What to drink to prevent the pancreas

Prevention of the pancreas is a set of measures that must be performed in order to preserve the health of the organ for a long time. You can avoid diseases of the pancreas if you follow a healthy lifestyle, eat right, and, if necessary, take medications that help the pancreas function.

Prevention of the pancreas is a set of measures that must be performed in order to preserve the health of the organ for a long time.

Prevention of pancreatic diseases

Simple nutritional rules and adherence to the regime will help to avoid frequent relapses in chronic pancreatitis and acute inflammatory processes in the organ. So, it is necessary to pay attention to the following three positive factors:

  1. Refusal to drink alcoholic beverages. Alcohol is often the main cause of pancreatitis. Because of it, blockage of blood vessels, intoxication, oxygen starvation, and negative changes in metabolism occur.
  2. Quitting cigarettes. Resins that enter the lungs and blood of a person can cause exacerbation and reduce vascular permeability, and also cause intoxication.
  3. Compliance with a therapeutic diet. This factor is just as important as giving up alcohol. Often inflammation is provoked by unhealthy foods, fast food, overeating, and long breaks between meals.
  4. Sufficient amount of water. Water is a solvent and removes harmful components and breakdown products from the body. Therefore, you need to drink it regularly.
  5. Tracking medication dosages and duration of use. Uncontrolled treatment has a detrimental effect on the gastrointestinal tract.

Comprehensive compliance with these rules will practically guarantee the prolongation of remission in chronic pancreatitis and will prevent the onset of the disease. Prevention for the pancreas and liver should be carried out in combination.

Breathing exercises

To prevent exacerbation, you can perform a simple set of breathing exercises daily. Experts believe that it can improve blood circulation throughout the digestive tract, reduce inflammation, and normalize the flow of bile. The complex is done as follows:

  1. Lie down on a hard surface so that it is comfortable. Inhale deeply, exhale through your mouth and draw in your stomach as much as possible. Hold your breath for 5 seconds.
  2. Inhale, while inflating your stomach as much as possible. Halfway through your inhalation, feel how your diaphragm tightens. Hold your breath for 3 seconds. Continue inhaling until your lungs are completely filled and your stomach is inflated. Hold the breath.
  3. Exhale and draw in your stomach completely.
  4. Repeat the exercise 3-4 times.
  5. After slow breaths, you need to take 3-4 very fast breaths with maximum protrusion and retraction of the abdomen.

When performing exercises, you need to ensure that there is no discomfort or dizziness. Experts recommend performing the complex during an attack of pancreatitis - this will help reduce pain.

Thus, to reduce the risk of occurrence or recurrence of pancreatitis, you just need to properly organize your own life. By following simple rules, you can heal and strengthen your body.

Pancreatitis is one of the most common diseases of our time, which causes a lot of problems for patients.

Treatment of this disease is difficult and requires the patient to follow a diet and take many medications.

Therefore, the only correct solution here is the prevention of pancreatitis.

Prevention of the pancreas: drugs

Prevention of diseases of the stomach and pancreas, as well as relapses of pancreatitis, cannot be done without taking specialized medications. So, it is necessary to use the following types of medications:

  • painkillers (Drotaverine, Baralgin, No-Shpa);
  • anti-inflammatory (Diclofenac);
  • containing a digestive enzyme (Festal, Pancreatin, Mezim).

The list of tablets and solutions for the prevention of pancreatic pathologies may also include anti-enzyme medications: Almagel, Creon, Enzyme. The listed drugs can relieve the main symptoms of inflammation, as well as remove excess load from the pancreas. They are also useful to drink for heartburn and high acidity.

What you should know

If pancreatic diseases are present, prevention is as follows. You should definitely adhere to a sense of moderation and avoid anything that is dangerous to your health. This applies to sports and physical activity.

With vigorous exercise, pancreatitis can worsen and cause pain. Therefore, if you have problems with the pancreas, it is necessary to limit physical activity to prevent the condition from worsening.

The most acceptable option is breathing exercises. Before performing any exercises, you should consult a specialist. He can allow or prohibit the complex, or assign his own.

It is worth reducing visits to baths and saunas, because high temperatures can increase swelling, pain and contribute to the development of the inflammatory process.

Bad habits

As mentioned above, alcohol is one of the main causes of inflammation of the pancreas and liver.

According to statistics, seven out of ten cases of the disease occur due to alcohol abuse. They can also cause liver failure and cirrhosis. At the same time, it is often more difficult to treat diseases that arise as a result of habit. In this case, the main symptom of the disorder is yellowing of the sclera and skin.

The harm of smoking should not be underestimated. Constantly entering the body, nicotine can seriously affect inflammation and inhibit the processes of tissue repair in the organ.

In addition, smoking interferes with the normal production of enzymes, impairs metabolism and disrupts hormonal levels. The combination of bad habits with eating fatty and unhealthy foods inevitably leads to a deterioration in the condition of the gastrointestinal tract.

Taking into account the role of nutritional factors in the primary prevention of CP, it is necessary to follow the algorithm of recommendations for a healthy diet:

  • eating a variety of foods;
  • balance the amount of food consumed with physical activity;
  • maintaining normal body weight;
  • choosing a diet with plenty of grain products, vegetables and fruits;
  • choosing foods low in fat, saturated fat and cholesterol;
  • choosing foods with moderate sugar content;
  • choosing food with moderate amounts of table salt;
  • if you drink alcoholic beverages, do so in small doses;
  • to give up smoking.

Secondary prevention of CP, aimed at eliminating factors contributing to the recurrence and/or progression of CP, is carried out as part of clinical observation.

Dispensary observation of patients with CP is carried out in the clinic by a therapist and a gastroenterologist with strict adherence to continuity between these specialists, and, if necessary, with a surgeon. Patients after pancreatic surgery are observed in the same way as patients with CP.

The main algorithm for monitoring the patient under the rehabilitation program:

  • active call of patients 2-4 times a year, depending on the severity of the disease (patients with mild CP are observed by a local therapist 2 times a year. Patients with moderate and severe CP are under active observation by a gastroenterologist. Control examinations are carried out 3-4 times a year year).
  • assessment of the patient’s general condition, complaints and physical data;
  • conducting control examinations, including studies of the dynamics of pancreatic enzymes in the blood serum, blood sugar concentrations, screening for maldigestion/malabsorption syndromes (full scatological examination, stool examination for elastase 1), ultrasound examination of the pancreas and biliary system.
  • conducting courses of anti-relapse treatment, diet therapy, herbal medicine;
  • With compensation of the chronic process, favorable dynamics and absence of exacerbations for 5 years, patients with CP can be removed from dispensary observation. This, as a rule, applies to patients with so-called secondary CP, if their cause is eliminated (cholelithiasis, stenosis of the major duodenal papilla, etc.).
  • Patients with CP with excretory and endocrine insufficiency who have undergone surgery on the pancreas are subject to lifelong (indefinite) medical examination.

Diet

Proper healthy eating involves eating five to six times a day in small portions, the maximum volume of which should not exceed two hundred to three hundred grams.

In this case, breakfast is a mandatory meal, lunch is the main meal, and dinner should consist of easily digestible foods. Snacks should also be present on a daily basis. They may consist of a small portion of cottage cheese, fruit, “healthy” sandwiches, yogurt, or a handful of nuts.

The last meal should occur no later than two to three hours before bedtime. It is allowed to take a glass of kefir after dinner in the evening to relieve an attack of hunger.

Prevention of pancreatitis includes, first of all, organizing a healthy lifestyle. You need to give up bad habits, follow a daily routine, eat right and engage in feasible physical activity.

The dangers of excess animal fats

Animal fats do not need to be completely excluded from the daily diet. They are contained in the most limited quantities in meat and fish products, and in fermented milk products.

However, their excess, especially after a long fast, can cause another attack of pain in the stomach or right hypochondrium. Thus, a large amount of the substance can provoke inflammatory processes and difficulty digestion.

Excess fat makes the digestive system work harder. Thus, the pancreas secretes much more enzymes than usual, and digestive juices become thicker, impairing the outflow. Thus, the organs begin to digest themselves, increasing inflammatory processes.

Symptoms and treatment of chronic pancreatitis in adults

The pancreas is one of the most important organs of the digestive system. It is responsible for the synthesis of insulin and the production of many enzymes involved in metabolism. In cases where the gland becomes inflamed, it is customary to talk about the occurrence of a disease such as pancreatitis. It can be in a chronic stage or acute. The acute phase of pancreatitis develops due to the fact that cellular digestive enzymes, which are usually in a passive state, are activated under the influence of various factors. This starts the process of digesting its own tissue in the gland.

Useful and harmful products

Among all the dishes and food products, we can distinguish products that are healthy, neutral, and harmful to the functioning of internal organs.

The first group will not only not damage the organ systems, but will also help relieve inflammation and improve the digestive process. The second group, in limited quantities, will keep the internal organs healthy and functioning. The third is prohibited for use due to the possible violations that it provokes.

Healthy and neutral products include:

  1. Cabbage. The vegetable is rich in calcium, phosphorus and magnesium, as well as vitamins C. The high fiber content can improve digestion and reduce the likelihood of tumors and polyps. A large amount of the product can cause flatulence and pain.
  2. Zucchini. The product can be considered neutral because it does not contain irritating fibers and does not burden the pancreas.
  3. Pumpkin. Vitamin A in the vegetable prevents the occurrence of gland and intestinal cancer, and pectin improves the functioning of the digestive system.
  4. Walnuts (maximum dosage – a small handful). They reduce pain and inflammation, saturate the body with unsaturated fats, replenishing their deficiency.
  5. Egg whites. They reduce inflammation and do not burden the pancreas. They are a good source of protein.
  6. Lean meat and fish. Replenish protein and iron reserves in the body.
  7. Cereals. In small quantities, they have a beneficial effect on the quality of digestion.
  8. Fermented milk products. Improves intestinal microflora, replenishes protein deficiency.

Meanwhile, the following foods should be completely excluded from the diet:

  • sweets and confectionery;
  • baked goods;
  • carbonated drinks and alcohol;
  • fresh vegetables high in fiber (radishes, radishes, turnips, garlic);
  • sauces (mayonnaise, mustard, tomato);
  • strong coffee, teas;
  • legumes;
  • rich broths.

In small quantities, products from this list will not cause significant harm to the health of the digestive system. But much depends not only on the dosage, but also on the individual characteristics of the patient and the conditions of his treatment.

Prevention of pancreatitis with folk remedies

Traditional medicine, along with other means, can have a beneficial effect on the pancreas and gastrointestinal tract, due to which it is actively used in the prevention of diseases and, in particular, pancreatitis.

Combinations of immortelle, garlic, dill, lemon, parsley, golden mustache and other medicinal plants can be especially beneficial.

The following traditional medicine recipes are known to prevent pancreatic diseases:

  1. Grind three hundred grams of garlic and parsley with the addition of unpeeled lemon and leave for a week. Take half a spoon ten minutes before meals.
  2. Pour a bunch of dill and a spoonful of fennel seeds with a glass of boiling water and leave for an hour. Drink the infusion throughout the day.
  3. Wash and chop two leaves of golden mustache, pour in liters of boiling water and simmer over low heat for twenty minutes. Remove from heat and leave for about half an hour. Take fifty milliliters of herbal infusion before meals.
  4. A chicory drink can be a healthier alternative to coffee. The finished product in powder can be purchased in the store. It is recommended to brew it one teaspoon per glass of boiling water, followed by heating for ten minutes over low heat. In order for the drink to have a therapeutic effect, it should be taken before a meal to ease the functioning of the diseased organ and prevent an attack.

The listed home recipes are as useful and safe as possible for the gallbladder, liver and glands, but before using them you should consult your doctor. It is also important to check the likelihood of allergies due to intolerance to the components of the proposed products.
