Indications for use of Duspatalin, mechanism of action, analogues and features

Researchers in therapeutic action

There are analogues of Duspatalin with different structural compositions, but having the same therapeutic direction. The effectiveness of these medications is no lower than the effectiveness of Duspatalin.

Buscopan

Buscopan is produced in the form of suppositories for rectal use and in tablets. The main component is hyoscine butyl bromide. Buscopan is prescribed for spasms:

  • in the digestive system - intestinal colic;
  • genitourinary organs – colic in the kidneys;
  • with exacerbation of gastric ulcer pathology;
  • gallbladder.

Buscopan application points

Buscopan is not used in the treatment of children under 6 years of age, as well as for the following pathologies:

  • myasthenia gravis;
  • sclerosis of cerebral arteries;
  • megacolon;
  • glaucoma;
  • pulmonary and cerebral edema;
  • BPH;
  • cardiac disorders (arrhythmia);
  • obstruction in the intestines;
  • allergy to medication.

Buscopan can be used in therapy during pregnancy, except for the 1st trimester. During lactation, you need to switch the baby to formula feeding and then start therapy.

Take 1-2 tablets three times a day. Suppositories should be inserted into the rectum, 1 piece three times a day. After relieving acute symptoms, take 1 tablet 1-2 times a day for 1-2 days. The same scheme for using suppositories.

Triple mechanism of action of the drug

Negative reactions appear during long-term therapy or with incorrect dosage and are expressed in the following symptoms:

  • dry skin and mucous membranes;
  • skin redness;
  • eczema;
  • arrhythmia;
  • hives;
  • shortness of breath and difficulty breathing;
  • fluid retention in the body.

Dicetel

Dicetel is produced in tablets with the main component - pinaverium bromide. The drug has an antispasmodic effect on pathology, relaxing the muscles of the internal organs, reducing tone, and improving blood supply to the walls of the digestive organs.

Dicetel is used for the symptomatic treatment of pain in the following pathologies of the gastrointestinal tract:

  • gastritis and duodenitis;
  • pylorospasms and enteritis;
  • esophagitis and cholecystitis;
  • intestinal colic;
  • dyskinesia of internal organs.

The medication is also used in preparing the patient for instrumental diagnostics of the epigastric organs (X-ray and endoscopy).

Application and dosage

Dicetel is not used if the patient has the following concomitant diseases:

  • atony and intestinal obstruction;
  • colitis of ulcerative etiology;
  • sensitivity to components;
  • megacolon of toxic type.

It is not recommended to take the medicine before bed. During pregnancy, the medication is prescribed only as a last resort and except for the 1st trimester, and during lactation, taking the medication is possible only after the child has been transferred to artificial feeding.

The medication rarely causes side effects, and only sometimes patients report allergy symptoms, digestive disorders and headaches.

Spascuprel

Homeopathic medicine with an antispasmodic effect on the digestive tract. The herbal medicine is used to relieve spasms of the urinary tract, urinary and gallbladder, intestinal and gastric spasms of smooth muscles. Also, medication is often prescribed to eliminate spasms of muscle fibers.

Do not use the medicine in the treatment of children under 3 years of age, as well as in case of hypersensitivity of the body to the plant components in the herbal medicine. During pregnancy, as well as during lactation, the medication can be used as prescribed by a doctor and under his personal supervision.

Pharmacological action of Spaskuprel

Dosages are prescribed by the doctor personally. Standard dosages are:

  • 1 tablet under the tongue three times a day. Should be taken 30 minutes before meals;
  • in case of a sharp exacerbation of the disease - 1 tablet every 15 minutes for 2 hours;
  • therapeutic course – 14-21 days.

Very rarely, negative reactions to taking the medication occur; sometimes allergies may occur in the form of skin rashes and itching.

Mechanism of action

To understand the mechanism of action and indications of duspatalin, you need to briefly understand why spasm occurs and how muscle cells - myocytes - contract.
Do not hesitate to understand the problem that interests you, we will help. >>>

Spasms are uncontrolled muscle contractions that often result in varying degrees of pain. In order to remove it, it is necessary to weaken nerve impulses transmitting signals to tissues, which, in turn, depend on changes in the concentration of certain ions in the cell and intercellular space.

At this stage, duspatalin works, closing the channel for the entry of sodium ions into the cell, triggering a series of events that stop the spastic effect. At the same time, it reduces the outflow of potassium, locking it inside, this maintains tone at a level sufficient for normal peristalsis. This way a balance is maintained.

Only the smooth cell muscles of the digestive tract and the sphincter of Oddi are affected. The striated muscle, which is responsible for human motor functions, and the muscles of other internal organs are not affected, so there is no feeling of weakness and many other side effects, as with other antispasmodics.

The advantage of duspatalin is the absence of a detrimental effect on the functioning of the intestines. This occurs due to incomplete suppression of contractions, due to which normal peristalsis is maintained. It does not easily remove the spasm in which the movement of the food bolus is difficult, but it also normalizes the physiological function of the digestive tract, eliminating constipation and diarrhea. This feature makes it great for irritable bowel symptoms (IBS).

List of cheap Russian analogues of Duspatalin

Russian analogues of Duspatalin also exist. The tablets contain the important ingredient mebeverine hydrochloride. It is he, being an antispasmodic, that has the desired effect. However, there are chemical compounds that are similar in mechanism. For example, pinaverium bromide or hymecromone. Thanks to this, you can easily find more affordable products at a lower price in any pharmacy.

The question of what to replace Duspatalin is often asked in pharmacies after hearing the price of the drug. More often, a pharmacist or attending physician may suggest the following analogues:

  • No-shpa;
  • Dicetel;
  • Sparex;
  • Odeston;
  • Mebeverine;
  • Dibazol;
  • Trimedat;
  • Drotaverine.

It is difficult to say how effective each of them is. To do this, some of them should be considered in more detail.

Mebeverine

Russian mebeverine is a structural analogue of duspatalin, since their active substance is completely the same. The drug is produced in capsules, the action of which has a prolonged effect. The drug is prescribed for heartburn, nausea, and spastic pain in the epigastrium. The drug is also used for pancreatitis, when the patient develops vomiting. The drug is not recommended for use under 18 years of age. As for possible side effects, they are the same as for duspatalin. The average price of capsules is about 350 rubles.

Sparex

Like mebeverine, sparex is a structural analogue of duspatalin. Indications, contraindications, and side effects are not particularly different. Sparex has a capsule release form. The drug is not recommended for use under 12 years of age. In rare cases, for a short term, the drug is prescribed before this age, for example, with severe pain in the epigastrium. Sparex can be used for gastric ulcers, pancreatitis, colic localized in the liver and kidneys. The price for a package of sparex is about 350 rubles.

Papaverine

The active ingredient is papaverine hydrochloride. The product is successfully used to relieve hepatic and renal colic. Recommended for pylorospasm, cholelithiasis, cerebral vasospasm. The product is available in tablets, suppositories, and solution for injection. Tablets in a dosage of 40 mg No. 20 cost about 60 rubles.

For what pathologies does the doctor prescribe medicine?

Indications for the use of Duspatalin are based on its ability to quickly eliminate pain without reducing the functional activity of all human vital systems, including the gastrointestinal tract. Gastroenterologists prescribe the drug for the following pathological conditions:

  • biliary colic, in which a stone formed in the liver or gall bladder interferes with the outflow of bile;
  • intestinal colic, manifested by severe pain due to the development of a pathological process in the large intestine;
  • decreased functional activity of the gallbladder;
  • spastic contractions of internal organs resulting from the development of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract;
  • intestinal dyskinesia, manifested in peristalsis disorders.

Pancreatitis

Therapeutic indications for Duspatalin include pancreatitis, an inflammatory and degenerative process occurring in the pancreas. This disease often affects people whose diet is dominated by fatty foods. The daily and single dosage of Duspatalin for pancreatitis depends on:

  • on the degree of damage to the pancreas;
  • depending on the stage of the inflammatory process.

The pharmacological drug quickly eliminates the resulting spasms and pain. In addition to the myotropic antispasmodic for pancreatitis, the gastroenterologist always prescribes medications containing proteolytic enzymes.

Stomach ulcer and gastritis

The most common diseases of the gastrointestinal tract include gastritis of any etiology and ulcers. With the development of these pathologies, the absorption of vitamins and nutrients decreases, which causes increased gas formation, deterioration in the appearance and health of a person. He experiences discomfort:

  • aching pain spreading to the lower abdomen and sides;
  • bloating, a feeling of fullness and heaviness in the abdomen;
  • nausea after eating, vomiting.

Before taking Duspatalin, you should make sure that there are no inflammatory processes in the liver. The drug reduces the tone of the intestinal smooth muscle muscles. This leads to the rapid elimination of spasms, pain and other negative stomach diseases.

Cholecystitis

Cholecystitis is an inflammation of the gallbladder, characterized by severe pain that occurs during the formation and passage of stones. The disease often develops under the negative influence of pathogenic microorganisms - viruses or bacteria. Spasm in the gallbladder occurs due to stagnation and thickening of bile against the background of:

  • psycho-emotional overload, nervous disorders;
  • sedentary lifestyle;
  • allergic reactions.

A course of taking Duspatalin does not allow bile to stagnate in the gallbladder and biliary tract, and prevents the formation of inflammatory foci. If the stone begins to move away along the bile duct, then the myotropic antispasmodic relieves pain. Dyskinesia of the gallbladder often occurs against the background of episodic pain in the right hypochondrium and disruption of the autonomic nervous system. Duspatalin for cholecystitis quickly restores gallbladder motility.

Problems with intestinal motility

Elderly people and old people often have difficulty defecating due to decreased tissue elasticity or atrophy of smooth muscle fibers. The consistency of stool changes, and there is no complete bowel movement. Impaired motor function of the small and large intestines does not allow the food bolus to move normally through the gastrointestinal tract. The high effectiveness of Duspatalin in the treatment of the following pathologies has been proven:

  • chronic constipation;
  • diarrhea;
  • increased gas formation;
  • intestinal dysbiosis;
  • chronic colitis.

These conditions are almost always accompanied by spastic spasms with severe pain. A course of taking Duspatalin not only eliminates pain, but also normalizes peristalsis and facilitates bowel movements.

Irritable bowel syndrome

Drug therapy for this not yet fully understood pathology is necessary to eliminate the causes that provoked its development:

  • stress;
  • unbalanced diet;
  • increased anxiety;
  • depression;
  • fatigue.

Such a significant lifestyle change takes quite a long time. To avoid suffering from bloating, peristalsis disorders and painful cramps during this period, gastroenterologists recommend Duspatalin, a medicine for irritable bowels, to patients.

Duspatalin Indications for use

General provisionsThe main focus of the spastic (spasmolytic) action of duspatalin is the digestive organs. As a result of the effect of the drug, the following occurs:

  • relaxation of the smooth muscles of the digestive organs;
  • pain symptoms caused by compression of nerve endings (spasm) are eliminated;
  • the blood supply to the diseased organ, impaired by spasm, improves, i.e. nutrition of the organ is restored.

What diseases does duspatalin treat:

The most effective use of duspatalin in the treatment of the digestive system is

stomach, intestines, pancreas, biliary tract, especially the lower gastrointestinal tract.

For gastrointestinal diseases, gastritis, pancreatitis, cholecystitis, ulcers, etc. inflammation and damage to the mucosa are accompanied by spasms of the smooth muscles of diseased organs, which causes pain. No-spa is usually used to relieve pain. However, in this case it is better to use duspatalin, which is aimed at relieving spasms specifically in the area of the digestive organs.

  1. IBS (irritable bowel syndrome), chronic colitis, dysbacteriosis. The effect of duspatalin is most effective on the muscles of the colon, and natural intestinal motility is not suppressed and, therefore, flatulence, constipation or other unpleasant consequences are not caused.
  2. Chronic gastritis, ulcers and tumors of the stomach and duodenum. As described above, relieving spasms eliminates pain caused by compression of nerve endings, and blood supply to the diseased organ improves.
  3. Chronic pancreatitis. As a result of relieving spasms of the pancreatic ducts, stagnation is eliminated and pancreatic juice flows out, which avoids the occurrence of pancreatic necrosis (self-digestion of the organ). Read more about this in the next post >>
  4. Diseases of the biliary tract – chronic cholecystitis and cholangitis. As a result of relieving spasms in the bile ducts, stagnation is eliminated and bile flows out, which avoids exacerbations of cholecystitis and cholangitis.

Duspatalin has few contraindications:

  • Allergic reactions;
  • Individual intolerance;
  • Children under 18 years of age (reason: there are not enough clinical trials for this category of patients)
  • Pregnant women (capsules have no obvious contraindications, but should be taken only if strictly prescribed by a doctor for vital indications);
  • Breastfeeding women (no data, if the drug is vital, then breastfeeding should be stopped).

Side effects caused by taking dispatalin:

  • Duspatalin has few contraindications and side effects.
  • Duspatalin (capsules) have fewer contraindications than duspatalin (tablets)

# Duspatalin (capsules) - an individual reaction to the drug, allergies, are possible.

# Duspatalin (tablets) - an individual reaction to the drug, allergies, nausea, headaches and dizziness is possible.

During the treatment period, caution should be exercised during activities that require increased concentration and speed of psychomotor reactions: driving, working at heights and other hazardous activities.

Indications

The main indications of duspatalin are the relief of pain in the stomach and intestines caused by spasms in various pathological conditions and the normalization of tone.

Unlike other antispasmodics (papaverine, no-shpa) it has significant selective activity in relation to the sphincter of Oddi. Prescribed for hypertension, eliminates its dysfunction, biliary and pancreatic colic.

The sphincter of Oddi is a “valve” that extends into the duodenum and regulates the flow of bile and pancreatic juice.

The effectiveness of duspatalin in irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) has been proven by independent studies. Normalizes stool in various types of IBS, accompanied by both chronic diarrhea and constipation.

List of indications:

  • Pain and discomfort caused by cramps in the abdominal area.
  • Biliary colic.
  • Renal colic.
  • Functional disorders of the gastrointestinal tract.
  • As a symptomatic remedy to eliminate pain.
  • Relieving discomfort from irritable bowel syndrome.
  • Sphincter of Oddi dysfunction.
  • Some types of gastritis.

Duspatalin side effects

According to patient reviews and doctors' observations, the medicine is often well tolerated and does not cause negative reactions in the body. On the contrary, many note its high effectiveness and safety, including due to the drug’s ability to quickly exhibit therapeutic activity while maintaining normal intestinal motility. In addition, Duspatalin does not affect smooth muscle vascular walls and has no systemic effects. The components of the drug do not accumulate in tissues and are excreted in urine and bile.

Even with an increase in the dose of Duspatalin, adverse reactions occur with minimal probability, and these include:

  • allergic manifestations (urticaria, Quincke's edema);
  • headache;
  • dizziness;
  • nausea.

With an overdose of mebeverine, there are cases of development of hyperexcitability of the central nervous system. It is worth noting that due to the existing risk of developing side effects during treatment with this drug, it becomes necessary to abandon activities that require increased concentration and speed of psychomotor reactions (for example, driving a car). You also need to keep in mind that when taking alcohol together, the effectiveness of the medicine is significantly reduced.

Side effects and contraindications

Due to its low toxicity, overdose episodes have not been studied. Treatment is standard - gastric lavage.

Duspatalin is usually well tolerated; in rare cases, side effects such as itching, urticaria, dizziness, swelling are possible, due to individual intolerance. In case of prolonged negative symptoms, it is necessary to reconsider the doctor’s prescription and think about changing the medication.

The only absolute contraindication is hypersensitivity to any component of the composition.

Duspatalin analogues

Duspatalin has analogue and synonym drugs.

  • Synonymous drugs contain the same active ingredient. In the case of duspatalin, this is mebevelin.
  • Analogue drugs contain other active components, but the medicinal properties of analogue drugs are similar.

Thus:

# If you want to purchase medications with medicinal properties closer to duspatalin, in which the medicinal properties are realized with the help of mebeveline, then buy drugs synonymous with duspatalin.

Duspatalin synonyms are cheaper than duspatan:

  • Niaspam,
  • Sparex,
  • Mebeverine.

(Niaspam, Sparex are capsules with prolonged action, Mebeverine are tablets)

Since synonymous drugs contain one active substance, they are interchangeable. That is, if the doctor prescribed you one drug, then you can buy another - a synonymous drug. (Everyone has their own reasons for replacement - lack of the drug in the pharmacy or financial problems)

# If you want to purchase a drug with medicinal properties close to duspatalin, but choose the presence of another active component, then buy duspatalin analogue drugs.

Duspatalin analogues are cheaper than duspatan:

  • Bendazole (tablets);
  • Buscopan (tablets);
  • Dibazol (tablets);
  • Dicetel (tablets);
  • Drotaverine hydrochloride (tablets);
  • No-shpa (tablets);
  • Papaverine (tablets);
  • Spascuprel (homeopathic tablets);
  • Trigan (tablets and solution for intramuscular injection);
  • Trigan-D;
  • Trimedat (tablets).

If you can choose synonyms for duspatalin yourself, then choosing duspatalin analogues is more difficult. Let me remind you that duspatalin analogues do not contain mebeveline, but contain another active component (components), but the effect of duspatalin analogues on the body is similar to the effect of duspatalin.

To choose the right analogue of the drug, you need the help of a doctor!

Analogs

Instead of Duspatalin, you can take the following analogues:

  1. Mebeverine is available in extended-release capsules. They are cheaper than the original drug, but when buying a domestic generic you cannot always be sure of its quality. The drug is contraindicated during pregnancy and in case of individual intolerance to its composition.
  2. Niaspam is an Indian drug based on mebeverine, produced in extended-release capsules. They should not be used in children, pregnant or lactating patients.
  3. Dicetel is a substitute for Duspatalin in the pharmacological group. The drug is available in tablets, which are used in the same cases as drugs based on mebeverine. Dicetel can be taken during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
  4. No-spa is a substitute for Duspatalin in the clinical and pharmacological group. The drug in tablets can be used in patients over 6 years of age. The medicine in ampoules cannot be prescribed to minors. No-shpu can be taken according to indications during pregnancy.

How to take Duspatalin

In the form of tablets and in encapsulated form, Duspatalin has different uses, which is explained by the different mass of the active component in them, the unequal duration of action and the speed of onset of the effect. The capsules consist of mebeverine microspheres coated with special substances, due to which the drug in this form is evenly distributed and acts for a long time, gradually being released.

Duspatalin capsules

Let's first consider how to use Duspatalin encapsulated. This form of the drug is taken twice a day, one capsule - morning and evening. The medication should be taken 20 minutes before a meal, it should not be chewed and should be washed down with plenty of clean water (at least half a glass). If for some reason one or more doses are missed, the next dose should take the same amount of medication (200 mg) and continue treatment according to this regimen.

Duspatalin tablets

If the doctor has prescribed tablet Duspatalin, the dosage of the drug is as follows: one tablet three times a day (in the morning, at lunchtime, shortly before bedtime). There is no need to crush, bite, or chew the tablets; for each dose, you must prepare at least 100 ml of clean water at room temperature without gas. The medicine is taken half an hour before eating.

How long to take Duspatalin?

How long Duspatalin can be taken without interruption depends on the time it takes to achieve a positive clinical effect, which is individual for each patient. The drug, regardless of its form, can be used until the spasmodic processes and associated pain completely disappear. There are no restrictions on the duration of use of the medicine. After improvement occurs, Duspatalin must be used for another 3-4 weeks, gradually reducing the dose, which is associated with the prevention of withdrawal syndrome.

Composition of the medicine, its form, description, packaging

We will tell you below whether Duspatalin helps with constipation.

According to the instructions, the mentioned medication is available in the form of opaque and hard gelatin capsules. They have a prolonged action, and also have size No. 1, white color and the marking “245” on the body. White or almost white granules are used as the contents of the capsules.

What does the drug “Duspatalin” contain (not everyone knows what this medicine helps with)? Its main ingredient is mebeverine hydrochloride. In addition, the drug contains auxiliary elements such as ipromellose, magnesium stearate, methacrylic acid, methyl methacrylate, ethyl acrylate copolymer, talc and triacetin. As for the capsule shell, it consists of gelatin and titanium dioxide.

In what packaging is the drug “Duspatalin” produced (only a doctor can tell you whether this drug helps with constipation or not)? According to consumer reviews, the product in question is packaged in blisters and paper packs, respectively.

This drug can also be purchased in the form of tablets with the same active ingredient.

Drotaverine

This antispasmodic has been known to all of us for a long time. Under this trade name it can be bought at any pharmacy for a minimal price (about 20 rubles per pack). However, many continue to take the more advertised and expensive “No-shpu”. Its cost is approximately 120 rubles for the same package of 10 tablets. The active ingredient is the same, drotaverine hydrochloride. Pharmacological action – antispasmodic, myotropic, vasodilator and hypotensive. Effectively relieves spasm of the smooth muscles of internal organs, eliminates various colics. Unlike Duspatalin, it does not act selectively on the intestinal muscles, but on the entire body, so a higher dosage may be required. So for adults it is recommended 0.04-0.08 g 2-5 times a day. The cheapest drug, it can come to the rescue in a number of situations. It can only be partially called an analogue of Duspatalin, since it does not have a targeted effect, nevertheless it can significantly alleviate the patient’s condition.

The importance of the gastrointestinal tract

For a normal existence, a person needs to eat well, a lot and regularly:

  • In the stomach and intestines, food is broken down into simpler components - proteins, fats and carbohydrates;
  • Some of these elements are broken down to release energy to maintain normal life functions;
  • Everything else goes to building muscles and deposition of fatty tissue;
  • The processes of anabolism and catabolism are very important in children, because their body grows and develops only due to the food they receive;
  • The quality of food should always be at the highest level; you cannot skimp on this component of your life.

Any diet is potentially dangerous to health, because no one can guarantee its balance. Of course, we are not talking about medical diets that are prescribed:

  1. For obesity;
  2. Patients with metabolic pathologies;
  3. In case of acute dysfunction of internal organs;
  4. In the postoperative period.

These doctor tables are scientifically proven and contain all the necessary substances

Which is extremely important, because even nutrition that is complete in terms of energy value can lead to the development of vitamin deficiency.

Trimedat

Manufacturer: VALENTA PHARMACEUTIKA PJSC (Russia)

Active ingredient: Trimebutine

Instructions for use

Prices in pharmacies: No current offers

Trimedat is an analogue whose components affect all organs of the digestive tract. The product helps with spasms in the gallbladder, improves peristalsis during constipation, and reduces spasms and pain during diarrhea. Can be used for both adults and children.

Pharmacological group

Duspatalin is a drug with an antispasmodic effect. Pharmacological group – myotropic antispasmodic. The drug has a direct effect on smooth muscle fibers, reducing tone and improving local blood circulation.

Pharmacodynamics

Duspatalin is related to the smooth muscle muscles of the intestines and gallbladder. In this regard, it has a myotropic antispasmodic effect, which manifests itself in a decrease in the tone of intestinal smooth muscle fibers and the sphincter of Oddi (gallbladder sphincter). This causes the elimination of pain and discomfort in the abdominal area due to spasms.

The drug has the greatest affinity for intestinal smooth muscle cells, which makes it possible to effectively use the drug for functional and organic disorders of the small and large intestine. At the same time, Duspatalin does not interfere with intestinal motility and food absorption. Taking the drug does not lead to the development of diarrhea or constipation.

Pharmacokinetics

Duspatalin is 98% absorbed in the digestive tract. The peak dosage in the blood is observed 3 hours after taking the drug orally. The drug is metabolized in the liver to mebeverine alcohol and veratric acid, then to demethylated carboxylic acid. The half-life of carboxylic acid is on average 6 hours. The bioavailability of the drug reaches 100%.

Dusptalin does not penetrate the blood-brain barrier (BBB), the placental barrier, into breast milk. Most of the drug in the form of metabolites is excreted in the urine, a smaller part is excreted through bile and feces.

Cost of medicines

The drug Duspatalin has a cheaper analogue. The original medicine costs approximately 490 rubles for 30 capsules. If we are talking about the absolute Russian substitute “Sparex”, then such tablets will cost you 350 rubles. In this case, you will purchase the same number of capsules – 30 pieces. It is worth noting that the dosage of the drugs described is the same. One tablet contains up to 200 mg of active substance.

The following can be said about the drug "Drotaverine", which is a relative analogue. For 20 capsules of the medicine you will pay only 30 rubles. However, many consumers do not perceive this drug as an analogue of the drug Duspatalin. Therefore, they prefer to choose a composition with the trade name “Sparex”.

Action of the medicine

Mebeverine is a selective myotropic antispasmodic. Its undeniable advantage among all antispasmodics is the ability to maintain normal intestinal motility, while eliminating hypermotility, spasms and pain.

Duspatalin affects muscle cells in two ways:

  • The active component of the product blocks sodium channels of cells. Due to this, the flow of sodium into the cytoplasm is reduced, which prevents the development of smooth muscle spasms.
  • Mebeverine helps to reduce the outflow of potassium ions from cells, due to which hypotension does not develop and natural peristalsis is preserved during its use.

The drug acts only on the smooth muscles of the digestive system, without having a relaxing effect on blood vessels and without exhibiting a systemic effect on the body.

Due to the lack of anticholinergic activity, its use is permitted for:

  • prostatic hyperplasia;
  • urinary retention;
  • glaucoma.

Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding, effects on fertility

Pregnancy There are only very limited data on the use of mebeverine in pregnant women. Data from animal studies are insufficient to assess reproductive toxicity. It is not recommended to use Duspatalin during pregnancy.

Breastfeeding Period There is insufficient information on the excretion of mebeverine or its metabolites into breast milk. Studies of the excretion of mebeverine into milk in animals have not been conducted. Duspatalin should not be taken while breastfeeding.

Fertility There are no clinical data on the effect of the drug on fertility in men or women, but known animal studies have not demonstrated any adverse effects of Duspatalin.

Advantages

  1. Slow release. The duration of action from the dose taken is 15-18 hours (for capsules). The concentration of mebeverine in the blood is kept at a constant level, guaranteeing a stable therapeutic effect. Provided by production technology - microgranulation.
  2. Selective influence directly on the desired muscle cells.
  3. The absence of side effects typical of other antispasmodics and drugs that affect the cholinergic system.
  4. It is not accumulated by the body, does not require dose adjustment in old age, and can also be used for a long time.

Duspatalin analogues and other comparisons

In the modern understanding, “analogs” is not an entirely accurate concept; there are drugs with identical active ingredients (generics), and there are drugs that are similar in effect, but with a different point of application in the human body.

Generics

On the Russian market there are three names containing mebeverine as the main active ingredient:

  • Duspatalin. It is an original drug produced in France by Abbott. The cost is quite high, but the manufacturing technology has advantages over analogues.
  • Sparex. Russian analogue, cheaper than the original. Produced by Kanonpharma, it has the most affordable price.
  • Niaspam. Made in India.

The patient is faced with the question of what is better: Duspatalin or Sparex, or maybe Niaspam? To answer, it is important to know the features of the technological production of drugs, since their chemical composition is almost identical. Duspatalin inside the capsules contains mebeverine microspheres, which are coated with several special layers

The first layer is designed to protect against the acidic environment of the stomach, and the second, internal, to distribute the substance evenly over time (prolongation). Sparex and Niaspam do not have such membranes; their distribution throughout the body and bioavailability are slightly different. You can verify this by carefully studying the “excipients” clause in the composition. All nuances are often important for a full recovery

Duspatalin inside the capsules contains mebeverine microspheres, which are coated with several special layers. All nuances are often important for a full recovery.

Comparison with Trimedat

In addition to different active ingredients, Duspatalin and Trimedat (Trimebutin) have slight differences in indications.

Trimedat also belongs to the group of myotropic antispasmodics, but interacts with other receptors. It works through the nervous regulation of the entire gastrointestinal tract; it can be called more universal. If the symptoms of the disease are vague, it is better to choose it. But if a specific diagnosis is made, such as irritable bowel syndrome, Duspatalin would be a better choice.

When comparing drugs, individual reactions play a big role. It is difficult to say definitively which medication will help better with various diseases, so doctors can alternate them or replace them with each other.

Benefits of the drug

Duspatalin is an antispasmodic with a selective effect. Many well-known drugs, after penetration into the stomach, quickly spread throughout the body, exerting a therapeutic effect on the smooth muscle muscles of tissues and organs. In some cases, the lack of a targeted effect can be harmful to a person who is taking an antispasmodic to reduce pain in the stomach, and the medications affect his kidneys and blood vessels.

This is especially dangerous for people with chronic diseases of the cardiovascular, urinary or nervous systems. When taking antispasmodics, side effects of the drugs’ lack of selective action often occur:

  • arterial hypotension;
  • slowing heart rate;
  • inadequate supply of internal organs and tissues with oxygen.

Duspatalin exhibits a therapeutic effect directly in the intestines and does not affect the functioning of other human vital systems. The risk of side effects from the urinary or cardiovascular system is minimized

Unlike other antispasmodics, Duspatalin can be used for quite a long time, which is very important in the treatment of chronic gastrointestinal diseases

Description: Hard gelatin capsules No. 1, opaque, white, marked “245” on the capsule body. The contents of the capsules are white or almost white granules.

Pharmacotherapeutic group: Antispasmodic

ATX code: A03AA04

Pharmacological properties:

Antispasmodic myotropic action, has a direct effect on the smooth muscles of the gastrointestinal tract. Eliminates spasm without affecting normal intestinal motility. Does not have anticholinergic effects.

This dosage form allows the dosage regimen to be used 2 times a day. Mebeverine is completely metabolized in the human body. The first stage of metabolism is hydrolysis with the formation of veratric acid and mebeverine alcohol. Mebeverine metabolites (veratric acid and mebeverine alcohol) are excreted by the kidneys. Mebeverine alcohol is excreted partly as a carboxylic acid and partly as a demethylated carboxylic acid. The main metabolite circulating in plasma is demethylated carboxylic acid. The steady-state half-life of demethylated carboxylic acid is approximately 5.77 hours. With multiple doses (200 mg twice daily), the maximum concentration of demethylated carboxylic acid in the blood (Cmax) is 804 ng/ml, the time to reach the maximum concentration of demethylated carboxylic acid in blood (Tmax) - about 3 hours. This dosage form of mebeverine has sustained release properties as is evident from its relatively low Cmax value, longer Tmax value and long half-life with optimal bioavailability.

Taking Duspatalin during pregnancy

Antispasmodics are prescribed during pregnancy with increased uterine tone. For this purpose, women are prescribed No-shpa. However, when a spasm passes to the smooth muscles of the intestines, it is better to use Duspatalin. With uterine hypertonicity, this drug will be ineffective.

Duspatalin should also be used during pregnancy if spasm of the sphincter of Oddi is observed. This leads to impaired bile flow and abdominal pain.

Studies have been conducted regarding the effects of Duspatalin on the fetus. During the experiments, it was possible to establish that the drug does not have a negative effect on the child in the womb. Therefore, if a doctor recommends taking a drug during pregnancy, then the benefits of its use outweigh all possible risks. Self-prescription of Duspatalin is unacceptable; consultation with a specialist is mandatory.

During pregnancy, you can only take capsules; tablets are strictly contraindicated during this period. You should not combine Duspatalin with other antispasmodics, for example, Papaverine or No-shpa.

The dose for pregnant women per day is 2 capsules. One of them is taken in the morning, and the second in the evening. The course of treatment continues until there is a noticeable improvement in well-being. The drug is discontinued gradually; for this purpose, drink 1 capsule per day for 14 days. After 14 days, the drug is completely stopped.

Duspatalin is often prescribed to women who, even before conceiving a child, suffered from spasms of the sphincter of Oddi. Often this condition accompanies chronic inflammation of the pancreas or occurs after surgery for resection of the gallbladder.

If a woman experiences a spasm of the smooth muscles of the intestine due to emotional stress, or as a result of errors in the diet, then you can take the medicine once. The cancellation scheme is not practiced in this case.

Contraindications

The drug has a number of significant contraindications, which are recommended to be strictly adhered to. Duspatalin should not be used in patients under twelve years of age. During pregnancy and the postpartum period, it is preferable to take the drug exclusively in capsule form. This is due to the peculiarities of the physiological state of the female body. At the same time, contraindications include individual intolerance to individual components of the composition. It is prohibited to carry out complex treatment with the parallel consumption of drinks containing alcohol.

Instructions for use

Duspatalin in tablet form

The drug is not crushed before oral administration, washed down with plain water. You should take the medicine 30 minutes before meals.

It is permissible to take three tablets per day: in the morning, at lunchtime and in the evening. You should stop taking the drug after you feel better, that is, as soon as the pain stops.

The drug should not be discontinued abruptly. You must adhere to the following scheme:

  • The first 7 days of withdrawal: take the drug 1 tablet in the morning and at lunch, and drink 1/2 tablet in the evening.
  • From days 7 to 14, drink a whole tablet in the morning and evening.
  • From days 14 to 21, take a whole tablet in the morning, and 1/2 of the drug in the evening.
  • From days 21 to 28, take the drug 1 tablet in the morning.

According to this scheme, leading domestic clinicians who treat diseases of the digestive system suggest discontinuing the drug.

Depending on the specific case, the withdrawal regimen may be reviewed by the treating doctor. So, if after reducing the dose of the drug, the patient feels well, then it is possible to reduce the withdrawal regimen to 14 days. If the patient feels unsatisfactory when the dose is reduced by 1 tablet, then it should be reduced by 1/2 tablet. The patient's well-being should be monitored for at least 2 days.

Most experts recommend reducing the dosage by 1/2 tablet. If there is a need for faster withdrawal of the drug, then after 2 days you can again reduce the dosage by 1/2 tablet. Provided that the patient’s well-being does not deteriorate, this regimen should be continued until the end of the week (counting from the first day of dose reduction). If the patient begins to feel worse, then they switch to the classic scheme of stopping the drug. If the trend is positive, you can continue. That is, at the beginning of each subsequent week you will need to reduce the dose by 1/2 tablet, and after 2 days by another 1/2 tablet.

Abrupt withdrawal of the drug is unacceptable.

Duspatalin capsules

Do not chew the capsules, swallow them whole with plain water. The drug is taken 20 minutes before meals, 2 times a day.

The course of treatment is determined by the complete disappearance of pain and spasms. After this, you can begin to gradually reduce the dosage of the drug. Just like tablets, capsules should not be abandoned abruptly. The dosage should be reduced gradually. Drug withdrawal regimen:

  1. For the first 7-14 days, you need to take 1 capsule in the morning.
  2. After 7-14 days, you must stop taking the medicine.

To decide how long before you should stop taking the capsules - 7 or 14 days in advance, you need to take a two-day break after taking 1 capsule per day for a week. If during this time your health does not worsen, then you can completely refuse further treatment. Provided that the patient begins to feel worse, the course of therapy is extended for another 7 days, continuing to take 1 capsule in the morning. Then the drug is abandoned altogether.

Overdose

If a person takes too large a dose of the drug, this will lead to increased nervous excitability. To neutralize the effect of the drug, you should rinse your stomach and take activated charcoal orally. In the future, the patient is indicated for symptomatic treatment.

Mode of application

According to the method of administration, duspatalin primarily refers to drugs for course treatment, although it exhibits an effect from a single dose. It is taken once for rare spasmodic pain in the abdominal area.

The standard dose is 200 mg, 1 capsule twice a day, 20 minutes before meals, without chewing, with water. The duration of use is not regulated; courses of up to several years are allowed.

It is presented on the market in the form of extended-release capsules 200 mg and film-coated tablets 135 mg. According to the instructions, the tablets are more suitable for treating irritable bowels, 1 tablet three times a day.

Children are allowed only from the age of 12; in adolescence, it is indicated to relieve functional disorders, heaviness, and colic. The dosage corresponds to an adult.

Consequences of drinking alcohol

What consequences can cause when used together:

  • reduction in the effectiveness of treatment or obtaining a zero effect;
  • inhibition of the action of the active substance;
  • irritation of the mucous membrane of the gastrointestinal tract;
  • general intoxication of the body;
  • spasms of cerebral vessels;
  • disruption of the bile ducts;
  • deterioration of health;
  • possible stomach bleeding;
  • noise in ears;
  • development of stomach ulcers;
  • nausea;
  • diarrhea for a long time;
  • tachycardia;
  • acute heart failure;
  • slowing down processes in the human nervous system;
  • decreased oxygen in the blood (can lead to breathing problems);
  • fast fatiguability;
  • allergic reactions (urticaria, facial swelling);
  • decreased blood pressure;
  • increased sweating.

What to do if you take alcohol and medication together:

  1. Stop using both substances.
  2. Consult your doctor about further treatment.

You cannot take both substances at the same time. Failure to comply with the condition can lead to the progression of the disease, its transition to a chronic form.

Features of the drug

What is so special about a product like Duspatalin? What does taking this drug help with (medicine analogues are listed below)? As mentioned above, the medication in question, according to the type of effect it produces, belongs to the group of myotropic antispasmodics. The myotropy of this medicine is manifested in its similarity to intestinal smooth muscles. As for the antispasmodic effect of the drug, it lies in the ability to relax the muscles of the mentioned organ, as well as eliminate spasms and pain associated with its strong tension.

Due to the fact that the largest part of smooth muscle cells is located in the large intestine, the effect of this drug is most pronounced in this part of the digestive system.

A decrease in the tone of smooth muscles of the gastrointestinal tract occurs without much effect on its normal peristaltic activity. In other words, the processes of moving food through the intestines and digestion while taking this drug are not disrupted or slowed down. Thus, the drug “Duspatalin” (experts know what this medicine helps with) selectively affects smooth muscles, relieving spasms and pain associated with them.

Kinetic features

After entering the intestines, the medication is absorbed into the systemic circulation and also enters the liver. During the process of biological and chemical transformations, the active substance of this product breaks down into derivatives.

The drug "Duspatalin" is excreted from the patient's body in the form of metabolites, along with urine. Extended-release capsules slowly release essential substances, which ensures that the drug lasts up to 16 hours (after taking a single dose).

special instructions

Duspatalin interacts well with other drugs, therefore it is applicable in complex therapy. Due to indications of the possibility of dizziness, the drug is not recommended to be taken while working with increased attention, or when driving vehicles.

Drinking alcoholic beverages is strictly prohibited. Alcohol serves as an irritant and increases spasms and increases the tone of smooth muscles. Having the opposite effect, it reduces the effectiveness of Duspatalin to zero.

The drug is included in the pharmacological list in “List B”. This means that dispensing in pharmacies is allowed only with a prescription. At home, it is necessary to ensure storage at temperatures below 25 degrees. Suitability can be judged by the presence of a mark on the package. It is 3 years after manufacture.

Contraindications to the use of the drug

Duspatalin is contraindicated in children under 12 years of age in any form. Adolescents under 18 years of age are allowed to use it with caution only in capsules. The drug is prohibited in the treatment of:

  • pregnant women;
  • persons with allergic reactions to mebeverine or other components.

Detailed studies added to the contraindications of fermentopathy in the form of intolerance to milk sugar, congenital deficiency of lactase, sucrase.

It should be emphasized that, in contrast to Duspatalin, antispasmodics of the anticholinergic group are prohibited for the following diseases:

  • colitis;
  • Crohn's disease;
  • bacterial intestinal lesions;
  • distension of the colon.

There are no such contraindications for mebeverine; this is its significant advantage.

Overdose

An overdose is caused by mistakenly taking a high dose of the drug. It is expressed in signs of increased excitability of the brain (insomnia, headache, anxiety). To relieve negative symptoms, use gastric lavage, activated charcoal, Polysorb, Enterosgel, and sedatives.

Possible side effects

Experience with Duspatalin shows that side effects are extremely rare. Of the eight drugs compared on this basis among those used for irritable bowel syndrome, Duspatalin took eighth place.

Negative manifestations may be:

  • dizziness;
  • allergic reaction such as urticaria, asymmetrical swelling of the face, itching;
  • nausea;
  • diarrhea or constipation;
  • headache.

Use during pregnancy

Since the drug does not have a systemic effect on the body and does not change the tone of blood vessels and the uterus, it can be taken by pregnant women. In this case, the doctor must take into account all possible risks to the fetus.

During pregnancy, intestinal spasms, discomfort and flatulence are quite common. Often, with such symptoms, women are recommended to take No-shpa. But it is not always effective enough. Both drugs - Duspatalin and No-shpa - are antispasmodics.

Their difference lies in the breadth of their effects on smooth muscles. If Duspatalin affects only the smooth muscles of the digestive tract, then the influence of No-shpa, in addition to the gastrointestinal tract, extends to the genitourinary, vascular and biliary systems. And this is not always useful during pregnancy. Therefore, if a woman is worried about intestinal discomfort and pain, then it will be more effective and safer to take Duspatalin.

Capsules

20 minutes before meals.

  • 1 week: 1 shell in the morning and evening;
  • Week 2: 1 piece in the morning, 1 microcapsule in the evening; upon achieving positive dynamics, in order to exclude “withdrawal syndrome”:
  • Week 3: 1 shell only in the morning;
  • Week 4: 1 microcapsule per day (morning).

This pattern of adoption is due, first of all, to a gradual decrease in the use of the medication, without sudden jumps, as well as the need to consolidate the therapeutic effect.

The product begins to function within 45 minutes from the start of ingestion.

This scheme is unified. If necessary, the doctor will prescribe an individual course of medication for the patient.

Indications for use

Used for acute and chronic conditions accompanied by spastic pain syndrome.

Attention! Pain can indicate serious health problems and should not be ignored - if you experience frequent pain, consult a doctor.

Use is prescribed for:

  1. Digestive pathologies (colitis, enteritis, gastric and duodenal ulcers, reflux esophagitis, gastritis with varying levels of acidity, IBS).
  2. Intestinal colic.
  3. Diseases of the bile ducts, bladder (biliary dyskinesia, cholelithiasis).
  4. Pain of unknown etiology.
  5. Congestion in the gastrointestinal tract and biliary tract.
  6. Spastic pain due to chronic constipation, diarrhea, flatulence.
  7. Intestinal infections, poisoning.

Compatibility of Duspatalin and alcohol

It is important to understand how the body reacts to the combination of two substances. The drug relaxes the intestinal muscles, the result is a decrease in spasms.

An alcoholic drink has the opposite effect. It causes blood vessels to contract, thereby increasing muscle tone. It turns out that the substances have different directions, so their compatibility is zero.

Combination studies have only been conducted in animals. According to some reports, the simultaneous use of substances does not threaten anything serious. But you should not underestimate the harm of alcohol on the human body. It is difficult to recover from any diseases when drinking ethanol.

Dosing

Tablets and capsules contain different amounts of mebeverine, so the doctor prescribes the use in different dosages. Let us give an example of the use of Duspatalin. However, the instructions are given only to study possible side effects; self-medication is dangerous to the patient’s health.

Pills

The tablet form is drunk 15-20 minutes before meals. Under no circumstances should you chew or dissolve the tablet. You need to swallow it whole.

Take one tablet three times in 24 hours and only before meals. The duration of treatment depends on the result achieved; only a qualified specialist can cancel the appointment. The tablets can be used until the patient experiences relief from the antispasmodic condition.

After achieving the effect, the doctor prohibits sudden refusal to use the drug; it is necessary to discontinue the tablet form for up to 30 days. The withdrawal of pills takes place in several stages, which are recommended by the doctor:

  • First week: the patient should take a whole tablet in the morning and at lunch, and half in the evening.
  • In the second week, use the whole tablet twice before breakfast and dinner.
  • Third week: before breakfast, take a whole tablet, and half in the evening.
  • In the fourth week, the patient takes only one tablet in the morning before breakfast.
  • In the fifth week, taking the medication may be stopped.

Capsules

Capsules are used 20-25 minutes before meals. Do not chew the capsule or pour the contents onto a spoon. Take the medicine with plain water. Dosage: use one capsule 2 times in 24 hours, morning and evening, respectively.

The duration of the course directly depends on the positive results of therapy. Can be used until spasm or discomfort disappears completely. You will have to cancel the effects of the funds within 30 days. This is necessary to reduce the risk of withdrawal syndrome and possible relapses.

Operating principle

What is Duspatalin? What does this drug help with? This medication is a myotropic antispasmodic. The analgesic effect of this medicine is based on the suppression of spasms and relaxation of the smooth muscles of the intestines. At the same time, the drug does not affect peristaltic contractions in any way, due to which it ensures complete elimination of pain in the abdomen without slowing down the movement of food masses.

Contraindications

When prescribing the drug, gastroenterologists take into account the contraindications of Duspatalin. The drug should not be taken by people who have individual sensitivity to the active substance or components for the formation of tablets and capsules. The use of Duspatalin is prohibited if the patient has:

  • congenital intolerance to milk sugar;
  • lactase deficiency;
  • sucrase deficiency;
  • glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome.

Duspatalin is not prescribed to children under 18 years of age if it is in tablet form. The drug in capsule form is not used in the treatment of children under 12 years of age.

Features of Duspatalin

The name of the drug Duspatalin Vidal in Latin sounds exactly the same. This medicine will help during the course of treatment if the patient has pain.

It can be used together with:

  1. Ganaton.
  2. Omeprazole.
  3. Buscopan.
  4. Nolpazoy.
  5. De-Nolom.
  6. Pancreatin.
  7. Chophytol.
  8. Odeston.
  9. Creon.

Treatment lasts for a week, but this is a general indication. The doctor selects it for each patient. Duspatalin is not used to treat children under 12 years of age.

When inflammation of the pancreas worsens, the drug is taken once a day, 2 capsules, to relieve pain. At the same time, this dose allows you to relieve spasms and stimulate the movement of bile.

How does it work for constipation?

Duspatalin can help solve this problem. After using it, the patient will feel relief within 24 hours. It will relieve pain and relax the intestines. But as a result of this, another problem may arise, and there will be loose stools and a frequent urge to visit the toilet. Therefore, it is better to get a doctor’s advice and undergo an examination to know the cause of the spasms.

It cannot be used when:

  • hemorrhoids, so as not to cause bleeding;
  • to relieve pain due to appendicitis.

You can buy the medicine at a pharmacy without a doctor's prescription. But at the same time, the patient must know that he has instructions with him.

Price in pharmacies for Duspatalin

Depending on the region, the cost of the drug can vary between 50-1328 rubles .

For example, in Moscow the price for Duspatalin is as follows:

  1. If you purchase capsules, you need to prepare 550 rubles .
  2. Buying tablets will cost 650 rubles .

Mebeverine or Duspatalin - which is better?

These are two similar drugs that are prescribed to cope with spasms in the intestinal tract and pain.

Action of Mebeverine:

  • relieves pain , eliminates spasmodic phenomena in the intestines;
  • restores normal functioning of the digestive organs;
  • eliminates abdominal discomfort caused by irritable bowel syndrome;
  • has a relaxing effect on spasmodic muscles of other organs of the digestive system , provoked by organic disorders.

There are no differences between the products, they are analogues. The production of the medicine takes place both in the CIS countries and abroad. Analogues made here are much cheaper than buying foreign products. Therefore, if the doctor has prescribed a long course, it is recommended to purchase domestic Duspatalin or Mebeverine.

The doctor may prescribe one of the drugs for the treatment of the following pathologies in the digestive tract:

  • imbalance of microflora in the intestines caused by long-term use of antibiotics. Also against this background, chronic colitis may appear;
  • diseases of the liver, gall bladder ;
  • intestinal dysfunction.

If you take the drug correctly, the risk of developing necrosis in the pancreas due to stagnation of secretions is reduced.

Drug interactions

In rare cases, it is used as independent therapy.

Most often prescribed together with other medications for the treatment of gastroenterological diseases:

  • enzyme compositions (Creon, Mezim, Pancreatin, Mikrasim, Panzinorm, etc.);
  • antispasmodics (No-shpa, Papaverine, Buscopan, Dicetel);
  • proton pump inhibitors (Omez, Nolpaza, Omeprazole, Nexium);
  • choleretic agents (Odeston, Allohol);
  • hepatoprotectors (Karsil, Liv-52, Essentiale Forte, Essliver Forte, Heptor, Gepabene);
  • intestinal medications (Trimedat, Lactulose, probiotics, sorbents, antimicrobial agents);
  • antacids (Phosphalugel, Maalox, Gastal, Almagel, Rennie).

The official instructions do not contain information about drug compatibility. However, there is data on clinical studies that were conducted by medical treatment organizations on a voluntary basis. We offer information based on such tests.

DROTAVERINE (NO-SPA) AND PAPAVERINE

They belong to the drugs that preceded the advent of modern antispasmodics like Duspatalin. They have antispasmodic and myotropic effects.

The difference between these tools:

  1. Systemic effects on muscles throughout the body (in blood vessels, uterus).
  2. Typical side effects (low blood pressure, feeling hot, dry mouth, headache, dizziness, heart rhythm disturbances).
  3. Long-term use causes intestinal hypotension and chronic constipation.

It is allowed to be taken together with Drotaverine, Papaverine for severe pain - this combination enhances the analgesic effect. The situation is similar with other antispasmodics - Buscopanan, Dicetel.

Note! Taking antispasmodics together increases the risk of side effects.

OMEPRAZOLE

Trade names: Omez, Ultop, Losek, Ortanol.

Pharmachologic effect:

  1. Inhibits enzymes that promote the production of hydrochloric acid in the stomach.
  2. Reduces the acidity of gastric juice.
  3. Suppresses the growth of Helicobacter pylori.
  4. Eliminates symptoms of diseases of the duodenum, stomach, esophagus.
  5. Heals ulcers, erosions of the mucous membrane.

Used for treatment and prevention:

  • stomach ulcer;
  • gastritis;
  • reflux esophagitis disease.

There are no exact data on the use of Omeprazole and Mebeverine. It can be assumed that the medication will enhance the therapeutic effect of Omeprazole. For safety, a 2-hour interval between the use of tablets and capsules is recommended.

NOLPAZA (PANTOPRAZOLE)

The pharmacological characteristics of the tablets are similar to Omeprazole.

Duspatalin capsules can be taken during treatment with Nolpaza, 1-2 hours after taking the tablets.

ODESTON

Odeston is a choleretic drug.

Is used for:

  • treatment of diseases of the gallbladder, biliary tract;
  • recovery after surgery on the gallbladder, bile ducts;
  • replenishing the lack of bile.

It has a selective effect on the bile ducts and sphincters, without disturbing peristalsis or blood pressure.

The use of Mebeverine enhances the effect of Odeston. To avoid side effects, it is better to take separately - after 2 hours.

TRIMEDAT

Medicine for the treatment of:

  • irritable bowel;
  • gastrointestinal motility disorders;
  • dyspepsia (abdominal pain, nausea, belching, vomiting);
  • postoperative intestinal obstruction;
  • gastritis;
  • esophagitis.

Adapts to the body's needs:

  • with reduced intestinal motility - activates it;
  • with increased tone of the digestive organs - soothes, has an antispasmodic effect;
  • normalizes intestinal motility;
  • regulates the functioning of the sphincters.

Trimedat is well tolerated. If you take it simultaneously with Duspatalin, the antispasmodic and normalizing effect on intestinal motility will increase. In this case, only one side effect is possible - allergic skin reactions.

Trimedat and Duspatalin are drugs whose action is aimed at normalizing the motility of the digestive tract by regulating muscle tone.

Characteristics of the drug

The therapeutic purpose of Duspatalin is to relieve severe painful spasms that occur during inflammatory or destructive processes in the gall bladder, stomach, and intestines. The undoubted advantages of the drug include the ability to relieve pain without reducing the motor activity of the digestive tract. Spasms of internal organs occur in various pathological conditions.

Warning: “Duspatalin is intended exclusively for symptomatic treatment of the gastrointestinal tract. The immediate cause of the disease that provoked the pain can be eliminated by etiotropic treatment.”

Spasms in the stomach or intestines are the result of increased tone of smooth muscle fibers located in the gastric walls. During their appearance, pain of varying intensity occurs, digestion is disrupted, and peristalsis is disrupted. Spasms are localized in any area of the gastrointestinal tract, and they often spread to neighboring areas. A spasm always takes a person by surprise:

  • develops sharply;
  • is paroxysmal in nature;
  • continues for several minutes.

At this time, the person experiences such severe pain that he is not even able to change his body position. If spasms often bother a person, and their occurrence is associated with eating or increased physical activity, then you should contact a gastroenterologist. As a rule, the doctor prescribes Duspatalin to patients to quickly relieve pain during the main treatment.

Treatment regimens

The rules for taking Duspatalin in tablets and capsules are different.

Adults and adolescents are recommended to take tablets 30 minutes before meals. They should be swallowed whole, without chewing, and washed down with water (0.5-1 glass).

The average dosage is 1 three times a day. How long to continue treatment will be determined by how you feel. There is no average time course for the drug. Achieving a clinical result (pain relief) is of decisive importance.

If the analgesic effect is not achieved, then the possibility of prolonged use remains. The withdrawal of tablets is carried out gradually over a month:

  • first week - begin to reduce the dose by ½ tablet in the evening;
  • second - 2 tablets remain per day (before breakfast and dinner);
  • third - take ½ tablet in the evening;
  • fourth - take 1 tablet in the morning for 7 days.

The withdrawal regimen can be shortened or lengthened by the attending physician, depending on the individual characteristics of the patient and his state of health. If you abruptly stop using Duspatalin, a pronounced withdrawal syndrome with increased pain occurs. The method is confirmed by the practice of doctors and the observations of scientists.

Capsules are prescribed half an hour before meals, twice a day with a sufficient volume of water. They should also not be chewed or crushed. The withdrawal plan is different from tablets because the capsules cannot be split in half. Therefore, dosage reduction is carried out immediately by refusing to take evening doses for 1-2 weeks. Then they take a break for 2 days to assess their well-being. If the pain does not return, you can completely abandon the drug.

For stomach diseases

The feeling of cramps in the stomach is caused by increased tone of the smooth muscle fibers of the wall. At this time, the passage of food, the processing of gastric juice are disrupted, enzymes and hydrochloric acid are inadequately produced. Typically, gastralgia is associated with food consumption, a sudden onset, lasting from several minutes to 3-4 hours.

In addition to pain, patients complain of heartburn, belching, constant bloating, and nausea. Symptoms are characteristic of gastritis and peptic ulcer. Since Duspatalin does not affect acidity, it can be successfully used for different types of gastritis (hyperacid, anacid, atrophic, erosive), gastroduodenitis. Unlike Duspatalin, anticholinergic drugs are used only for high acidity.

Gastroenterologists prescribe Duspatalin if the patient shows signs of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). It is caused by failure of the cardiac sphincter and reflux of contents into the esophagus with simultaneous symptoms of esophagitis.

Gastroenteritis caused by food and other poisoning is common in practice. Abdominal pain, loose stools, symptoms of intoxication (fever, dizziness) are observed in patients in the initial stages of the disease. During the rehabilitation stage, colic is caused by dysbacteriosis. It takes 2-3 months to treat the disease and its consequences; Duspatalin provides significant assistance. Patients recover faster.

For intestinal diseases

Once in the intestines, Duspatalin microgranules reach the colon and rectum. Removal of convulsive muscle contractions is necessary in the treatment of colitis, including nonspecific ulcerative (UC), proctosigmoiditis; in case of hemorrhoids, it helps to prevent and eliminate pinching of prolapsed nodes by the rectal sphincter.

It is worth noting that smooth muscle fibers form the basis of vascular tone. Relaxation of the venous walls of varicose hemorrhoids is undesirable, especially when bleeding. Therefore, the use of the drug in the treatment of hemorrhoids should be treated with caution.

With dolichosigma, intestinal distension and constipation are not contraindicated for the use of Duspatalin. What is important is the lack of influence on peristaltic contractions. In case of partial adhesive obstruction, the drug will provide pain relief.

For diseases of the gallbladder and biliary tract

The choleretic property of mebeverine is to restore the transport function of the bile ducts. By preventing stagnation of bile, Duspatalin relieves pain caused by spastic contraction in response to the movement of a stone and inflammation. The prescription is especially justified for dyskinesia of the hypertensive type. However, surgeons draw patients' attention to the danger.

Based on the severity of the pain syndrome, the doctor judges the movement of the stone through the ducts. Urgent surgical intervention is necessary if a stone is suspected of perforating the wall. It was noted that the patient's use of Duspatalin reduces the severity of symptoms, leads to an underestimation of the seriousness of the situation, and delays the operation.

Research published in the journal Experimental and Clinical Gastroenterology examines the role of Duspatalin in the treatment of postcholecystectomy syndrome. Up to 40% of operated patients have to be constantly treated for abdominal pain caused by spasm of the sphincter of Oddi.

Experts assign the main role to myotropic antispasmodics. The selectivity of the effects of Duspatalin and the ability of Papaverine to be 20 times higher have been proven. A suggested dosage regimen: 200 mg twice a day a week before surgery and 3 months after it. As a result: pain syndrome was absent in 100% of cases, and dyspepsia with diarrhea and flatulence disappeared in 95% of patients. Moreover, in the control group of persons who did not receive the drug, the figures were 85 and 65%, respectively.

For pancreatitis

Pancreatitis is accompanied by swelling of the pancreas, compression of the excretory ducts and obstructed outflow of secretions into the intestines. At the same time, the borderline sphincter of Oddi is spasmed and worsens the situation. Duspatalin is considered one of the most effective relaxation agents. Improving patency prevents self-digestion of the organ by enzymes.

The dosage of the drug is determined when the exacerbation begins, the degree of damage to the gland and the stage of the disease. In addition to the myotropic antispasmodic, treatment requires compensatory replacement of enzymes and removal of intoxication. During remission of chronic pancreatitis, Duspatalin is prescribed for the purpose of prevention, 1 capsule in the morning and evening for 2 weeks, then 7 days - 1 capsule only in the morning and then discontinued.

Other pathological conditions that cause pain and cramps in the abdomen

The need for mebeverine occurs with any spasm of the smooth muscles of internal organs. In addition to the gastrointestinal tract, these include the bladder and urinary tract. Urologists recommend the drug for spastic pain, pain in the inflamed bladder (cystitis), sphincter spasm, and urolithiasis. The danger in such cases is similar to the advancement of a stone along the biliary tract.

Gynecologists prescribe Duspatalin to young women for unclear pain in the premenstrual period before their next period.

Functional diseases are still a poorly studied area. Scientists believe that the most likely cause is increased activity of muscle groups under the influence of hormonal fluctuations. A representative of this group of diseases is irritable bowel syndrome. With it, cramping pain in the abdomen is not associated with disruption of the intestines or stomach. Pathology can be caused by:

  • suffered anxiety, stress;
  • breaks in eating, diet violations;
  • fatigue or depression.

Symptoms continue for a long time. Duspatalin helps in relieving pain.

The medicine is effective for constipation caused by adhesive obstruction and intestinal spasms. If the drug is taken at the initial signs on the first day, it is possible to prevent the development of obstruction.

The principle of correct reception

The occurrence of discomfort in the stomach and intestines is provoked by an increase in the tone of the so-called smooth muscles, which are located on the walls of the organ. Such disorders are most often accompanied by painful spasms of varying intensity. At the same time, the sufferer experiences a negative change in the process of digesting food.

Pain in the stomach

Pain syndrome can be detected in any part of the internal organ; their gradual spread to neighboring areas is not excluded. The pain occurs suddenly and develops sharply. It is characterized by attacks and lasts for a short period of time. In such a situation, the gastroenterologist prescribes the patient a course of Duspatalin, tangible results from taking which are visible after just a few days.

If the drug is used in the form of capsules, chewing them is prohibited. This is due to the fact that the prolonged action is ensured by the shell. If the regular use of the drug Duspatalin is not observed, compensation by increasing the dosage is prohibited.

In the case of carrying out therapeutic measures with the help of tablets, it is recommended to refrain from driving cars, as well as from those activities that require the utmost attention of a person. There are no such restrictions at the time of treatment with capsules.

If discomfort occurs in the body of a teenage patient, it is recommended to take the complex immediately after the appearance of unpleasant symptoms. Subsequent use is carried out before the evening meal. If after a couple of days the disease does not bother the patient, then Duspatalin therapy is stopped. If discomfort signs persist, treatment continues, taking into account the rules for its completion.

No-shpa

Patients during pregnancy deserve special attention. This is due to the fact that the body undergoes significant restructuring. Often, when spasms and pain occur, No-shpa or Papaverine is prescribed, but doctors prefer Duspatalin. The drug allows you to cope with tone in the uterine area and sphincter spasm. Despite the fact that therapy with this complex is permitted during pregnancy and breastfeeding, treatment should be carried out under the supervision of a medical specialist and following all prescribed recommendations. The use of the drug simultaneously with other antispasmodic agents is strictly prohibited.

Duspatalin - description of the drug and its characteristics

Reviews

Victor, surgeon with 12 years of experience

The drug is effective. Has shown itself well in the treatment of gastroenterological diseases and in surgery. All patients who were treated and took Duspatalin noted a positive trend in treatment. There are no side effects. I will continue to use it. Considering that the price corresponds to the quality.

Basil

I have been suffering from chronic pancreatitis for a long time. If you eat the wrong thing or go away from your diet, pain immediately occurs in the abdominal area. It was constant and the pain was severe. The doctor prescribed me Duspatalin. If we highlight the advantages, then the main advantage is the complete implementation of functions to eliminate the uncomfortable condition by expanding the sphincter between the duodenum and intestines, promoting greater secretion of pancreatic juice. But there are also negative aspects: the product is very expensive. Also, due to its ability to relax muscles, there is a frequent urge to defecate.
