Castor oil for cleansing: how to take orally, colon cleansing, instructions, results and reviews

To obtain castor oil, the seeds of the castor bean plant are used. It grows everywhere in warm regions; there is no shortage of raw materials in our country, so the final processed product is inexpensive.

Castor bean fruits are rich in vegetable oil; it occupies up to eighty percent of the volume of each seed. It is not difficult to extract - the pharmaceutical industry uses standard cold-pressed technology. Then the product is treated with steam at a temperature above one hundred and twenty degrees. As a result of heat treatment, toxic substances present in the seeds and leaves of castor bean are destroyed.

It is not allowed to prepare castor oil yourself. At home, it is impossible to warm it up in the required way to ensure the destruction of toxins. Untreated product is dangerous. The alkaloid ricinine causes severe damage to body systems even when inhaled. The consequences of poisoning are irreversible, since ricinin destroys the protein structure in tissues.

Useful properties of oil for cleansing the body

Doctors recommend drinking castor oil with sour juice without fail before a colonoscopy.

Oil helps:

  • empty the intestines of feces;
  • rid the body of parasites;
  • lose weight;
  • free from toxins after taking medications (antibiotics), alcohol poisoning and heavy feasts;
  • reduce the amount of fungus in the body;
  • improve the functioning of the circulatory system, liver and kidneys;
  • cleanse blood vessels from cholesterol plaques.

Recommended for various disorders in the gastrointestinal tract.
The benefits of the oil become obvious after intestinal cleansing procedures: the skin is cleansed, hair and nails are strengthened, acne goes away, swelling subsides.

Castor oil - properties and composition

The main component of this product is a triglyceride with beneficial acids, known for a number of unique properties:

  1. Ricinoleic.
    It occupies 80–85 percent of the total composition, has a strong anti-inflammatory effect, cleanses of toxins, removes toxins and harmful substances, restores and heals well.
  2. Oleic and linoleic.
    These are essential fatty acids that are necessary for the normal, full functioning of the entire body. We do not produce them, but receive them only from the outside, so it is very important that they are always in sufficient quantities.

Also, the composition contains saturated fatty acids stearic and palmitic and a number of other substances that are very important for humans.

Principle of action on the intestines

The unique properties of castor oil have been known to medicine for quite some time. In Soviet times, the oil was widely used for both adults and children as a strong but mild laxative - to relieve constipation and poisoning.

The oil is a completely herbal product, prepared from the seeds of the castor bean. Once in the body, fatty acids enter into an active reaction with enzymes of gastric juice and stimulate the nerve endings of the gastrointestinal tract.

2-4 hours after taking the oil, mixture or capsules, defecation occurs, which is repeated several times in a short time.

The seeds of the plant are used to produce castor oil.

The release of accumulated solid feces and toxic substances occurs, among other things, from the folds of the intestine. After cleansing, the body begins to better absorb nutrients, water and vitamins, which leads to:

  • to reduce skin dryness;
  • weight loss (sometimes quite serious);
  • glowing skin;
  • the appearance of a healthy blush;
  • reducing swelling and bruising under the eyes.

Castor oil for cleansing the intestines, mixed with sour juice and cognac, can also gently but effectively rid the body of protozoa, helminths, nematodes, and fungal diseases.

Chemical composition and benefits when taken orally

Castor bean seeds contain about 50% fatty oil, as well as unique acids: oleic, recinoleic and linoleic. This is why castor oil is very common in various industries.

Castor oil is a cheap, safe and effective laxative.

Beneficial properties of castor oil when taken orally:

  • Stimulates the liver and accelerates lipid metabolism, which contributes to the high-quality cleansing of the body from toxins.
  • Improves intestinal motility and promotes high-quality and regular bowel movements.
  • Helps in the fight against many food poisoning.
  • Improves the condition of blood vessels.
  • Neutralizes point pain (especially in the limbs).

However, castor beans also contain the protein ricin, which is poisonous and deadly to humans and animals. It is concentrated in large quantities in the seeds and fruits of the plant.

Symptoms of ricin poisoning:

  • nausea and vomiting;
  • colic;
  • bloody diarrhea;
  • water balance disturbances;
  • bleeding.

Even after acute attacks of poisoning are relieved, it is not possible to completely restore health, since ricin destroys tissue proteins.

Just six castor bean seeds can fatally poison a child, and twenty can poison an adult.

If you plant castor beans, keep the seeds away from children and do not store them in the kitchen.

Nevertheless, castor oil is extremely indispensable in some medicinal and cosmetic preparations. You should not be afraid of it because of the toxic substances of castor beans - during processing, the poison does not get into the oil, but the beneficial substances remain.

Indications and contraindications

The main indications for consuming oil are:

  • constant prolonged constipation;
  • flatulence;
  • skin diseases (acne, allergic manifestations, eczema);
  • unpleasant odor of sweat, which is not interrupted by deodorants;
  • poisoning;
  • long-term use of medications and resulting intoxication;
  • very strong odor from the mouth, not associated with dental problems.

Castor oil is indicated for many obvious disorders.
Cleansing the intestines with castor oil in just a few days helps to remove extra 3-6 kg. According to reviews, patients began to actively lose weight after the first use, unlike other diets they tried.

Stagnant, hardened feces come out, which cannot but have a positive effect on the health of the entire body.

However, quick cleansing can cause unpleasant effects, such as:

  • weakness;
  • migraine;
  • complete lack of appetite;
  • sometimes vomiting.

Has contraindications
To mitigate the negative consequences during cleaning, you need to drink a lot of warm liquid and be sure to rest - at least three days after the procedure.

Contraindications to taking oil include:

  • fissures in the anus, hemorrhoids;
  • intestinal obstruction;
  • stomach diseases;
  • gastritis in the acute stage;
  • uterine bleeding.

Castor oil for intestinal cleansing can only be taken by adults - it is contraindicated for children under 10-12 years of age or used only under the strict supervision of a pediatrician in small doses.

It is not advisable to drink castor oil during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Also, cleansing should not be done during menstruation - castor oil stimulates uterine contractions and can lead to heavy discharge and extremely painful cramps. For women, it is best to carry out the procedure on the fourth or fifth day after the cessation of menstruation.

pharmachologic effect

When ingested, castor oil is broken down by lipase in the small intestine to form ricinoleic acid. Ricinoleic acid irritates intestinal receptors throughout its entire length, disrupts the transport of electrolytes, and also causes a reflex increase in intestinal motility. Water retention also occurs, which causes increased wave-like movements. Residual oil promotes the movement of stool through the intestines. The laxative effect is not observed immediately; it usually occurs 5-6 hours after taking it. However, after the onset of the effect, constipation is possible.

How to take castor oil for colon cleansing

First of all, you need to remember that treatment requires preparation. A week before cleansing, it is necessary to remove from the diet meat in any form, beans and vegetables that cause increased gas formation - beets, cabbage and raw carrots.

Recommended to be taken with freshly squeezed juices

You need to eat in small portions, the diet is based on rice, stewed vegetables and always freshly squeezed juices from citrus fruits, apples and herbs.

It is better to carry out the procedure during vacation or New Year holidays, since cleaning causes severe weakness. After the procedure, it is advisable to rest for several days, leaving the house for a very short time.

In its pure form, castor oil has a very vile taste and an extremely unpleasant consistency. A spoonful of oil, drunk by itself, in most cases causes a gag reflex, that is, it does not linger in the body.

To enhance the cleaning effect and soften the taste, castor oil is used in different forms and in combination with additional substances.

Emulsion

Emulsion “Recinol” is a unique product. It consists of castor oil and water and is sold in pharmacies. It has a pronounced rejuvenating property, is beneficial for the nervous system, cleanses the body of parasites (viruses, bacteria and fungi) and their toxins.

Castor oil with lemon

Lemon juice (natural) breaks down solid feces, facilitates their exit from the body and thereby enhances the effect of the main component.

To prepare the mixture, drop as many drops of oil into a glass as a person weighs, and add an equal amount of freshly squeezed juice to the resulting mass.

Lemon can be replaced with grapefruit, orange or tangerine juice. Shake the oil and juice and drink in one or two sips.

Lemon softens the unpleasant taste of the oil and makes it easier to ingest.

To improve digestion and cleansing, use with lemon

It is believed that the combination of castor oil with sour juice also starts the process of cleansing the liver. True, you need to take it for at least three days in a row.

With cognac

In addition to directly cleansing the body, the mixture very well removes parasites from the body - protozoa and helminths. The procedure is related to the life cycle of worms, so it is carried out strictly after midnight.

You will need:

  • castor oil – 50ml;
  • cognac – 50ml;
  • green, black or herbal tea with sugar - 1 cup.

At midnight you need to drink a glass of warm tea with two spoons of sugar. Parasites will crawl out to feast on glucose. After 30 minutes, drink cognac in one gulp. After another 30 minutes. – castor oil. After an hour and a half you can go to bed.

One of the recipes includes cognac

The mechanism is based on the fact that parasites paralyzed by cognac will not be able to cling to the intestinal walls and will be released with feces.

It is advisable to repeat the treatment for about 5-6 days in a row to completely get rid of worms.

Also, before the procedure, you should not overeat - for a day you need to switch to eating rice with dried apricots and raisins, and also drink freshly squeezed juice.

With kefir and bran

The recipe is simple but very effective. Mix:

  • a teaspoon of oil;
  • 100ml. fermented milk product, as fresh as possible;
  • a tablespoon of bran.

The effect is serious - after such a “breakfast” you can sit in the toilet all day, so you need to plan cleaning on the weekend.

Taking it with kefir and bran greatly enhances the effect.

The product should be warm - before use, kefir or other fermented milk product (ryazhenka, snowball) can be slightly warmed in a water bath or in the microwave.

With flax oil

You can take any aromatic oil - flaxseed, pumpkin, sesame, olive. Flaxseed is considered the most useful.

The smell of linseed oil will completely eliminate the aroma of castor oil, so it will be easier to drink the product.

To prepare the medicine, mix a teaspoon of oils, pour a glass of hot water, mix thoroughly and drink.

Flaxseed oil together with castor oil has a cleansing and nourishing effect

Doctors recommend drinking a similar mixture in the evening, before bed. However, in this case, the night will be sleepless due to frequent trips to the toilet.

Domestic and foreign analogues

Castor oil in its pure form has a sharp, unpleasant odor and bitter taste, so it can be difficult to drink. When taking the product only as a laxative, it can be replaced with herbal analogues:

  • Analogs of the product - Forlax. Laxative drug with osmotic action. The drug is in powder form, taken orally. The drug is suitable for the treatment of long-term constipation, the duration of which is no more than 3 months. The drug itself is not recommended to be used for too long, more than two to three months. Forlax has a mild effect, so it is approved for pregnant women, indicated during lactation and approved for use by children.
  • Analogues of Castor oil - Regulax. The drug is in the form of drops, taken orally. The active ingredient is sodium picosulfate, the drug acts on the intestines, causing fluctuations in it, which leads to the elimination of constipation. The drug is not absorbed into the stomach and does not affect the liver. Contraindicated during pregnancy; when breastfeeding, it should be taken with great caution. The effect occurs 10-12 hours after use, it is recommended to use it orally before bedtime. The drug is indicated for constipation, if necessary, to regulate bowel movements and to prepare for diagnosis or surgery in the rectum.
  • Analogs of the product - Fortrans. A drug for the treatment of constipation, causes intestinal lavage. Available in powder form. This analogue is taken during pregnancy, is allowed during breastfeeding, but is contraindicated for use in children and people with impaired renal function.

Burdock and rapeseed oils are used as analogues in cosmetology.

Liver cleansing

Liver cleansing is not recommended without consulting a doctor. If there are stones in the kidneys or gall bladder, they can begin to move, which can result in intensive care and emergency surgery for a person.

Castor oil will help cleanse the liver

For cleaning you will need castor oil and lemon juice in the following ratio:

  • 1 drop of castor oil for every kilogram of weight;
  • a glass of warmed lemon juice.

Before the procedure, you must adhere to a diet for three days - without meat, heavy proteins and excess salt.

Every day add 0.5 liters of freshly squeezed apple juice to your diet.

Before going to bed, warm up the whole body - take a bath or go to the bathhouse, sauna. In summer you can sunbathe for about an hour.

In the morning, before cleaning with castor oil, be sure to do an enema (with warm water or chamomile decoction). After a light breakfast, which should include oatmeal with water and a glass of freshly squeezed juice, wait three hours, then take the oil along with lemon juice. Do not eat anything for at least three hours, and it is better to completely abstain from eating until the evening.

Reviews

There are practically no negative reviews from the use of castor oil. If you follow the recommendations - diet, rest after the procedure and a preliminary visit to the therapist - the effect of the treatment is impressive.

Olga, 28 years old

After my second birth I couldn’t lose weight. Stuck - that's all. Oddly enough, my grandmother advised me to try castor oil - she lost weight on it in her youth. I sat on rice with raisins and juice for three days, then cleaned myself with oil and lemon juice.

On the first day I didn’t get off the toilet – it was hard. I didn’t feel like eating for another week - I drank juices, ate oatmeal and dried fruits. It took 5 kg. I’m very pleased, and my complexion has also improved. I will continue cleaning further.

Maria, 45 years old

Menopause began - problems began. Constant constipation, gray face. The weight flew up. Panic is already caused by hot flashes, from impending old age, and then there’s this. I decided to take drastic measures. I took a week at my own expense and fasted on juices for three days before the cleanse. The procedure itself was easy, after the vacation everyone asked where I went - I felt so fresh and prettier. I will definitely repeat it, this time with cognac - to chase away possible worms.

Reviews from doctors about castor oil for colon cleansing are mostly positive. Before cleaning, doctors recommend doing an ultrasound of the kidneys, liver and gallbladder - to exclude the presence of stones - and make sure there are no ulcers or gastritis in the acute stage.

Castor oil - instructions for use

You can buy this natural product at a pharmacy and take it internally or externally for the purpose of treatment and prevention. Before using this medication, you should consult your doctor and carefully study the instructions and general recommendations. If castor oil is purchased, the instructions for use stipulate daily dosages, method of application, course of intensive therapy, possible contraindications and side effects.

For constipation

Intestinal problems can turn into chronic diseases if they are not treated promptly. The method of using castor oil is internally, use as a laxative at home. A single portion of the medicine for adults is 20-30 g, for children - no more than 15 g. If it is a tablet form, for the older generation 3-5 capsules at a time are enough, for children - no more than 2-5 capsules. In the latter case, take castor oil for constipation for 30 minutes, and not all the pills in one gulp.

For face

In this case, it is better to simultaneously use an oil base and take pills internally. Castor oil for the skin provides a sustainable rejuvenating effect, removes increased swelling and any unevenness in the upper layer of the epidermis. If you rub the composition in a thin layer, positive dynamics are observed after the second procedure at home.

For hair growth

If your strands have become dull and brittle, and your curls are noticeably thinning, it’s time to think about alternative medicine recipes. For example, a hair mask with castor oil is highly effective; it only takes a few minutes to prepare. Some women prefer to rub in a pure oil base, while others successfully combine several natural ingredients at once.

Here is a good composition: combine castor oil and water pepper tincture in equal proportions. Leave for 7 days, rub the mixture into the hair roots, stimulating increased activity of the hair follicles. In this way, you can prevent hair loss and improve its appearance and structure. If the mask is used correctly, there is no harm to the strands, otherwise you can burn the already weakened roots.

Remember we all used it in the old days? Or maybe this is still on sale? Dip the brush into the oil and comb the eyelashes with it from roots to ends, just like when applying mascara. Although in itself it can also cause allergies. So before any use you need to do tests on the bend of your elbow.

How to drink castor oil for constipation

The ricinoleic acid present in the medicine has an irritating effect, which is why you drink it for constipation; the laxative effect is wonderful! Castor oil can help with this delicate problem in the most severe cases, when other remedies no longer work.

You need to drink castor oil in the amount of 30 grams for an adult; children over 12 years of age are allowed 15 grams of the medicine (maximum dose).

This is a one-time dose that should be taken on an empty stomach at least an hour after eating, preferably before bed.

Treatment lasts a maximum of 3 days, after which it must be stopped.

Price in Russia and Ukraine

The price is extremely low. For a bottle of 30 milliliters you will have to pay about 50 rubles or 10-15 hryvnia. The larger the bottle, the more expensive the medicine will be.

If it is more convenient to be treated with oil in capsules, then it will be about 2-3 times more expensive. It is worth remembering that the price of medicines depends on the pharmacy itself and its location.

The price of those medicinal and cosmetic preparations that contain castor oil can be very different from the oil itself and can be much higher.

Contraindications

With all the beneficial characteristics of castor oil, it also has a number of contraindications. You should stop taking the drug:

  1. in the presence of acute pain in the gastrointestinal tract;
  2. with uterine bleeding;
  3. in the presence of a chronic form of glomerulonephritis and interstitial nephritis;
  4. if there is mechanical intestinal obstruction;
  5. in the presence of acute inflammatory processes such as appendicitis and peritonitis;
  6. during pregnancy and breastfeeding;
  7. elderly people.

It is not recommended to give castor oil to children under 12 years of age.

Overdose

Indeed, castor oil is most often prescribed as a laxative for constipation. Actually, thanks to this property, castor oil initially gained great popularity.

The fact is that our pancreas produces an enzyme called lipase. One of its functions is to help digest fats. The reaction that occurs when castor oil fats interact with lipase leads to the release of that same ricinoleic acid, which acts on the intestines as an irritant.

Due to the specific properties of this acid, castor oil causes intestinal irritation throughout its entire length! The effectiveness of the drug prsoto is amazing - the resulting reflex increase in contraction of the intestinal walls (that is, increased peristalsis) invariably solves the problem of constipation.

In general, it is recommended to assume that 1 gram of castor oil is needed per 1 kilogram of weight. The medicine should be taken once a day for three days. It should be noted here that castor oil is not used if constipation is prolonged or the cause of constipation is mechanical intestinal obstruction! In this case, you need to consult a doctor, look for the cause of the problem, and prescribe individual treatment.

By the way, for short-term constipation, one tablespoon of castor oil is enough, which should be taken before bed. So to speak, a side effect of such treatment is that castor oil literally clears the intestines of various wastes and toxins within a matter of hours.

Throughout life, the human body accumulates from 5 to 18 kg of intestinal stones, mucus, unprocessed food residues, and helminths. This “good” is stored in the small intestine. No enema will reach here. Castor oil has been used for centuries as a universal cleanser and laxative. Even official medicine recognizes the use of castor oil under certain circumstances:

  • Intoxication. The use of a natural laxative makes fecal matter more liquid and removes old accumulations and mucus. Castor bean oil stimulates the liver, dilates the bile ducts, restores the enzymatic properties of bile, and reduces the bilirubin content.
  • Acute constipation. According to statistics, 10% of the world's population suffer from incomplete emptying of the lower gastrointestinal tract and impaired motility of the large and small intestines. Most people face the problem of constipation at a certain age, which is due to a passive lifestyle and dietary errors. Castor oil is a safe natural laxative with minimal side effects. Retention of feces in the intestinal tube is not only the cause of poor health (intoxication), but also causes the development of serious diseases such as diverticulitis and hemorrhoids. The main manifestations of the fact that the ability to remove digestive products is reduced are constipation, flatulence, loss of appetite, and bad breath. These symptoms indicate that it is necessary to cleanse the intestines.
  • Preparation for diagnostic procedures. For some studies, it is important to remove feces from the intestinal tube, due to possible distortion of the analysis results (X-rays of some parts of the spine).
  • Weakness of labor (as an element of complex therapy). There is evidence of increased contractile activity not only of the intestines, but also of the walls of the uterus, stimulating labor. Due to the large number of side effects, this use of castor oil remains questionable.
  • Restoring the balance of essential fatty acids necessary for the full functioning of the body (building cell membranes). The human body is not able to produce these substances on its own, so it is important that they always come in the required quantities from the outside.
  • Elimination of allergic reactions, including skin manifestations of the disease (acne). The presence of a healthy intestine is one of the factors for the proper functioning of the immune system, which is responsible for the occurrence of allergies. Food agents often act as allergens.
  • Inhibition of the growth of fungi of the genus Candida is an important property of castor oil. Being part of the normal microflora of the human intestine, this organism can become a source of various inflammatory reactions and serious diseases. Possessing the enveloping ability and beneficial properties of ricinoleic acid, castor oil prevents the penetration of infectious agents into the upper layers of the intestinal mucosa.
  • It has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects, including on the mucous membranes of the digestive tract. Used to treat chronic forms of colitis and hemorrhoids.
  • Due to the antioxidant properties of castor oil fatty acids, free radicals are neutralized, resulting in rejuvenation of the entire body.
  • Improving the condition of blood vessels. Regular use of castor oil improves the elasticity of vascular walls, stimulates blood flow, and neutralizes blood congestion.
  • Normalization of body weight is achieved by removing excess fluid and intestinal deposits from the body and activating metabolic processes.
  • Parasitic infections. As part of antihelminthic therapy, castor oil is used as an evacuation component to facilitate and accelerate the elimination of parasites.

Doctors do not recommend the use of castor oil in the following cases:

  • chronic constipation;
  • acute inflammatory processes in the intestines (ulcers, appendicitis);
  • complex of symptoms of “acute abdomen”;
  • gallstones, cholecystitis;
  • glomerulonephritis;
  • poisoning with fat-soluble elements, male fern extract;
  • pregnancy period, to avoid premature birth;
  • uterine bleeding;
  • the presence of cardiovascular pathologies, because during cleansing a certain amount of potassium is washed out of the body;
  • lactation;
  • age up to 10–12 years.

The purity of the drug of natural origin does not exclude the occurrence of side effects. All of them are associated either with incorrect dosage or with a specific reaction of the body to individual components of the compound. Undesirable effects appear:

  • indigestion (diarrhea);
  • spastic pain in the epigastric region;
  • dehydration;
  • vomiting;
  • lazy bowel syndrome;

Thanks to the unique combination of components and beneficial properties, this product is actively used in cosmetology, for the healing and restoration of hair, problem skin, eyelashes, eyebrows, relief from stretch marks, scars, scars, acne, warts, papillomas, cellulite. It is also used for:

  • treatment of constipation;
  • bowel cleansing;
  • losing weight;
  • preventing premature aging and toning the body as a whole;
  • relieving muscle pain;
  • relief from arthritis;
  • effective elimination of various types of fungi, ringworm;
  • treatment of colds, flu, bronchitis;
  • healing for hemorrhoids.

In complex therapy, castor oil is used internally for poisoning, toxic food infections, and allergies. It is used for massages and is used in medicinal compresses.

In order not to harm yourself, you should carefully read the instructions and be sure to adhere to the dosages indicated in it, and then the product will only benefit you. But, despite its naturalness, there are a number of contraindications for which it cannot be used. These include:

  • pregnancy and breastfeeding;
  • bleeding in the uterus, intestines, menstruation;
  • chronic and acute glomerulonephritis;
  • chronic constipation, the cause of which is not established;
  • poisoning with fat-soluble substances, benzene, phosphorus, and male fern;
  • individual allergic reactions.

Before starting use, you should consult with doctors and do a test for personal hypersensitivity to the product and its components in order to avoid negative consequences. In addition to the liquid form in bottles, the product is also available in capsules, this makes it much easier for those who experience a gag reflex to take it orally.

The use of oil is indicated for constipation and to stimulate labor.

  • Pregnancy period;
  • Hypersensitivity.

The use of Castor oil is contraindicated in case of poisoning with male fern extract, as well as benzene, phosphorus and other fat-soluble substances.

Castor oil is taken orally for constipation.

Recommended dosage:

  • Adults – 1-2 tablespoons;
  • Children – 1 teaspoon, dessert or tablespoon.

In obstetric practice, to stimulate weak activity of the uterus, it is recommended to take 2 tablespoons and 1 dessert spoon in combination with pituitrin, quinine and other means.

Symptoms of overdose appear when taking Castor oil at a dose of more than 7 g/kg body weight. The most typical of them are dizziness, fainting, hallucinations, kidney dysfunction, sharp spasmodic pain in the abdomen, and diarrhea.

Specific antidotes include loperamide and atropine sulfate. To eliminate signs of overdose, the drug is discontinued and symptomatic therapy is prescribed to eliminate any disturbances in the functioning of the body. It is also recommended to provide replacement of lost electrolytes and fluids (preferably a combination of intravenous and oral administration). If the patient experiences neurotoxic effects, diazepam should be administered at a dose of 5–10 mg intravenously.

According to the instructions, Castor oil is contraindicated during pregnancy. If it is prescribed during lactation, breastfeeding must be stopped.

The drug is used only in children over 12 years of age, which is due to the increased sensitivity of the intestines at a younger age to the effects of irritants and an increased risk of dehydration.
