies

Cervicitis is an acute inflammatory process, the focus of which is concentrated in the vaginal segment of the cervix. According to medical statistics, the pathological process most often occurs in women of childbearing age. The danger of the disease is that cervicitis can spread to other organs: the uterus, ovaries, bladder and peritoneum.

During pregnancy, cervicitis occurs in rare cases, since upon registration, expectant mothers undergo a detailed examination and have time to cure detected sexually transmitted infections. If the development of the inflammatory process went unnoticed or the patient ignored the doctor’s prescriptions, then there is a high probability of premature termination of pregnancy or the formation of various defects in the fetus.

The causative agents of infection are most often pathogenic microorganisms, so antibiotics are necessarily prescribed to eliminate the pathology.

Treatment of cervicitis with folk remedies is recommended by doctors only as an addition to a complex of medications.

The main symptoms of cervical inflammation

Cervicitis can be acute or chronic. The latter in most cases does not manifest itself in any way and can be asymptomatic for several months. A pronounced clinical picture appears with acute cervicitis or with exacerbation of the chronic form of the disease.

The main signs of cervicitis include:

  • dull pain in the lower abdomen;
  • abundant purulent or mucous vaginal discharge, blood after sexual intercourse;
  • burning and itching in the vagina;
  • pain and discomfort during and after sexual intercourse;
  • menstrual irregularities.

Douching

Douching for inflammation of the cervix can be carried out using a special rubber bulb with a sharp tip or a disposable 5 ml syringe (the needle is removed before the procedure).

The following recipes are most often used for douching:

  1. Dissolve 8 drops of tea tree oil in 100 ml of warm boiled water. Treatment with this solution is carried out for 10 days according to the following scheme: the first 3 days - in the morning and evening, and in the next week only before bedtime.
  2. 30 g of oak bark is poured into 1 liter of boiling water, put on low heat and boiled for a quarter of an hour, then filtered and cooled to room temperature. Treatment with a decoction is carried out twice a day for 2 weeks.
  3. You can also douche with a decoction of calendula. To prepare it, 2 tbsp. l. of vegetable raw materials, brew 500 ml of boiling water and leave in a thermos for 3 hours. For procedures, use a warm, strained infusion.
  4. For the treatment of purulent cervicitis, a collection of fennel fruits, marshmallow and licorice rhizomes, chamomile flowers and golden mustache leaves will be useful. All components are taken in equal quantities and crushed. 1 tbsp. l. The collection is combined with a glass of boiling water, kept under the lid for 20 minutes and filtered. The procedures are carried out twice a day for 1.5–2 weeks.

Therapeutic tampons

Self-made tampons are another means of local therapy in the treatment of chronic or acute cervicitis. The advantage of this technique is that the agents used for treatment act directly on the affected area without affecting other organs.

Traditional medicine offers the following solutions for impregnating medicinal tampons:

  1. 1 tbsp. l. honey mixed with 1 tsp. apple cider vinegar (preferably homemade). Add 10 drops of garlic juice to the resulting mixture. The tampon is inserted into the vagina for 40–60 minutes. In this case, an unpleasant burning sensation will be felt. If erosion is present, treatment with this remedy is not recommended.
  2. An old (more than 3 years old) aloe leaf is cut off, kept in a cool place for 10 days, after which the juice is extracted and a cotton-gauze swab is soaked with it. Treatment is carried out for 10–12 days.
  3. Treatment of cervical inflammation can be carried out with ointments made from herbs. To prepare the product, take flax seeds, horsetail, plantain, calendula and chamomile flowers, and wheatgrass root. 30 g of the resulting mixture is brewed with 200 ml of boiling water and placed in a water bath. Heat until the volume of the liquid is reduced by half, then cool and filter. To the cooled broth add 50 g of unsalted butter and 4–5 tbsp. l. glycerin. Treatment with this remedy can be carried out daily until the symptoms of the disease disappear.

Regardless of the chosen method of treatment, during the period of therapeutic procedures the patient is recommended to abstain from intimate life and observe the rules of personal hygiene.

Cervical erosion in nulliparous women - is treatment necessary?

In my student years, when this sore was first “found” in me, the doctor said that it was not at all necessary to treat cervical erosion in nulliparous women. No matter how it should develop, but after a successful delivery, cauterization can be done. However, now doctors have radically changed their point of view and recommend that everyone, without exception, undergo the procedure. I think this is due to the fact that medicine has made great progress in the treatment of erosion, and the currently existing methods are relatively safe even for girls who do not have children.

Again, how to treat is up to the women themselves. The daughter of my classmate was terribly afraid of the laser, which the doctor recommended to her, and stubbornly douched for 2 months with various decoctions and inserted tampons. The erosion was cured, but, as we see, it took a lot of time.

But in my opinion, it is impossible to pose the question fundamentally - to treat or not. The doctor must tell you about this, since the severity of the disease in each girl may be different. One will have only a small wound that requires minimal conservative procedures, the other will have progressive erosion, the treatment of which cannot be delayed. One condition is mandatory for everyone - regular examination by a gynecologist.
