These medications can be considered similar, since they have the same active ingredient, bisoprolol. The difference between Concor and Concor Cora is that the dosage of the active substance in these drugs is different. In order to understand this issue thoroughly, it is necessary to study the indications for the use of both drugs. To understand which medication is more suitable in a particular situation, Concor or Concor Cor, you should carefully study the instructions for both drugs. Besoprolol is an adrenergic blocker that is necessary for the treatment of many diseases. The dosage of tablets containing this substance is determined only by a doctor.
Concor Cor and pregnancy
Taking the beta blocker "Concor Cor" during pregnancy is possible only in cases where its expected benefit to the mother's health outweighs the possible risk to the developing baby.
Any beta blockers (and Concor Cor among them) reduce the intensity of blood flow in the placenta and thus can have a negative effect on the baby’s intrauterine development. If, nevertheless, the medication is prescribed to a pregnant woman, health workers should constantly monitor blood flow in the placenta and uterus, as well as monitor the growth and development of the child. If any negative factors appear for the woman and child, it is necessary to move on to other, alternative methods of treatment.
After birth, the child must be carefully examined. During the first 3 days, the baby's blood glucose levels may decrease, and symptoms of bradycardia (decreased heart rate) may also develop.
As for nursing women, there is no information about the excretion of bisoprolol in breast milk or its safety for the baby. Therefore, if it is necessary to take Concor Cor during this period, it is necessary to decide on the termination of lactation.
Answers to patient questions
Due to its fairly frequent prescription, Concor raises many questions about the specifics of its use.
Can diabetics take Concor?
Bisoprolol in the drug does not disrupt carbohydrate metabolism, unlike non-selective beta blockers. It does not increase or decrease blood glucose levels. But its use for diabetes can enhance the effect of insulin and tablets, as well as mask the signs of a very dangerous complication - a hypoglycemic attack. Its development is indicated by rapid heartbeat, trembling hands, and sweating.
Blood glucose control is a must
All these effects are caused by the activity of the sympathetic system, and Concor eliminates them.
Therefore, a sharp drop in sugar may go unnoticed and lead to fainting. When using the drug, diabetics need to monitor their blood glucose readings more often, remember to eat at the right time, and have a lump of sugar or a spoonful of honey or fruit juice with them. If you are prone to frequent fluctuations in glucose levels, it is better to use drugs from other groups (as recommended by your doctor).
Is it harmful to drink Concor and Lorista at the same time?
Lorista blocks receptors for angiotensin, a substance that has a vasoconstrictor effect. As a result of taking this drug, the arteries dilate and the value of peripheral vascular resistance decreases. Concor also has these properties, but at the same time it reduces the amount of blood ejected from the left ventricle into the aorta. Therefore, their joint action does not contradict each other, which means that they can be drunk together.
Watch the video about Concor and Bisoprolol tablets for hypertension and heart disease:
The combination of a beta blocker (Concor) and a diuretic (Indapamide) is a well-studied combination that can effectively control blood pressure in hypertension. These drugs alleviate the condition of patients and reduce the load on the heart muscle. Asparkam prevents the development of complications that Indapamide causes, namely, increased excretion of potassium from the body.
All medications can be taken in combination without fear of unwanted consequences.
During treatment, my blood pressure has dropped significantly; should I continue taking Concor?
If the drug is prescribed for arterial hypertension, then constant use is usually necessary. Abrupt withdrawal can lead to “rebound” syndrome - pressure increases above the initial values. Severe hypotension is a sign of an incorrectly selected dose. In this case, it should be reduced by 1.25 mg or 2.5 mg per week and drink the required amount, monitoring blood circulation indicators.
Both the initiation of treatment and dose adjustment should be carried out only under medical supervision. If a decision is made to completely stop taking it, this also takes place with a gradual reduction in the dose and switching to another recommended drug.
We recommend reading about adrenergic blockers for hypertension. You will learn about the action of adrenergic blockers, the types of drugs prescribed for pathology, as well as side effects and contraindications for use. And here is more information about the drug Verapamil.
Concor is a medication that lowers blood pressure by blocking the activity of the sympathetic nervous system. It has a selective effect on the heart and arterial walls, does not disrupt the metabolism of fats and carbohydrates, and does not contribute to bronchospasm in therapeutic doses.
Prescribed for hypertension and symptomatic hypertension, especially when combined with angina pectoris and circulatory failure. Increasing and decreasing the dosage should be gradual.

Reviews of drug comparisons
Natalya, 47 years old, St. Petersburg. My husband, who is far from an elderly man, was diagnosed with arrhythmia. The doctor prescribed Concor. The pharmacy sold tablets of 5 and 2.5 mg. We bought 5 mg - there are 30 tablets, the price is 250 rubles. Concor Cor – 195 rubles. It turns out to be more profitable to take 5 mg. The dose prescribed was 2.5 mg, so my husband simply breaks the tablet - this is easy to do, since there is a deep stripe in the middle of the heart. Thus, the package lasted for 2 months.
Nikolay, 63 years old, Yekaterinburg. I was diagnosed with heart failure. Concor was discharged. The minimum dose was prescribed - 1.25 mg per day. I bought Concor Cor - they are only 2.5 mg, and I just need half a tablet. It’s convenient that you can drink it regardless of food, and only once a day. There are no side effects, my health has improved.
The drugs Concor and Concor Cor are analogues that have a powerful therapeutic effect in cardiovascular diseases. Taking medications requires caution, accurately calculated dosage and medical supervision.
Price and analogues
The drug "Concor" in a dosage of 5 mg, sold through a pharmacy, will cost the buyer 350 rubles for 50 tablets; a drug with a dosage of 10 mg will cost 550 rubles.
Those being treated can replace Concor with cheap Russian analogues, but only after agreeing on the replacement with their cardiologist. Analogues of the drug are such drugs as “Biol”, “Coronal”, “Bisogamma”, “Coronal”, “Verapamil”. Be sure to read the instructions before using any drug in your treatment, as the tablets may have other side effects.
Judging by patient reviews, Concor is a fairly effective cardiac drug, but side effects often occur, especially if you change the dosage regimen yourself. The maximum dose should not be exceeded
You should also pay attention to the compatibility of certain drugs; for example, people have noted the development of bradycardia while taking bisoprolol with mefloquine. Drug interactions affect further treatment, read the annotation carefully
Reviews
To understand which medicine to use, you can read reviews from practicing doctors and patients.
Doctors
Larisa Alekseevna, therapist, Moscow: “I prescribe medications to people with cardiovascular diseases. For CHF, I recommend using a dosage of 2.5 mg, since patients with this diagnosis are more susceptible to developing adverse reactions. In other cases, you can use the medicine at 5 or 10 mg.”
Igor Maksimovich, cardiologist, Yekaterinburg: “I often prescribe drugs based on bisoprolol, because they are well tolerated by different categories of patients. If undesirable reactions occur, there is always the opportunity to replace the drugs with analogues. These include drugs such as Bisokard, Coronal, Bisostad, Cordinorm, Bisoprofar, etc. You cannot choose an analogue yourself: you can harm your body and aggravate the course of the disease. It’s better to immediately contact a therapist or cardiologist.”
Andrey Markovich, therapist, Volgograd: “Medicines differ from each other only in dosage. Therefore, you can take any remedy. The main thing is to follow the dosages recommended by the specialist.”
Patients
Polina, 40 years old, Voronezh: “I suffer from chronic heart failure, so I take Concor Cor on an ongoing basis. There are no side effects observed. Perhaps if the dose was increased, the situation would have developed differently, but I follow the doctor’s recommendations.”
Artem, 53 years old, Moscow: “I accidentally bought Concor instead of a drug with a lower dosage. I noticed the error only when side effects appeared. The doctor said it could have ended in an overdose. Therefore, be careful when buying medications in pharmacies.”
Raisa, 55 years old, Kazan: “For me, Concor is the only remedy that helps with IHD. I've been taking the pills for several months, but I haven't noticed any side effects. The drug was even prescribed to my daughter during pregnancy, which allows us to judge its safety.”
Duration of therapy
Taking Concor is long-term: from 2 months. The period for taking the pills is prescribed by the doctor based on the patient’s medical history and examination. The first result is observed within the first 2-5 days of use. The result is achieved in 1-2 months. There is no maximum duration of treatment; it is selected individually by the attending physician. Use for several months and even years does not require a break.
When taking the medicine, blood pressure, heart rate, and fluctuations in heart failure are constantly monitored. Abrupt refusal of Concor is dangerous: a sharp deterioration in the patient’s condition is possible, most typical for coronary artery disease. The dose used should be reduced and minimized gradually. The dosage is halved every week.
Characteristics of Concor
The drug is available in the form of tablets for oral administration. The active ingredients are bisoprolol in the form of hemifumarate and fumarate in a 2:1 ratio. The drug is available in dosages of 5 and 10 mg.
Concor has several therapeutic effects - antiarrhythmic, hypotensive, antianginal. Indicated for use when:
- chronic heart failure;
- hypertension;
- coronary heart disease, including stable angina.
The drug has many contraindications, so it is not recommended to use it without a doctor’s prescription. Concor should not be taken if:
- heart failure - acute and decompensated chronic;
- bradycardia, if the pulse rate is less than 60 beats;
- low blood pressure, if systolic blood pressure is less than 100 mmHg;
- severe bronchial asthma and COPD, including history;
- cardioshock;
- Raynaud's disease;
- individual intolerance to the components of the drug.
The medicine is not prescribed to children and adolescents under 18 years of age. Breastfeeding women should not take the pills. If treatment is necessary, the child is transferred to artificial feeding. During pregnancy, the drug is not prohibited, but only a doctor can decide on the use of the medication.
There are also relative contraindications: liver dysfunction, cardiomyopathy, congenital heart disease, etc.
The daily dose, selected by the doctor individually for each patient, should be taken 1 time in the morning. The tablets are not chewed, but swallowed whole. They must be washed down with enough water. Regardless of the type of disease for which Concor is prescribed, treatment lasts for a long time.
Concor should not be taken in case of heart failure - acute and decompensated chronic.
During therapy, numerous side effects may develop. The cardiovascular, digestive, nervous, reproductive, respiratory, musculoskeletal systems, as well as sensory organs, skin, etc. may react negatively to taking the drug. An allergic reaction most often develops. If unpleasant symptoms appear, you should stop taking the pills and consult a doctor.
special instructions
In addition to side effects and contraindications, there are a number of instructions that must be followed.
In conditions of imminent surgical intervention, you should stop using the antihypertensive drug Concor, this should be done gradually. Otherwise, problems may arise due to a sharp decrease in the effect of the drug on the patient’s body.
You should also strictly monitor the use of other medications, because interactions with other medications can negatively affect the patient’s well-being and the condition of his body.
For people suffering from vision problems, it is necessary to take into account a decrease in the level of tear fluid secreted. This warning is especially relevant for those who wear contact lenses.
The effect of the active substance of an antihypertensive drug may hide disorders in the thyroid gland.
There are no warnings regarding driving while under the influence of Concor. However, there may be an individual reaction of the body to the first dose or its increase; it is not recommended to combine alcohol and medicine, as this can cause impairment of concentration and motor functions.
During pregnancy, taking the antihypertensive drug Concor should be taken with extreme caution, and only if the benefit to the mother's body is greater than the harm. Unconditional refusal to take tablets of the antihypertensive drug Concor should be adhered to during breastfeeding (lactation)
This is due to the transfer of the active substance and auxiliary ingredients from the mother’s body to the child’s body through the blood circulation.
Special Recommendations
To minimize the risks of adverse reactions and complications, hypertensive patients must follow all the doctor’s instructions.
Concor should be taken in accordance with the following recommendations:
- patients are not recommended to abruptly stop taking the drug (in order to complete treatment without harm to the cardiovascular system, the dosage must be reduced gradually);
- if a hypertensive patient is scheduled for surgery, he needs to reduce the dose of the medication a few days before surgery, and completely stop taking the drug two days before (the patient must also notify the anesthesiologist in advance that he is using Concor tablets);
- people taking the drug should regularly visit the doctor so that the doctor can monitor the patient’s blood pressure, heart rate, cardiogram parameters, and the condition of the patient’s kidneys;
- despite the fact that clinical studies have not shown that Concor affects concentration, at the beginning of treatment the patient should be especially careful when driving a car or working with complex mechanisms (the body’s individual reaction to this drug can be unpredictable);
- A hypertensive patient who wears contact lenses should be prepared for the fact that the mucous membrane of his eyes may become drier and more sensitive to foreign bodies when taking an antihypertensive drug.
What is better Concor or Bisprolol? Both drugs have proven high effectiveness in the treatment of hypertension and cardiovascular diseases, but there is a difference between them.
Bisoprolol is one of the widely used cardiac medications. It has a positive effect in the field of cardiology and an acceptable cost. But Bisoprolol also has side effects.
The drug Concor in combination with other drugs can negatively affect the condition of the human body.
Patients are not recommended to take antihypertensive tablets simultaneously with medications containing active substances such as:
- lidocaine;
- flecainide;
- quinidine;
- disopyramide;
- propafenone;
- phenytoin;
- diltiazem;
- clonidine;
- verapamil;
- rilmenidine;
- moxonidine;
- methyldop;
- felodipine;
- amlodipine;
- nifedipine;
- amiodarone;
- mefloquine.
In addition, Concor should be used with extreme caution in combination with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, beta-blockers, insulin and various hypoglycemic agents, parasympathomimetics, cardiac glycosides, barbiturates, antidepressants, etc. A complete list of medications that are undesirable to use with Concor should be used by hypertensive patients. provide the attending physician.
Only careful adherence to the treatment regimen will give the patient the expected therapeutic effect; any deviations from the doctor’s prescriptions can negatively affect not only the cardiovascular system, but also the condition of the entire body.
special instructions
Abrupt discontinuation of the dose may lead to a temporary deterioration in heart function
If withdrawal is necessary, the dose is reduced gradually. At the initial stage of use, medical supervision is required. Patients with diabetes mellitus with significant fluctuations in the concentration of glucose in the blood, as well as patients on a strict diet, undergoing desensitization therapy, having AV blockade of the first degree, Prinzmetal's angina, mild to moderate peripheral arterial circulatory disorders, psoriasis, including a history , the drug is prescribed with caution. For bronchial asthma or COPD, the drug is combined with bronchodilators. For bronchial asthma, an increase in the dose of beta2-adronomimetics may be required. May increase sensitivity to allergens and severity of anaphylactic reactions
Adrenaline therapy does not always give the expected effect. During general anesthesia, the risk of beta-adrenergic receptor blockade should be taken into account. When carrying out planned operations, therapy with Concor drugs should be discontinued gradually, ending use 48 hours before the intervention. The anesthesiologist should be warned about taking Concor. In patients with pheochromocytoma, the drug is prescribed only in combination with alpha-blockers. May mask symptoms of hyperthyroidism. Does not affect the ability to drive vehicles, but due to individual reactions it may be impaired. The risk was particularly significant at the beginning of treatment, after dose changes and with concomitant alcohol consumption.
Concor Cor - what it helps with, release forms
Concor Cor - what the drug helps with and what it is produced in, we’ll talk further. Concor Cor is available only in tablets. It is also worth noting the original design - the tablets are heart-shaped. They are covered with a white coating and there is a mark on both sides, with which it is easy to break the tablet into two parts.
The number of pieces in one package can be from 10 to 30, and the price will vary accordingly. According to these data, the cost of a minimum package of the drug is no more than 170 rubles. The tablets are packaged in special foil blisters.
Unfortunately, due to existing contraindications, it is impossible to purchase Concor Cor without a doctor's prescription.
What does the drug help with? Patients suffering from various cardiac diseases, including arrhythmia, angina pectoris, arterial hypertension, acute or mild heart failure and other heart diseases, are prescribed the drug Concor. Instructions for use, at what pressure to take and other information should be explained to you in detail by your doctor.
The drug should be taken strictly under the supervision of a doctor; the drug Concor should be taken; the dosage should be carefully observed. Otherwise, self-medication will lead to life-threatening consequences.
Doctors usually recommend taking the drug once a day before meals (mainly in the morning, 10-20 minutes after the first meal). Individual selection of dosage is required, starting with the minimum.
The maximum daily dose used should be no more than 10 mg. If manifestations of heart failure become more frequent, you should urgently reduce the dose and consult a doctor for subsequent adjustment.
The medication is taken over a long period of time (from two weeks to several months). Abrupt withdrawal of use can lead to serious problems, so withdrawal from the drug occurs by gradually reducing the dosage.
note
The list of contraindications for the drug is quite long, which once again emphasizes the need to monitor its use with your doctor. Before starting treatment, tests must be taken, thanks to which you can assess the general degree of the patient’s condition and find out about intolerance to any components of the drug.
Contraindications:
- Individual intolerance to the components of the drug.
- Prinzmetal's angina.
- The drug is prohibited for use by minors under 18 years of age.
- For bronchial asthma and any diseases of the upper and lower respiratory tract, using the drug is strictly prohibited.
- Metabolic acidosis.
- Pheochromocytoma.
- Bradycardia in any form of manifestation.
- Shock states of any severity.
- Severe AV block.
- Cardiac failure in decompensated form.
- Some forms of heart failure.
- Collapse.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
Pregnancy and breastfeeding are contraindications to the use of the drug Concor.
The fact is that adrenergic blockers can cause contraction of the muscles of the uterus, and can provoke miscarriage or premature birth. In addition, the possibility of negative effects on the fetus cannot be completely ruled out, since Concor reduces blood flow in the placenta.
Large-scale clinical studies on the use of this drug in pregnant women have not been conducted for obvious reasons. Concor tablets were used to treat pregnant women only in cases where the benefit from the drug was many times greater than the risk of developing pathology in the fetus. But even with this type of use, the drug should be stopped two to three days before the expected birth, and the newborn should be under constant medical supervision for at least three days.
What is the difference in indications?
The difference between Concor and Concor Cor is as follows: a large dosage of the first remedy allows you to treat:
- hypertension (arterial hypertension);
- angina pectoris (angina pectoris);
- coronary heart disease.
Bisoprolol in large quantities effectively relieves the symptoms of heart pathologies without harm to health. The dose of the substance in these cases is calculated individually. When treating heart failure, doctors prescribe a low-dose form, since the initial dose of bisoprolol for the treatment of this disease is 1.25 mg. Later, the patient can, on the recommendation of a cardiologist, switch to 5 or 10 mg tablets.
Large doses of bisoprolol are dangerous for heart failure, therefore, for CHF, a low-dose drug is prescribed for use. To eliminate the symptoms of hypertension and ischemia, the drug is prescribed in combination with other heart medications.
Both drugs are contraindicated in the presence of heart failure in the decompensation phase. In addition, the drugs are not permitted for persons under 18 years of age and should be used with great caution during pregnancy.
During pregnancy, treatment with bisoprolol is permitted only if it is necessary to preserve the health of the mother. Adrenergic blockers have the ability to reduce blood flow in the placenta - and this can have a serious impact on the formation of the fetus and provoke developmental defects. When taking medications of this type during pregnancy or breastfeeding, careful monitoring of the child’s condition and readiness to take action if life is threatened are required.
Effects of beta-blockers on the cardiovascular system
Drug interactions
The tolerability and effectiveness of bisoprolol can be affected by any drugs taken simultaneously (even after a short period of time), so the doctor must be warned about the use of other drugs, including those taken without a prescription.
Not recommended combinations:
- In the treatment of chronic heart failure: class I antiarrhythmic drugs (such as lidocaine, disopyramide, propafenone, phenytoin, quinidine, flecainide), when used simultaneously with bisoprolol, can reduce cardiac contractility and AV conduction.
- For all indications for the use of Concor: slow calcium channel blockers such as verapamil and diltiazem can reduce myocardial contractility and impair AV conduction. With intravenous administration of verapamil, severe arterial hypotension and AV blockade may develop. Centrally acting antihypertensive drugs (moxonidine, methyldopa, rilmenidine, clonidine) can lead to a decrease in cardiac output, a decrease in heart rate, and vasodilation. If their use is abruptly stopped, especially before Concor is discontinued, the risk of developing rebound arterial hypertension increases.
Combinations that require special caution in the treatment of angina pectoris and arterial hypertension: class I antiarrhythmic drugs. Combinations that require special caution, regardless of the indications for use of Concor, due to possible adverse reactions:
Combinations that require special caution, regardless of the indications for use of Concor, due to possible adverse reactions:
- Mefloquine – risk of developing bradycardia;
- Class III antiarrhythmic drugs (for example, amiodarone) - increased AV conduction disturbances;
- Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs - reducing the hypotensive effect of bisoprolol;
- Parasympathomimetics - increased AV conduction disturbances, increased risk of bradycardia;
- General anesthesia agents – risk of cardiodepressive effects leading to arterial hypotension;
- Cardiac glycosides – increase in pulse time and development of bradycardia;
- Beta-adrenergic agonists (for example, isoprenaline, dobutamine) – decrease in the effectiveness of both drugs;
- Antihypertensive drugs and drugs with a possible antihypertensive effect (for example, barbiturates, tricyclic antidepressants, phenothiazines) - increased hypotensive effect of bisoprolol;
- Beta-blockers for local use (for example, eye drops for the treatment of glaucoma) - increased systemic effects of bisoprolol (decreased heart rate, decreased blood pressure);
- Insulin and oral hypoglycemic agents - enhancing their hypoglycemic effect (in this case, the symptoms of hypoglycemia can be suppressed or masked);
- Blockers of slow calcium channels, which are dihydropyridine derivatives (for example, felodipine, nifedipine, amlodipine) - the risk of developing arterial hypertension, in case of CHF - deterioration of the contractile function of the heart;
- Adrenergic agonists affecting α- and β-adrenergic receptors (for example, epinephrine and norepinephrine) - enhancing their vasoconstrictor effect, leading to an increase in blood pressure;
- Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (except type B) - enhance the hypotensive effect of bisoprolol, development of a hypertensive crisis.
Interaction with other drugs and alcohol
Figure 4 - Combination of Concor with other medications
The instructions for the drug Concor describe in some detail the compatibility with other drugs, because there is a list of drugs with which the Concor tandem is prohibited. Concor can be used in conjunction with analogues and generics, but such a combination must be discussed with your doctor so that an overdose does not occur and the blood pressure does not drop below normal levels.
Concor and Amlodipine
Amplodipine is an antihypertensive drug used for high blood pressure. The attending physician may prescribe a similar tandem if he believes that Concor will be ineffective. It is worth remembering that patients with heart failure cannot take Amplodipine and Concor together.
Concor and Arifon
Arifon - a diuretic indapamide - in combination with the beta blocker Concor is an effective complex in the treatment of hypertension. Concor lowers blood pressure, and Arifon reduces the volume of circulating blood, thus protecting the patient from signs of heart failure.
But Arifon has a side effect - it flushes potassium from the body, which can cause hypokalemia.
Concor and Lozap
The active substance of the drug Lozap, losartan potassium, is intended for the treatment of arterial hypertension. That is, it does not allow peripheral vessels to spasm and thereby does not allow blood pressure to rise. Concor and Lozap enhance each other's effects. Concor works to reduce cardiac output, while Lozap dilates arterioles and reduces peripheral pressure. As a result, blood pressure returns to normal.
The combination of drugs Concor and Lozap is most effective when the degree of arterial hypertension is quite high, and treatment with one drug is not so effective.
Concor and Enap
The simultaneous use of Concor and Enap or Enalapril, which are based on the same active ingredient - enalapril, should be prescribed with caution, since the drugs can enhance the effect of each other. So, the instructions say: with the simultaneous use of beta-blockers, methyldopa, nitrates, calcium channel blockers, hydralazine, prazosin, the antihypertensive effect may be enhanced. That is, blood pressure that is already lowered with the help of Concor can decrease further.
Enap is good for kidney disease, excess weight and a history of diabetes. Concor is indicated for use in patients with heart rhythm disturbances, tachycardia, and frequent attacks of angina. But if the resting heart rate is 50 - 60 beats/min, and there are conduction blockades, then you should take Enap, since Concor will only worsen these conditions.
The combined use of Concor and Enalapril lowers blood pressure and slows the progression of complications from the heart and kidneys. If you experience constant weakness, dizziness and fatigue during use, you should immediately inform your doctor.
Concor and Prestarium
Like all other ACE inhibitors, Prestarium goes well with the β1-blocker Concor. They are prescribed in tandem for high blood pressure, when the use of one drug is ineffective, reducing the risk of fatal complications for people with heart failure, obesity, diabetes, and chronic kidney disease.
But the decision to prescribe the combination Concor + Prestarium is made by the attending physician.
Prestarium itself is not as effective a medicine as Concor. If the pressure is 180/105 mmHg. Art., then it must be taken in combination with other drugs for hypertension.
Concor and Moxonidine
Concomitant use of Moxonidine with β-blockers such as Concor is not recommended. This can lead to a decrease in myocardial contractility and increased bradycardia
Concor and Lorista
Lorista is a generic version of the drug Lozap. That is, it contains the same active ingredient as the original drug, but it has not passed all stages of clinical trials. Generic status makes medicines cheaper without losing their properties. Lorista contains valsartan, a drug belonging to the group of sartans, which are prescribed for the development of a dry cough due to ACE inhibitors. The combination of Concor and Lorista is inferior in strength to the combination of Concor and any ACE inhibitor, since Lorista does not reduce the risk of complications of coronary artery disease.
Concor and alcohol
Figure 5 - Drinking alcohol with Concor
It is known that when drinking alcohol, blood vessels dilate for a short time, that is, the heartbeat accelerates. True, after a short amount of time the opposite happens - vasospasm. And a sharp rise in blood pressure is not the most pleasant, but also not the most dangerous, thing that can await a patient taking Concor. The instructions directly state that Concor and alcohol are incompatible. The central nervous system is depressed, and the patient’s psychomotor abilities deteriorate. Also, do not forget that the medicine and alcohol will be excreted through one excretory system - the kidneys. This can lead to organ damage, and in some cases functional impairment may develop. Internal bleeding may begin, a hypertensive crisis, pulmonary edema, and vascular collapse may begin. But the worst result of taking Concor and alcohol together is death.
Therefore, doctors strongly recommend that you stop drinking alcohol while taking Concor.
Instructions for use
Concor (international name Concor) has a number of characteristics specified in the instructions for use. Before using the tablet, you must read the information.
Indications
The basis for prescribing a drug is an accurate diagnosis. Concor, whose indications for use are few, is recommended for:
- Hypertension. It is used for primary and secondary forms of the disease. The decrease in blood pressure is caused by a decrease in heart rate. However, the drug is not recommended for the treatment of hypertension not accompanied by heart pain and other manifestations of coronary artery disease. To the question of whether Concor reduces blood pressure, it is quite possible to give a positive answer, but with a reservation. The full effect is observed after 14 or more days.
- Chronic heart failure. Description Concor reports that the drug is ineffective for heart failure at the stage of decompensation.
- Coronary heart disease. Regular use of tablets can reduce the frequency and severity of ischemic attacks.
In addition, the drug is used at a high risk of developing coronary artery disease and/or death.
With tachycardia
An accelerated heartbeat, leading to pain, is called tachycardia.
This is not a separate disease, but a symptomatic manifestation of some pathological conditions. Mostly occurs against the background of vegetative-vascular dystonia, with incorrect functioning of the endocrine system, arrhythmia, etc. Concor with tachycardia helps to normalize the pulse and heartbeat
However, it should be used with caution in the absence of high blood pressure, as this can lead to:
- excessive decrease in pressure;
- decreased heart rate (bradycardia).
For arrhythmia
According to the World Health Organization, an arrhythmia is a heart rhythm other than the normal sinus rhythm. The difference can be expressed as:
- frequency;
- strength;
- contraction/excitation sequences.
Concor is very effective for cardiac arrhythmia. It helps reduce the automaticity of the heart and reduce the contractility of its tissues. A course of treatment allows you to weaken peripheral vascular resistance. Concor for arrhythmia reduces the likelihood of death due to fatal forms of heart rhythm disturbances.
Dosage
The recommended amount of the drug depends on the established diagnosis. The data is given according to the instructions for use.
Table 3. Variable dosage of Concor, based on the disease being treated
Primary or secondary form of hypertension | You must start taking Concor 5 mg once. In the future, double the amount according to indications. Maximum – 20 mg |
Chronic HF | Used as part of complex treatment. According to the instructions for use, the daily dose is increased gradually from 1.25 to 10 mg. Adjustments are made at intervals of two weeks or more. Maximum dose of Concor – 10 mg |
IHD | Daily from 5 to 10, maximum – 20 mg. |
The dose of Concor 2.5 mg is extremely small for therapy for ischemic heart disease and hypertension. A similar amount is recommended for heart failure. It should be noted that treatment of this disease must be accompanied by regular monitoring of the patient’s health status.
How to use?
To achieve the best results, the instructions for use recommend following certain rules. In particular:
- Take in the morning, at the same time.
- Do not damage the integrity of the tablet. Crushing or grinding is not recommended.
- You can take the medicine regardless of food intake.
- You need to drink a small amount of water.
Are there possible side effects?
A side effect in a person taking this medication is loss of consciousness.
If you take Concor with low blood pressure, a person may notice that blood pressure has dropped to critical limits and loss of consciousness is possible. The most common adverse reactions that occur after drug therapy are presented in the table:
System | Symptoms |
Blood | Signs of bradycardia |
Worsening of heart failure
Feeling of numbness in legs and arms
Sudden and severe decrease in blood pressure
Nervous | Frequent dizziness and pain in the head |
Fainting conditions | |
Prolonged depression | |
Sleep problems | |

Side effects
Based on patient reviews, it has been noted that drug treatment with bisoprolol has a number of side effects (often individual in nature):
- severe fatigue, insomnia, depression;
- from the central nervous system – headaches, dizziness;
- photosensitivity of the eyes, decreased lacrimation (when using contact lenses);
- from the respiratory system - bronchospasms (with bronchial asthma);
- as a reaction of the digestive system - nausea, changes in taste, vomiting, diarrhea;
- in the circulatory system – bradycardia, arrhythmia.
In addition to general side effects, Concor Cor can cause an ambiguous reaction on the part of the skin: increased skin sensitivity, rashes, redness, exanthema, itching, increased sweating, and in rare cases, psoriasis. Much less common are the following: hearing loss, conjunctivitis, hallucinations, muscle cramps, fainting, joint pain.
Possible side effects
Before taking any medication, you must carefully study the instructions. The instructions contain a detailed description of side effects and why they may occur after taking the product.
Side effects include:
- disruptions in the functioning of the heart muscle, manifested by numbness of the limbs, heart rhythm disturbances;
- a sharp decrease in pressure parameters;
- headaches, dizziness;
- insomnia;
- depressive states;
- dry eyes, conjunctivitis;
- allergic runny nose, difficulty breathing;
- stomach upset (constipation, diarrhea);
- nausea, vomiting;
- muscle weakness, cramps;
- in rare cases, problems with potency;
- allergic reactions, manifested by redness of the skin, rash, itching. The course of psoriasis may worsen;
- changes in blood test values.
When combining the drug with alcohol, the patient's condition may worsen, or the drug may not have the stated effect.
Reception scheme
An individual treatment regimen is selected for each case: the degree of development of the pathology and the general health condition of the individual patient are taken into account. The drug is taken 1 time per day at any time, regardless of meals, with a small amount of water. Doctors recommend: taking any medications correctly in the morning.
Attention! Chewing, crushing or crushing the tablet is prohibited!
The abstract is of a recommendatory nature. For hypertensive patients and patients with stable angina, the dosage regimen is selected individually. Start with 5 mg, maximum – 10 mg. In some cases, the daily dose may be increased to 20 mg.
For CNS, an individual dosage regimen is developed with a gradual increase in dose and adjustment if there is a reaction:
Table 1. Regimen for taking Concor for CHF
Period of taking the drug, weeks Daily dose, mg. 1st 1.252nd 2.53rd 3.754-758-117.5s 1210
When using a similar treatment regimen, it is recommended to use Concor Cor tablets, which contain 2.5 mg of the active ingredient; they are easy to divide to achieve the desired dosage.
Is it allowed to take part of the tablet, not the whole one?
The tablet is allowed to be divided in half, but under no circumstances should it be chewed. For high blood pressure, it is not recommended to take one and a half milligrams per day, since this dose is very small and will not be effective at high blood pressure and, as a result, will not be able to reduce the risk of a heart attack.
The medicine should not be taken if your blood pressure is too low or when you feel weak. During treatment with this drug, the pulse should ideally be around 60 beats per minute. With such a pulse and elevated blood pressure, you are not at risk of death due to heart disease. The specialist prescribes the drug with a minimum dose, and at the same time gradually increases the dose.
At the same time, he monitors the patient all the time and watches how the patient’s general well-being changes, whether an allergic reaction or other symptoms occur. If the doctor is already convinced that the drug is effective, the dose is gradually increased for this disease. The manufacturers of this drug advise stopping taking it gradually, reducing the dose each time. In order not to harm your health, this process should take about seven days. It is necessary to gradually reduce the dose of the drug.
There are analogues of this drug. But there is no point in buying such products if the original of this drug is not expensive, available for purchase at any pharmacy. Doctors do not advise drinking alcohol during treatment with this drug, as this can cause complications and negatively affect your overall health.
Experts allow you to take the drug and drink alcohol in small quantities only after two weeks have passed since taking the drug. If the medicine does not lower blood pressure after a while, you should consult a doctor. You need to increase your dose, or the drug itself is not suitable for you, given your general health and physiology. The dosage depends on various reasons: age, weight, general health. Or maybe you need to look at other blood pressure pills.
Only after a thorough examination and passing all the necessary tests is it permissible to take the drug. An individual dose is prescribed for each person, and a treatment method is selected, taking into account the entire physiology and general health of the person.
Contraindications to the use of the drug Concor tablets
What and how to take the medicine correctly was described above, but you should also know that the drug cannot be used for:
- individual intolerance to the main and or auxiliary components, as well as other beta-blockers;
- acute heart failure;
- decompensated heart failure;
- shock conditions caused by cardiac dysfunction;
- sinoatrial block;
- severe bradycardia;
- pronounced decrease in blood pressure;
- bronchial asthma (severe form);
- severe disorders of arterial peripheral circulation;
- chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases;
- metabolic acidosis;
- Raynaud's disease.
Use the medication with caution in conditions such as:
- Prinzmetal's angina;
- diabetes mellitus, which is characterized by significant fluctuations in the amount of glucose in the blood;
- diabetes mellitus (type 1);
- restrictive cardiomyopathy;
- severe liver failure;
- psoriasis;
- congenital heart defects;
- hyperthyroidism;
- carrying out desensitizing treatment in patients who adhere to a strict diet.
Contraindications
Concor should not be used for the following diseases:
- cardiogenic shock;
- acute heart failure;
- chronic heart failure (CHF) in the stage of decompensation, which requires the use of inotropic therapy;
- sinoatrial block;
- atrioventricular (AV) block of II–III degree in patients without a pacemaker;
- severe bradycardia with heart rate less than 60 beats per minute;
- sick sinus syndrome;

- chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in severe form;
- metabolic acidosis;
- pheochromocytoma (without simultaneous use of alpha-blockers);
- age under 18 years;
- breastfeeding period;
- hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
Dosage and method of administration
The instructions for use indicate that Concor is taken orally 1 time/day. The tablets should be taken with a small amount of liquid in the morning before, during or after breakfast. They should not be chewed or ground into powder.
Treatment with Concor is usually long-term.
Chronic heart failure
The standard treatment regimen for chronic heart failure includes the use of ACE inhibitors or angiotensin II receptor antagonists (in case of intolerance to ACE inhibitors), beta-blockers, diuretics and, optionally, cardiac glycosides. At the beginning of treatment of chronic heart failure with Concor, a special titration phase is required under regular medical supervision.
The precondition for treatment with Concor is stable chronic heart failure without signs of exacerbation.
Treatment with Concor begins in accordance with the following titration scheme. Individual adaptation may be required depending on how well the patient tolerates the prescribed dose, i.e. the dose can only be increased if the previous dose was well tolerated.
- To ensure an appropriate titration process, it is recommended to use bisoprolol in the dosage form of 2.5 mg tablets at the initial stages of treatment.
- The recommended starting dose is 1.25 mg 1 time/day. Depending on individual tolerance, the dose should be gradually increased to 2.5 mg, 3.75 mg, 5 mg, 7.5 mg and 10 mg 1 time / day. Each subsequent dose increase should be carried out at least 2 weeks later. If increasing the dose of the drug is poorly tolerated by the patient, then a dose reduction is possible.
- The maximum recommended dose for the treatment of chronic heart failure is 10 mg 1 time / day.
During titration, regular monitoring of blood pressure, heart rate and the severity of symptoms of chronic heart failure is recommended. Worsening of the symptoms of chronic heart failure is possible from the first day of using the drug.
If the patient does not tolerate the maximum recommended dose of the drug, then a gradual dose reduction should be considered.
During the titration phase or after it, a temporary worsening of chronic heart failure, arterial hypotension or bradycardia is possible. In this case, it is recommended, first of all, to adjust the doses of concomitant therapy drugs. It may also be necessary to temporarily reduce the dose of Concor or discontinue it. After stabilization of the patient's condition, the dose should be re-titrated or treatment should be continued.
Arterial hypertension and stable angina
The dose is selected individually, primarily taking into account the heart rate and the patient’s condition.
As a rule, the initial dose is 5 mg 1 time / day. If necessary, the dose can be increased to 10 mg 1 time / day. For the treatment of arterial hypertension and angina pectoris, the maximum recommended dose is 20 mg 1 time / day.
Special patient groups
Elderly patients do not require dose adjustment. Because There is not enough data on the use of the drug Concor in children; it is not recommended to prescribe the drug to children and adolescents under the age of 18 years. For severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance less than 20 ml/min) and in patients with severe liver disease, the maximum daily dose is 10 mg
Increasing the dose in such patients should be carried out with extreme caution. Patients with mild or moderate hepatic or renal dysfunction, as well as elderly patients, usually do not require dosage adjustment.
To date, there is insufficient data regarding the use of Concor in patients with chronic heart failure in combination with type 1 diabetes mellitus, severe renal and/or liver dysfunction, restrictive cardiomyopathy, congenital heart defects or heart valve disease with severe hemodynamic impairment. Also, sufficient data have not yet been obtained regarding patients with chronic heart failure with myocardial infarction within the last 3 months.
Analogs
When choosing analogues, it is important to understand that each of them has its own indications for use, side effects, contraindications, active substances, etc. It is important to consult a doctor and not change the drug yourself.
Which is better: Concor, Bisoprolol, Coronal?
All of these drugs contain the same active substance - bisoprolol. They have similar contraindications and indications for use.
Bisoprolol is used to treat arterial hypertension, tachycardic heart rhythm disorders, ischemia, heart failure and various forms of arrhythmia. It is considered antihypertensive and lowers blood pressure. Patients whose blood pressure is 90 mm or lower (hypotension) are prohibited from taking Bisoprolol. It is easier to tolerate by patients and there is less risk of complications when taking it. This applies to diabetes mellitus, respiratory tract diseases, and hypotension.
Coronal is a generic version of Concor, that is, it has the same spectrum of pharmacological action as the original drug, but differs in strength. Coronal also reduces pain and blood pressure, improves blood supply to the heart muscle, and normalizes heart rhythm. But Coronal does not have such a noticeable effect on the patient’s heart rate.
Which is better: Concor, Betalok Zok, Betalok or Egilok?
The active ingredient in the drugs Betalok ZOK, Betalok and Egilok is the same - metoprolol.
The effectiveness of Concor and Betaloc ZOK in reducing blood pressure and stopping attacks of tachycardia is the same. The duration of the therapeutic effect lasts more than a day. But only a cardiologist has the right to prescribe Concor or Betaloc ZOK, having studied the risk factors, medical history and individual sensitivity of the patient to the components of the drug.
Betaloc is a medicine for hypertension, angina and heart failure. Today it is considered obsolete. He was replaced by Betalok ZOK.
Egilok, like Concor, is effective for high blood pressure, but since the active components are different, there are differences. Compared to Concor, Egilok acts very quickly (15-20 minutes after taking the tablet), but this means that the duration of the therapeutic effect is not so long. The drug should be taken two to three times a day during or after meals.
Which is better: Concor, Nebivolol or Nebilet?
The drugs have a positive effect on the heart with high blood pressure, chronic heart failure, ischemia, tachycardia, but Nebilet and its almost complete analogue Nebivolol are based on the active component - nebivolol, which is capable of dilating peripheral vessels and reducing cardiac output. This adds to its effectiveness as an antihypertensive agent.
The active substance nebivolol promotes the production of nitric oxide, which relaxes blood vessels for a longer period. Unlike Concor, it does not contribute to the patient’s weight gain. Since nebivolol dilates blood vessels, it acts faster, but the effect does not last long.
Nebilet and differing from it solely in the degree of purification and, accordingly, in price, Nebivolol is also used for hypertension and coronary heart disease. But it is contraindicated in patients with low blood pressure, cardiogenic shock, severe heart failure, diseases of the respiratory system and liver. Not for use by children, pregnant and lactating women. Treatment should not be started if you have diabetes, thyroid dysfunction, psoriasis or in old age. Concor is safer for the elderly, children and patients with breathing problems.
Concor or Sotahexal
The active ingredient in Sotahexal, sotalol hydrochloride, copes well with arrhythmia and lowers blood pressure. Contraindicated for use in patients with hypotension.
Sotahexal can cause side effects in the form of bronchospasms, disorders of carbohydrate and lipid metabolism.
Concor, compared to Sotahexal, is easier to tolerate and more effective for patients suffering from chronic heart failure. Also, Concor has a lower risk of complications. This applies to diabetes mellitus (Sotahexal increases hypoglycemia), respiratory diseases, and hypotension. But Sotahexal is more often prescribed for arrhythmic disorders.
Drug interactions
Taking Concor Cor 2.5 mg simultaneously with other medications reduces its tolerability and effectiveness. This occurs when the time interval between taking two medications is short.
If you have diabetes, you need to use the drug carefully - bisoprolol enhances the effect of insulin, masks the symptoms of hypoglycemia (tachycardia, nausea, sweating, tremor, arrhythmia). If surgical treatment is necessary, the drug should be stopped no later than 48 hours before general anesthesia.
Intravenous administration of calcium antagonists (for example, Verapamil) in combination with early use of bisoprolol will lead to the development of arterial hypotension and ventricular obstruction of the heart. Simultaneous use of cardiac glycosides with the drug will increase the duration of the impulse, which will contribute to the appearance of symptoms of bradycardia. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs can reduce the hypotensive effect of the drug.
What is the difference between Concor and Concor Cor?
People with heart pathologies who are prescribed bisoprolol often wonder how Concor differs from Concor Cor, and whether it is possible to replace one medicine with another.
The similarity in the name gives rise to misconceptions. Both drugs are based on the same adrenergic blocker: bisoprolol fumarate. The difference lies in the dose. The medicine Concor Cor contains the smallest amount of active substance among other forms - 2.5 mg, in Concor - 5 or 10 mg of bisoprolol.
Concor differs from Concor Cor in the appearance of the tablets. They are stylized in the shape of a heart: Concor-10 is yellow-orange, and the rest of the forms have a white shell. You can distinguish drugs by their packaging design. The colors on the boxes of forms are different, the dosage is always indicated on the front side.
Concor Cor differs from Concor in its release form:
- the 2.5 mg product is produced in packs of 10, 5 or 3 blisters of 10 tablets;
- 5 and 10 mg preparations can be found in packages of 30, 50 and 90 tablets.
The ingredients of both medications are identical. The composition of the tablets contains a certain dose of bisoprolol and the necessary excipients.
Tablets differ in cost: a high-dose drug has a higher price tag than similar drugs with a low dose of bisoprolol.
Instructions for use Concor method and dosage
Concor tablets are taken orally 1 time per day with a small amount of liquid in the morning before, during or after breakfast. The tablets should not be chewed or crushed into powder. The course of treatment is usually long-term.
Arterial hypertension and stable angina
The dose is adjusted individually taking into account heart rate and the patient's condition. The initial dose is 5-10 mg 1 time per day. For arterial hypertension and angina pectoris, the maximum recommended dose is 20 mg once a day.
Chronic heart failure
The standard treatment regimen for chronic heart failure includes the use of ACE inhibitors or angiotensin II receptor antagonists (in case of intolerance to ACE inhibitors), beta-blockers, diuretics and, optionally, cardiac glycosides. At the beginning of treatment of chronic heart failure, a special titration phase is required under regular medical supervision.
- Prescribed for stable chronic heart failure without signs of exacerbation.
- Treatment begins according to the following titration schedule. Depending on tolerability of the dose, it can be increased.
- To ensure an appropriate titration process, it is recommended to use bisoprolol 2.5 mg in the initial stages of treatment.
- The recommended starting dose is 1.25 mg once daily. If well tolerated, it should be gradually increased to 2.5 mg, 3.75 mg, 5 mg, 7.5 mg and 10 mg once a day with an interval of 2 weeks between dose changes. If the dose is poorly tolerated, it is reduced. The maximum recommended dose for the treatment of chronic heart failure is 10 mg once a day.
- During titration, regular monitoring of blood pressure, heart rate and the severity of symptoms of chronic heart failure is recommended. Worsening of the symptoms of chronic heart failure is possible from the first day of using the drug.
- If the maximum recommended dose is poorly tolerated, it is gradually reduced.
- During the titration phase or after it, a temporary worsening of chronic heart failure, arterial hypotension or bradycardia is possible. In this case, dose adjustment of concomitant therapy drugs is required. It may also be necessary to temporarily reduce the dose of the drug or discontinue it. After stabilization of the condition, re-titration of the dose or continuation of treatment is required.
Composition and effect on the body
As pressure increases, the number of heart muscle contractions per minute increases. During stressful situations, more hormones adrenaline and norepinephrine are released into the blood, which can cause a hypertensive crisis and stroke. The drug "Concor", or "Bisoprolol", acts selectively on the myocardium without affecting other tissues.
The active ingredient of the drug is bisoprolol furamate, which is a beta-blocker; its use helps:
- reduce the heart's need for free oxygen;
- reduce the speed of impulses, stabilize the heartbeat;
- eliminate the phenomena of dystrophy and ischemia in tissues;
- reduce the minute volume of blood in cardiac output, normalizing the supply of muscle fibers with oxygen and glucose;
- eliminate discomfort in the heart area.
Among the additional components of the Concor core are corn starch and calcium hydrogen phosphate, which are necessary for the activity of the drug and the preservation of its medicinal properties. The drug shell is made from a mixture of dimethicone, macrogol, hypromellose and yellow dye.
The drug is produced in the form of tablets, externally decorated with cream-colored hearts. Capsules with a score in the middle of 2.5, 5 and 10 milligrams are packaged in paper packages of 30 to 50 pieces each.
The antihypertensive drug can be stored for 5 years at a temperature of no more than 25 degrees Celsius.
Concurrent use of other drugs
There are a number of medications that are incompatible with Concor. The effectiveness of the drug decreases, and the tolerable (tolerable) dose of bisoprolol changes. You should inform your doctor about taking other medications when prescribing therapy.
The compatibility of Concor and centrally acting antihypertensive drugs is strictly unacceptable. Their combined effect can cause the development of vasodilation as a consequence of disturbances in heart rhythm and cardiac output. But you cannot abruptly stop taking medications from this group: the likelihood of developing recurrent hypertension increases.
At the same time, you should not take any medications of an identical nature: there is a danger of overdose. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs suppress the effect of bisoprolol, treatment is delayed or does not give the desired effect.
Combined use with drugs for general anesthesia increases the likelihood of developing a cardiodepressive state, which provokes arterial hypotension.
It is impossible to purchase medication without a prescription. Uncontrolled use of the drug is unacceptable.
How does it work?
The action of both drugs is based on blocking beta1-adrenergic receptors of the heart and reducing the activity of the sympathoadrenal systems. Even a single dose of bisoprolol leads to:
- reducing pulsation frequency;
- decrease in stroke volume of the heart;
- decrease in oxygen volumes for the heart muscle.
Long-term use leads to a decrease in vascular resistance. The peak effect is 3-4 hours after swallowing the tablet.
Concor and Concor Cor tablets are 90% absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. Excretion occurs with the participation of the liver and kidneys.
The medications have a long-term effect - after taking one “heart” it continues for 24 hours. To maximally reduce high blood pressure, bisoprolol drugs are taken for 2 weeks.
Indications for use
Concor is effective for diseases such as:
- persistently elevated blood pressure (hypertension);
- cardiac arrhythmias;
- IHD (angina pectoris), cardiac trophism disorder;
- chronic heart failure with the addition of glycosides, diuretics;
- auxiliary therapy for myocardial infarction.
Concor improves the quality of life of patients with the listed diseases and extends their years.
Concor and contraindications
The drug is not recommended for use in such pathologies as:
- end-stage heart failure or acute attack of heart failure;
- blockade of the atrioventricular node of the second and third degree;
- violation of the generation of impulses in the sinus node;
- sinoatrial conduction disturbance;
- bradycardia and hypotension of a symptomatic nature;
Concor should not be taken by people who have the following contraindications: hypersensitivity to bisoprolol or other components
- pheochromocytoma;
- metabolic acidosis;
- bronchial asthma;
- allergic reactions to bisoprolol.
If one of the contraindications is detected, Concor is not recommended for use with high blood pressure; you should pay attention to other drugs.
Why is there a strong heartbeat at normal blood pressure?
Judging by the fact that you are reading these lines now, victory in the fight against pressure is not yet on your side...
The consequences of high blood pressure are known to everyone: these are irreversible damage to various organs (heart, brain, kidneys, blood vessels, fundus of the eye). In later stages, coordination is impaired, weakness appears in the arms and legs, vision deteriorates, memory and intelligence are significantly reduced, and a stroke can be triggered.
The heart is a unique organ, the only muscle in the body that can work for decades without breaks or stops. According to research, just under half of all deaths on the planet were caused by heart-related diseases. The leaders are coronary disease and stroke, therefore, it is necessary to pay enough attention to the health of this organ.
At normal blood pressure, a rapid heartbeat is called tachycardia. In humans, it is most often caused by external stimuli:
- emotional stress (fear, excitement, great joy, impressionability, etc.);
- stress and depression;
- intense physical activity;
- lack of sleep;
- noise;
- heat and direct sunlight;
- altitude (being on the surface significantly above sea level).
The following possible reasons include:
- abuse of alcohol, tobacco or drugs;
- drinking caffeinated drinks;
- taking certain medications;
- unhealthy diet (large amounts of fried, fatty foods).
There are also a number of factors that a person cannot independently influence:
- age (older people more often feel increased heartbeat, and in children the heart rate is physiologically increased);
- hormonal changes (menstruation, menopause, menopause, pregnancy, thyroid disease);
- lack of vitamins in the body;
- decreased hemoglobin levels;
- congenital pathologies of the heart or other organs;
- infections.
Certain factors require special attention, and we will look at them in more detail.
Why does a rapid heartbeat with normal blood pressure occur during muscle activity? When the body begins to experience stress, particularly physical stress, it needs resources. Oxygen and beneficial minerals needed by muscles during training must be distributed throughout the human body. Thus, the heart speeds up pumping blood, increasing the number of contractions.
In gyms, trainers always warn to closely monitor your heart rate throughout the workout.
What is a normal heartbeat at normal blood pressure? In a stable state, a person has 60-80 contractions per minute. It's quite easy to measure - feel your pulse on your wrist, time it for 10 seconds, count the number of beats and multiply by 6. This is how you get your indicator. This way you can understand what rapid heartbeat is at normal pressure; if the level exceeds the 100 beat mark, then it becomes dangerous. During training, it is important to combine active exercise with rest.
Psychosomatics is a science that studies the connection between the physical and psychological states of the human body. She discovered long ago that during times of strong emotional stress, her pulse quickens. This phenomenon is inherent in the biological nature of man. In case of excitement and danger, a nerve impulse is sent to the brain, which stimulates the production of adrenaline. It is necessary so that in case of risk a person can escape and be saved.
Even a simple illness such as a cold can cause heart palpitations. The reason for this also lies in the nature of the human body. He is determined to survive. If any infection enters the body, it directs all its efforts to remove it, accelerating all metabolic processes, including blood circulation.
Often, tachycardia during a cold is intertwined with the following diseases and conditions:
- Fever.
- Overdose of caffeine.
- Dehydration.
- Increased blood pressure.
- Diseases of the cardiovascular system.
Remember: rapid heartbeat is not an independent disease, but a symptom of some disease. If you are not pregnant, have not lost weight dramatically, are not an athlete, do not have periods, do not have insomnia and do not have a hormonal imbalance, then you need to consult a doctor.
One of the following specialists will help you:
- Therapist.
- Gynecologist.
- Hematologist.
- Psychologist or psychiatrist.
- Cardiologist.
- Oncologist.
- Infectious disease specialist.
- Neurologist.
- Endocrinologist.
Symptoms
A rapid heartbeat with normal blood pressure may develop suddenly, and the heart rate fluctuations change very quickly.

Reviews from doctors and patients
Men confirm the effectiveness of the drug in the treatment of arterial hypertension. But they also complain about problems with potency when using it. Side effects of Concor Cor should not be ignored.
The comments note that reducing the dosage if the condition improves is allowed only on the recommendation of a doctor and subject to his supervision.
Experts, in turn, write that even in situations where a decision has been made to abandon Concor, you should not immediately stop taking it, as this can cause very dangerous consequences, even death. It is necessary to reduce the dosage of the drug gradually, and this entire process should take at least a week, and preferably more. According to doctors, after each reduction in dosage by 1.25 milligrams, you should carefully monitor your condition and pulse rate.
We looked at the side effects of Concor with long-term use.
Which is better - Concor or Concor Cor?
The drugs differ from each other in the amount of active component and are prescribed for different diseases. Therefore, only a doctor can say which medicine is best to use when diagnosed.
For CHF, it is recommended to use a drug with a lower concentration of bisoprolol. Concor should be used to treat hypertension, angina pectoris and ischemic heart disease.
Specific patient groups
Pathologies of the kidneys or liver. If the degree of deviation is not severe, no dosage adjustment is made. If there is obvious dysfunction of these organs, it is necessary to carefully increase the dosage. The maximum permissible dose is 10 mg/day.
Old age (over 60 years old). Dosage adjustments are not made for different age groups.
Children. Not recommended for use in children under 18 years of age: no experimental research data available.
Due to the lack of data, the drug should be used with caution in patients with CHF in combination with type 1 diabetes mellitus, severe kidney or liver disease, congenital heart or heart valve defects, hemodynamic disorders, restrictive cardiomyopathy, and in the post-infarction period.
Blood pressure lowering agent Nycomed Concor – review
SUPER effective remedy against tachycardia Concor. Helps almost instantly! So why didn’t we get along with this drug?
This spring, after suffering from two acute respiratory viral infections in a row, I began to notice some problems in the functioning of my heart. In addition to tachycardia, I felt some kind of surges in my chest, my heart seemed to jump and beat somewhere in my throat. The doctor ordered me to undergo a full examination, and after daily monitoring it turned out that I had ventricular extrasystoles. I didn’t have them before, and it was they that manifested themselves as such unusual and unpleasant tremors in the chest.
I was prescribed the following treatment.
Today my review will be devoted to the drug Concor.
I usually have low blood pressure, but at the same time I almost always have an elevated pulse. Therefore, the doctor prescribed the drug Concor to me specifically to slow down the heart rate. At first I was prescribed this drug at a dosage of 5 mg, but then the dose had to be significantly reduced (to 1.25 mg).
Concor can be bought at any pharmacy, it is not that expensive, from 150 to 200 rubles , depending on the dosage.
The main active ingredient in it is bisoprolol.
ATTENTION. Concor should only be prescribed by a DOCTOR. It is IMPOSSIBLE to accept it on your own initiative.
After all, this is a very serious medicine with a huge list of contraindications:
Concor tablets look very cute, are heart-shaped, and are quite easy to swallow because of the coating! The tablet can be easily divided in half, and, if necessary, even into four parts.
The doctor prescribed me to take Concor at a dosage of 1.25 mg every morning after breakfast.
In terms of effectiveness, I can tell you that Concor copes with tachycardia perfectly, even in such a minimal dosage. For example, in the morning my blood pressure was 100 over 60, my pulse was 98 . After taking Concor about thirty minutes, I measured my blood pressure again and got this result: the pressure was 98 over 58, and the pulse was 63 . As we can see, Concor did not lower my blood pressure much, but my pulse became much lower.
But for me, the whole problem with taking this drug was that it is mandatory to drink Concor all the time!
Despite the fact that after taking Concor my pulse was normal for a couple of days and there was no need to reduce it further, I still had to take the drug at least in the minimum dosage, because it was strictly forbidden to interrupt the constant intake!
As a result, I began to feel dizzy and feared that at some point I would simply faint.
At the moment, I have stopped taking Concor regularly; I need to select the same effective drug for tachycardia, but only for a single action (not for continuous use).
I also cannot help but note this interesting point: after taking Concor, the drugs Corvalol, Valerian in tablets, etc., which I used to save me earlier with tachycardia, began to help me worse.
The drug Concor has proven to be a VERY effective remedy for tachycardia. But people with low blood pressure should take it with extreme caution! I recommend Concor to people suffering from tachycardia with normal or high blood pressure (of course, only after consulting a doctor). And remember, if you start treatment with Concor, you will have to take it constantly!
The drugs I used to treat heart rhythm problems:
– Glycine (best taken together with Biotredin);
If you do not have heart problems, but tachycardia occurs due to STRESS, then simple breathing exercises can help you!
How to take the medicine?
It is better to take Concor on an empty stomach in the morning. The tablets are not chewable. Treatment begins with minimal doses of 2.5-5 mg once a day. The dosage volume depends on the severity of the disease. If necessary, the dosage of the drug is increased to 10 mg once a day. The highest daily dose is 20 mg. The dosage is selected by the attending physician on an individual basis; it is not recommended to make adjustments to the therapeutic course on your own.
Adverse events
With long-term use of the drug "Concor" patients are at risk of developing the following side effects:
- slow heart rate (bradycardia);
- worsening sign of heart failure;
- headaches, dizziness;
- rarely - bronchospasm;
- dyspeptic disorders, disturbances in stool frequency and consistency;
- allergic reactions;
- excessive drop in blood pressure levels;
- increased fatigue, manifestations of asthenia.

"Concor" from pressure
Have you been struggling with HYPERTENSION for many years without success?
Head of the Institute: “You will be amazed at how easy it is to cure hypertension by taking it every day.
More and more people are being diagnosed with pathologies of the cardiovascular system. If you have hypertension or a regular sharp increase in blood pressure (BP), the patient may be prescribed a medicine called Concor. This is a drug that quickly lowers blood pressure.
Therapeutic effect on the body
If your blood pressure rises or your heart rate increases, adrenaline is released into the blood. Under its influence, the blood vessels narrow, and the bronchi, on the contrary, expand, stimulating an increase in the volume of air entering the lungs. With hypertension, the effect of adrenaline on the body only aggravates the symptoms of the disease. Concor Cor is a medicine for high blood pressure that has the following therapeutic effect on the body:
Our readers successfully use ReCardio to treat hypertension. Seeing how popular this product is, we decided to bring it to your attention. Read more here...
- limits the effect of adrenaline on the heart and nerve endings;
- normalizes heart rhythm;
- dilates blood vessels, normalizing the blood circulation process;
- reduces the intensity of renin (a substance contained in blood serum and responsible for normalizing blood pressure).
These blood pressure pills are gentle. The tonometer readings return to normal 4 hours after taking the capsule. The medicine has a prolonged effect - Concor reduces blood pressure for 24 hours with a single dose. For hypertension, the drug can reduce and maintain normal tonometer readings after a 15-day course.
Release form and composition of the drug
Concor Cor is available in the form of heart-shaped tablets coated with a thin film coating. The main active ingredient of the drug is bisoprolol. These blood pressure tablets are available in two dosages - 5 and 10 mg of the active ingredient. The color of the pill shell differs depending on the concentration of bisoprolol. Hearts of 5 mg each in a delicate lemon-colored shell. Tablets of 10 mg of the substance are beige in color. Additional components:
- titanium dioxide;
- macrogol;
- food colorings;
- Dimethicone
After oral administration, the tablet shell dissolves in the stomach, gradually releasing the active substance. Thanks to this, Concor lowers blood pressure gently and gradually.
Indications for use
Cardiologists prescribe Concor tablets to patients with pathologies of the cardiovascular system, namely:
- hypertension;
- ischemia;
- angina pectoris;
- heart failure.
It is enough to take Concor for blood pressure, one tablet per day. The therapeutic effect lasts 24 hours. The drug gradually lowers blood pressure without causing discomfort (weakness, headache) in hypertensive patients.
Main contraindications
Concor instructions for use prohibit taking it in the presence of the following concomitant pathologies:
- the body's sensitivity to the components of the drug;
- chronic heart failure or its aggravated form;
- Do not take Concor if you have low blood pressure;
- lactation period;
- bronchial diseases (asthma);
- cardiogenic shock;
- disturbance of the circulatory process, if it manifests itself in cold upper or lower extremities);
- metabolic disease;
- hormonal disbalance.
Concor is prescribed for high blood pressure in patients with the following concomitant diseases (under constant medical supervision):
- liver dysfunction;
- diabetes;
- congenital heart disease (or heart valve);
- severe renal failure;
- psoriasis;
- pathologies of the thyroid gland, due to which there is a hormonal imbalance.
People forced to follow a strict diet can take Concor tablets under the constant supervision of a cardiologist. Sometimes patients are interested in whether it is possible to take the drug with low blood pressure. The use of Concor for hypotension is justified only if decreased tonometer readings are accompanied by rapid heartbeat.
Symptoms of drug overdose
If the dosage recommended by the doctor is not followed, Concor can be fatal. A drug overdose is manifested by the following symptoms:
- reduction of heart rate to critically low levels (less than 60 beats per minute);
- unstable heartbeat;
- critically low blood pressure levels;
- swelling, difficulty breathing;
- change in color of nails and skin of extremities;
- weakness, feeling of dry mouth;
- hypoglycemia.
At the first symptoms of an overdose, you must take the sorbent and go to an ambulance for subsequent gastric lavage. The drug has antidotes - medications with the opposite principle of action - “Isoprenaline”, “Atropine”. Complex treatment includes sedatives and diuretics.
Side effects on the body
Long-term use of Concor may result in unwanted side effects. In most cases, the drug is well tolerated. However, sometimes uncomfortable symptoms may appear:
- general weakness;
- insomnia;
- short-term memory loss;
- depression;
- hearing and vision impairment;
- exacerbation of symptoms of poor circulation or heart failure;
- disturbance of taste sensations;
- indigestion;
- stomach cramps;
- dermatological reactions (including exacerbation of psoriasis).
Most of these side effects appear when you start taking Concor for blood pressure. The patient’s well-being stabilizes within 2 weeks of using the medication.
special instructions
Concor for blood pressure is taken in long courses. The patient should not abruptly stop treatment or voluntarily refuse to take the drug. The dosage of the medication is reduced gradually, under the supervision of a cardiologist. During therapy, the following points are taken into account:
- the tablets do not affect the ability to drive a car or operate complex machinery. However, in the first days of use, this medicine for hypertension causes side effects, so you should refrain from driving during this period;
- Patients with bronchial pathology need to take drugs from the group of bronchodilators in parallel with blood pressure medications.
The active substance of the tablets increases the body's sensitivity to allergens. Therefore, during the course of taking the medication, you should follow a diet, and you can additionally take anti-allergy medications.
Features of use during pregnancy
During pregnancy, doctors rarely prescribe this drug. One of the decisive factors is determining the balance of benefit to the mother and harm to the embryo. After all, it can cause complications in the baby’s development:
- the medicine reduces the blood flow of the placenta, causing disruption of the nutrition and development of the embryo. Therefore, taking pills is prescribed if it is not possible to use another type of therapy;
- After the baby is born, he is carefully examined and monitored for 3-5 days. After all, taking the drug may cause hypoglycemia or a slow heart rate in a newborn.
There is no data on the concentration of the active substance that passes into breast milk. Therefore, during lactation you should avoid this medication.
Interaction with other drugs
Before starting to take the drug, you should consult a cardiologist. After all, bisoprolol interacts with the active ingredients of other drugs, enhancing or weakening their effect on the body:
- when taking the medication simultaneously with symptomatic drugs, the therapeutic effect of bisoprolol decreases;
- when taking tablets with Alpha-methyldop and Reserpine, a sharp reduction in the number of heart beats per minute is observed;
- with elevated blood glucose levels, bisoprolol enhances the effect of insulin, increasing the possibility of developing hypoglycemia. But at the same time, the active ingredient of the drug alleviates the symptoms of low sugar levels;
- Nifedipine enhances the effect of bisoprolol.
The cardiologist takes into account the patient’s concomitant pathologies and develops an individual medication regimen.
Terms of sale and analogues
The drug is presented in the pharmacy chain. But you can only buy it with a doctor's prescription. Analogs of the drug are available for sale, identical in composition and principle of action.
The instructions for these medications indicate at what pressure they should be taken, contraindications and side effects. The most popular analogues of the product are:
Before replacing the drug with an analogue, you should consult a cardiologist. After all, such a replacement is not always justified.
Reviews about the drug
Patient reviews of the medication are positive. Despite the impressive list of side effects, they occur in 10% of patients. This is an excellent medicine for high blood pressure and other pathologies of the cardiovascular system. According to patients, the only drawback is the long course of use (6 months or more). There are cases when tablets are recommended to be used for life.
It will be useful for people taking adrenergic blockers to know the difference between Concor and Concor Cor. The products can be considered analogues, since they are based on one active substance called bisoprolol.
It is used to treat hypertension, angina, ischemia and congestive heart failure. However, it would be more accurate to call these medications different pharmaceutical forms of the same product.
The drug is now available in three forms - 2.5 mg, 5 mg and 10 mg. Each of them has its own testimony. To understand the difference between Concor and Concor Cor, and not to get confused when buying a medicine at a pharmacy, you need to study the instructions for use in detail. Remember that you cannot prescribe the drug yourself! Only a specialist can select a safe dose that corresponds to the diagnosis.
Sinus tachycardia of the heart: what is it, main symptoms and treatment
Main characteristics
Have you been trying to cure HYPERTENSION for many years?
Head of the Institute of Treatment: “You will be amazed at how easy it is to cure hypertension by taking it every day...
Read more "
Sinus tachycardia is a form of arrhythmia, what does it mean? This type of tachycardia is caused by a disorder:
- generation of impulses by the sinus node, which controls heart rhythm;
- conduction of impulses from the sinus node to the ventricles.
In adults, the limit is considered to be a heart rate (HR) of 100 beats per minute. For children, this indicator is calculated by age, and a deviation is considered to be an excess of heart rate by 10% of the age norm.
With sinus tachycardia, the heart rate is 95–130 beats per minute (without exercise), 150–160 with exercise. For athletes, this figure can reach 180–240 beats.
Forms
There are functional and pathological (or long-term) forms.
Functional
Functional is understood as an acceleration of sinus rhythm in response to stress (physical or emotional) or fever. The heart rate returns to normal as soon as the cause is eliminated.
Pathological
The pathological form occurs at rest. It is caused by extracardial and intracardial factors.
Differences from other species
There are also paroxysmal tachycardia and ventricular fibrillation.
Sinus tachycardia differs from the paroxysmal form in that in the first case the attack begins suddenly, the heart rate is 120–250 beats per minute, while maintaining the correct rhythm during the attack.
With physiological sinus tachycardia, heart rate increases smoothly; the paroxysmal form is characterized by suddenness.
Ventricular fibrillation is a life-threatening condition in which blood is not pumped out of the heart and the organ stops working. In this case, a chaotic contraction of myocardial fibers occurs (250–480 beats per minute).
Usually the symptom occurs as a complication of extensive transmural myocardial infarction, as well as due to shock and severe potassium deficiency in the blood.
Development mechanism
Sinus tachycardia develops according to one of the scenarios:
- Activation of the symptomatic system, which is part of the nervous system. The substance norepinephrine from nerve fibers activates the sinus node.
- Decreased activity of the parasympathetic system. Its substance acetylcholine inhibits the generation of impulses, which leads to a decrease in heart rate. When the activity of the parasympathetic system decreases, the role of the sympathetic system increases, resulting in an increase in heart rate.
- Direct impact of influencing factors on the sinoatrial node during normal functioning of the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system. Active substances act on impulse-generating cells and excite them.
Causes
The symptom occurs more often in young people. The reason for this is the immaturity of the nervous system. The body needs a balance of the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. But at a young age, the balance is poorly maintained, so imbalances arise, which causes an attack (cardioneurosis).
Hypertension will go away, and the pressure will be 120 over 80 if you include it in the diet...
Hypertension will disappear forever! Here's the secret...
Extracardiac factors include:
- Neurogenic - develops in individuals (usually young women) with an unstable nervous system, with a tendency to neuroses, depression, etc., which is explained by the high sensitivity of heart receptors to stress hormones.
- Toxic - caused by toxic substances - alcohol, tobacco, as well as internal factors (thyrotoxicosis, adrenal tumor - pheochromocytoma, more often manifested in women), chronic infections (tuberculosis, tonsillitis).
- Medicinal - occurs due to activity or overdose. This is how hormonal drugs, drugs for the treatment of lung diseases, hypertension, and antidepressants affect the body.
- Hypoxic - this is how the body reacts to oxygen deficiency. In turn, the cause of hypoxia is diseases of the respiratory system and blood pathologies, in which the delivery of gas to organs and systems is disrupted (anemia, leukemia, chronic blood loss, etc.).
Intracardiac factors are caused by heart disease. Often (but not always) the development of sinus tachycardia in people with heart disease indicates heart failure or impaired left ventricular function, since then there is a decrease in ejection fraction or a clinically significant deterioration of hemodynamics within the heart.
Most often, the intracardial form of TS develops with the following pathologies:
- chronic heart failure;
- angina attack due to ischemic heart disease;
- cardiomyopathy;
- myocardial infarction;
- acute myocarditis.
Find out more about the disease from the video:
Symptoms
During an attack of sinus tachycardia, the patient may experience the following symptoms:
- “fluttering” of the heart, rapid heart rate;
- dyspnea;
- heaviness, “tightness” in the chest (occurs when there is no load);
- dizziness, loss of consciousness;
- compressive chest pain (no longer than 5 minutes) - with coronary heart disease;
- general weakness, decreased performance, intolerance to physical activity (in the pathological form).
Diagnostics
A complete picture of the severity of the condition is obtained after the examination. Diagnostic activities include:
- anamnesis analysis - the patient is asked to describe sensations, possible cause-and-effect relationships, the presence of chronic diseases, living conditions, bad habits, etc.;
- physical examination - examine the skin, study the condition of hair and nails;
- auscultation - the respiratory rate, wheezing and heart murmurs are determined, which makes it possible to identify the cause of the pathology;
- general blood test - shows anemia, leukocyte level (increases with chronic disease);
- biochemical blood test - gives an idea of the level of cholesterol (low and high density), glucose, potassium, creatine, urea, allows you to exclude diabetes mellitus, kidney disease, changes in the chemical composition of the blood;
- urinalysis (general) - excludes diseases of the urinary tract;
- hormonal analysis - to determine the level of hormones produced by the thyroid gland;
- echocardiography (echocardiography) - detects structural changes.
The main and most informative study is electrocardiography, or ECG, as well as a Holter electrocardiogram (recording is carried out continuously for 24–72 hours, at rest and during exercise).
ECG signs of sinus tachycardia are presented in this illustration:
The patient is prescribed consultations with a psychotherapist, otolaryngologist, and other specialists.
How and with what to treat
The main goal of treatment is to eliminate the cause of the attacks, since sinus angina is a symptom of other ailments. Therapy is selected and prescribed by a cardiologist.
Correction of daily routine and habits
This block of activities includes:
- giving up bad habits - drinking alcohol, drugs, smoking;
- diet correction - patients are recommended to eat foods rich in fiber and give up fatty, hot, spicy foods, reduce the amount of coffee and tea;
- adherence to sleep and rest patterns.
Elimination of chronic diseases
If the examination reveals that the cause of tachycardia is an infection, then treatment is aimed at eliminating it. The patient is prescribed sanitation for diseases of the oral cavity, removal of a diseased tooth or inflamed tonsils, and antibiotic therapy.
In case of iron deficiency and anemia, it is recommended to take medications with this element; in case of bleeding, the administration of solutions is recommended to restore the volume of the blood mass.
Prescribed drugs
Medicines to eliminate the tachycardia itself are prescribed when the patient cannot tolerate the rapid heartbeat. For sinus tachycardia, the following drugs are used:
- beta blockers - block receptors that respond to the stress hormones adrenaline and norepinephrine;
- if-channel inhibitors - control the degree of excitation in the sinus node, heart rate;
- sedatives based on medicinal plants - motherwort, valerian root, hawthorn.
Recovery
The patient may be indicated for spa treatment in Kislovodsk and other health resorts if the cause is intracardial factors. In other cases, rehabilitation measures depend on the underlying disease.
It is recommended to follow these rules:
- eliminate intense emotional stress - at home and at work;
- sleep 8 hours a day;
- eat right, avoiding spicy and fatty foods;
- eat vegetables, herbs, fish (especially sea fish) every day;
- give up bad habits;
- do gymnastics (at least 30 minutes daily);
- control body weight.
Controversial techniques
Doctors argue about whether it is possible to take cardiac glycosides for sinus tachycardia. This applies in particular to digoxin. According to the Russian method, a combination of beta blockers and digoxin, sometimes with calcium antagonists, achieves clear control over heart rate.
The range of drugs for the treatment of tachycardia is limited, since it may have side effects with long-term therapy. If drug therapy is not possible, resort to electrical stimulation of the myocardium.
Forecast
The prognosis is quite serious if sinus tachycardia is a symptom of heart failure or left ventricular dysfunction. Then the course of the disease worsens.
It is important to remember that sinus tachycardia can be a manifestation of other ailments. But in childhood, pregnancy and adolescence this is often the norm. Then the medications can be harmful.
Therefore, taking any action on your own is prohibited. Only a specialist can determine the degree of danger and the advisability of prescribing medications after an extensive examination.
Comparison
Before using one of the medications, you need to understand how they differ from each other.
Similarities
Common to the drugs are:
- Compound. The active ingredient of the drug is bisoprolol fumarate. The list of additional components consists of anhydrous calcium hydrogen phosphate, corn starch in the form of fine powder, magnesium stearate, crospovidone, anhydrous colloidal silicon dioxide.
- Method of administration. Medicines are taken once a day at the same time of day (in the morning). Do this during breakfast, before or after it. The tablets are swallowed immediately, without chewing or crushing. The dosage of drugs is determined by the doctor based on the diagnosis.
Contraindications, side effects, drug interactions, use during pregnancy and breastfeeding - all this is common to both drugs.
During treatment with bisoprolol, the simultaneous use of antihypertensive drugs and class 1 antiarrhythmic drugs is not recommended. Parasympathomimetics, hypoglycemic agents, topical β-blockers, class 3 antiarrhythmic drugs, non-selective adrenergic agonists, cardiac glycosides, NSAIDs, MAO inhibitors and mefloquine should be used with caution.
Medicines are not prescribed in the following cases:
- individual intolerance to bisoprolol or additional components;
- acute heart failure;
- decompensated CHF, which requires inotropic therapy;
- severe arterial hypotension;
- atrioventricular block of degree III and II without pacemaker;
- severe bradycardia;
- severe bronchial asthma;
- cardiogenic shock;
- sinoatrial block;
- pheochromocytoma (in people not taking alpha-blockers);
- SSS (sick sinus syndrome);
- metabolic acidosis;
- disorders in the circulatory system (Raynaud's syndrome);
- adolescence, childhood (under 18 years).
Medicines are used with caution in desensitizing therapy, Prinzmetal's angina, psoriasis, diabetes mellitus (type 1, as well as with severe fluctuations in blood sugar), severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, restrictive cardiomyopathy, hyperthyroidism, severe renal failure, CHF with myocardial infarction the last 3 months, AV blockade degree I, severe liver dysfunction, strict diet, congenital heart defects or heart valve disease with severe hemodynamic disturbances.
The use of bisoprolol during pregnancy is permitted if the expected benefit for the woman is higher than the risk of side effects in the fetus. During therapy, the development of the unborn child, blood flow in the uterus and placenta should be monitored. The appearance of any adverse events should be a reason to discontinue therapy and select an analogue.
You can also use medications after childbirth. However, before starting treatment, the newborn must be switched to artificial formula.
During therapy, adverse reactions from the central nervous system, psyche, digestive tract and other body systems may occur. Overdose is characterized by cardiac arrhythmia, decreased blood pressure, development of hypoglycemia, acute heart failure and AV block. A patient who suspects an overdose should stop treatment and consult a doctor to eliminate the symptoms that appear.
What is the difference?
Medicines are analogues, but there is still a difference between them. It is as follows:
- Content of active substance. Concor contains 5 or 10 mg of bisoprolol, while its analogue contains 2.5 mg.
- Indications for use. A dosage of 2.5 mg is recommended for chronic heart failure. A drug with a higher content of the active component can be used to treat CHF, persistent increase in blood pressure (hypertension) and stable angina.
Which is cheaper?
The more bisoprolol contained in the tablets, the higher their cost.
Concor costs 150-500 rubles. per package, and its analogue - 130-160 rubles.
The price of the medicine depends on the content of the active substance and the number of tablets in the pack.
Doctors' opinion
According to experts, there is no significant difference between the drugs. When choosing a medication, several parameters are taken into account:
- patient's age;
- gender;
- established diagnosis;
- stage of the pathological process - acute or chronic.
Doctors say that both pharmaceutical drugs are unique because they can be combined with other types of antihypertensive therapy. The attending physician will tell you what is best to use in therapy.
What is this medicine?
“Concor” is the trade name of the drug from the German manufacturer Merck, the active ingredient of which is bisoprolol fumarate. It is classified as a drug that is part of the group of selective adrenergic blockers that have a complex effect on the cardiovascular system. This medication has antiarrhythmic, hypotensive and antianginal effects. The medicine functions as follows:
- Makes blood vessels elastic and less permeable.
- Reduces the need for oxygen in the heart muscle.
- In minute terms, it reduces the volume of blood that circulates through the heart.
- Reduces myocardial excitability along with atrioventricular conduction.
This effect helps reduce heartbeat when the rhythm of the organ is disturbed and reduces blood pressure.
We will talk about the side effects of Concor with long-term use later. For now, let's look at the instructions.
Indications and contraindications for use
Concor has indications for use similar to bisoprolol - arterial hypertension, tachycardia, chronic heart failure, angina pectoris. Taking Concor is contraindicated in the following cases:
- Acute heart failure;
- CHF in the decompensated stage, in which it is necessary to use drugs with a positive inotropic effect;
- The presence of 2-3 degree AV blockade without a pacemaker, as well as sinoatrial blockade;
- Severe hypotension;
- Pathologies of blood microcirculation, in particular Raynaud's syndrome;
- Decrease in heart rate less than 60 beats/s;
- The presence of individual intolerance to Concor components or allergic reactions;
- The presence of pathologies of the respiratory system of the obstructive type, including those with previous diseases;
- Age less than 18 years.
It is recommended to use the drug with caution in the presence of Prinzmetal's angina, an excessively enlarged thyroid gland, congenital heart defects, psoriasis, renal and hepatic pathologies (in particular, acute failure), and a myocardial infarction suffered earlier than 3 months ago. It is not recommended to use the drug during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Similar recommendations apply to people who have diabetes or have significant fluctuations in their blood sugar levels. In the above cases, the drug should be taken only as prescribed by a doctor, subject to the use of alpha and beta blockers.
In the vast majority of cases, people leave only positive reviews about using Concor. The medicine is very effective and copes well with both tachycardia and other associated pathologies. Information on irecommend and otzovik indicates that the medicine is of great help to both older and younger people.

The only drawback noted by all users who have taken the drug is the large number of side effects. Note that in practice, side effects are possible only in cases of unsystematic or incorrect use of the drug. Parallel use of the drug with other medications is also important.
Reduces heart rate.
Side effects.
"Concor Cor" is a selective beta-blocker.
It has a heart-shaped, white, biconvex film-coated tablet with a score line on both sides.
From time to time, attacks of heartbeat (tachycardia) appear, and in this case you have to resort to medications if you also have a high pulse.
"Concor Cor" - began to be taken as prescribed by a doctor, and this drug should be strictly followed under the supervision of a doctor - in order to avoid the opposite effect in the form of angina pectoris (side effects).
If the pulse is high with normal pressure, then not only the heartbeat may decrease, but also the blood pressure, so in this case hypotension and bradycardia are possible, so Concor Cor should be taken with caution.
“Concor-cor” itself took several days, in a course regimen for 10 days, after a few days I noticed an improvement, the heartbeat really decreased, but on the other hand, with constant use, side effects appear in the form of low blood pressure and bradycardia.
If “Concor-cor” is taken for a long time, that is, constantly, then you should NEVER quit abruptly in order to avoid withdrawal syndrome and worse results.
To avoid withdrawal symptoms and worse results, the drug should be stopped gradually, reducing the dose of the medication, but not sharply.
Be healthy!
Time of use: 2 courses.
General impression. By the way, for tachycardia.
Arrhythmia is a fairly common heart disease in which the heart rate is abnormal. A person suffering from arrhythmia feels a sinking heart or, conversely, an increase in the frequency of its beats. Medicines for cardiac arrhythmia are prescribed only by a doctor. You must first undergo examinations such as ECD, Holter monitoring and others. Which medications you can take depends on the type of arrhythmia.
Medicines for tachycardia
With tachycardia, the heart rate is above 90 beats per minute.
1. In this case, hawthorn, elecampane, and valerian tincture are prescribed. Corvalol for cardiac arrhythmia quite effectively helps reduce the heart rate.
2. In especially severe cases, it is recommended to take drugs such as verapamil, lidocaine, digoxin, etmozin, propranolol, rhythmilene. It is forbidden to take strong drugs on your own. They must certainly be prescribed by the attending physician after the examination.
3. Tea with lemon balm, infusion of hawthorn flowers and motherwort herbs are suitable as folk remedies for the treatment of tachycardia.
Medicines for bradycardia
With this disease, there is a slowing of the heart rate. The heart beats at a frequency of no more than 60 beats per minute.
1. You can speed up the work of the heart with the help of medications such as atropine, atenolol, aminophylline, alupent. They cannot be taken on their own. All of the drugs listed are quite potent and, if taken incorrectly, can cause harm to the body.
2. You can speed up the work of the heart with the help of folk remedies. In this case, decoctions of yarrow and young tops of pine branches are suitable for the treatment of bradycardia. It is also recommended to eat a lot of nuts and a mixture of lemon and garlic.
Medicines for atrial fibrillation
Atrial fibrillation is characterized by chaotic contractions of both atria.
1. Allapinin for arrhythmias helps normalize heart function. You can also take amiodarone, disopyramide, sotalol, etacizine, quinidine, propafenone. In addition, Concor is taken for arrhythmia. This drug has a long shelf life, but is expensive. As a cheaper analogue, you can use bis-sagamma.
2. Folk remedies for atrial fibrillation can be taken without fear. The following will help to cope with an attack: hawthorn tincture, valerian rhizomes, trifoliate, peppermint collection, calendula flower tincture, eleutherococcus extract.
Medicines for extrasystole
Extrasystole refers to premature contractions of the heart.
1. You can fight this heart disease by taking the following medications: oxprenolol, pindolol, atenalol, propranolol, metoprolol, sotalol, amiodarone, talinolol. Medications are prescribed only by a doctor.
2. For those who prefer traditional medicine, this disease can be treated with infusions of valerian, calendula flowers, cornflower, lemon balm and horsetail. In addition, you can take hawthorn for arrhythmia and decoctions of adonis, rosehip seeds, and valerian.
The drug "Concor" is recommended to be taken in therapy:
- arterial hypertension (hypertension);
- for ischemic heart disease with the prevention and relief of angina attacks;
- chronic cardiac dysfunction.
Contraindications to the use of this medication are:
- individual intolerance to bisoprolol or other components of the drug;
- acute heart failure;
- pheochromocytoma;
- metabolic acidosis;
- severe bronchial asthma;
- low blood pressure, bradycardia;
- various disturbances in the passage of impulses through the heart;
- cardiogenic shock;
- organ circulatory disorders;
- Raynaud's disease.
Interaction with other drugs
If Concor is taken simultaneously with other drugs, you must remember that undesirable consequences often occur.
- when Concor is used with drugs that lower blood pressure, their effect is greatly enhanced;
- with simultaneous use of the drug with clonidine, methyldopa, moxonidine, rilmenidine in a sick person, the heart rate (HR) is greatly reduced;
- when taken with beta-adrenergic agonists (isoprenaline, dobutamine, etc.), the effect of both drugs is sharply reduced;
- if you use Nifedipine with Concor, the person will experience severe hypotension and impaired cardiac contractility;
- when using Concor with Verapamil, blood pressure decreases significantly and heart rate decreases, and if one of the drugs is abruptly discontinued, a significant jump in blood pressure occurs;
- the use of Concor with injections or insulin tablets leads to a sharp decrease in blood sugar.
pharmachologic effect
Concor belongs to the group of selective or cardioselective beta1-blockers; in moderate amounts it does not have ICA (intrinsic sympathomimetic activity).
The medication does not restore the structure and properties of cell membranes.
Concor moderately lowers blood pressure by reducing heart rate. Which means an increase in the period of relaxation of the heart muscle - the myocardium, during which the organ replenishes its need for oxygen, since during compression the muscle tissue is not supplied with O2.
If the medication is taken for a long time, the patient's increased total peripheral vascular resistance (TPVR) to blood flow decreases. This means that impaired capillary circulation will be restored.
The drug stabilizes the heart rhythm. Suppresses the SAS and RAAS (sympathoadrenal and renin-angiotensin-aldosterone systems), which improves the condition of the patient with chronic heart failure.
The effect of taking Concor appears after one or three hours and lasts for the next 24 hours.
For arterial hypertension, the effect of the medication begins after two to five days. Complete stability in the condition occurs after one to two months.
Pharmacological information about the drug
In the vast majority of cases, people leave only positive reviews about using Concor. The medicine is very effective and copes well with both tachycardia and other associated pathologies. Information on irecommend and otzovik indicates that the medicine is of great help to both older and younger people.
The only drawback noted by all users who have taken the drug is the large number of side effects. Note that in practice, side effects are possible only in cases of unsystematic or incorrect use of the drug. Parallel use of the drug with other medications is also important.
Composition, properties and mechanism of operation
Patients of any age, over 18 years old, can take Concor for high blood pressure and tachycardic surges. The drug is based on the substance bisoprolol, which provides greater bioavailability and good pharmacokinetics, and quick results. You can buy the pharmaceutical in tablet form, with a dosage of 5 or 10 mg. The transverse groove on the tablet allows it to be conveniently divided in half if the doctor prescribes lower doses. The medicine belongs to the group of beta-blockers and helps to lower renin, which leads to a decrease in blood pressure during a surge.

Special instructions for the use of blood pressure tablets
The drug is prescribed by the attending physician, and the dosage is selected empirically, starting with the minimum therapeutic dose. Do not suddenly stop taking the drug or increase the amount. During the first two weeks, it is necessary to monitor blood pressure readings, as well as blood sugar levels. Concor can be taken by patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus who do not take insulin.
Antihypertensive drugs should be prescribed with caution to patients on a strict diet or to people with severe allergic reactions. Bisoprolol, which is the basis of the composition of Concor tablets, increases the sensitivity of the body and aggravates the manifestation of allergic reactions.
The presence of obliterating endarteritis in a patient can increase the number of adverse reactions during the first two weeks of taking the medicine. The drug is actively used before the patient is put under general anesthesia and helps to endure tracheal intubation, as well as the postoperative period. If preoperative use of beta-blockers is undesirable, then the dosage is reduced gradually and discontinued two days before surgery.
The active substance bisoprolol is a selective beta blocker and has less effect on the respiratory tract. But there is a possible risk of exacerbation of COPD or bronchial asthma due to bronchospasm. Sometimes symptoms such as coughing and shortness of breath during physical activity appear. Symptoms require additional prescription of bronchodilators.
The treatment process with Concor takes a long time
The product is not recommended for use in the development of psoriasis. The drug "Concor" is not recommended for use in patients with adrenal tumors, namely pheochromocytoma. Therapy should begin with central adrenergic blockers, and bisoprolol should be used as an adjuvant. Taking medication can mask the first manifestations of thyrotoxicosis.
If there is a risk of developing pathology, you need to monitor the level of T4 (thyroxine) in the blood. The drug should not be used by professional athletes.
Review of drugs for the treatment of tachycardia
Many expectant mothers are interested in the question: is it possible to take Concor during pregnancy? And this is not surprising, because during this period a woman should take her health as seriously as possible. Before starting any medications, she needs to see a doctor who will assess the balance of benefits and harms from such treatment. This rule also applies to the drug Concor. What are the indications for its use? Is it possible to take it while pregnant?
general information
Concor tablets look like small hearts. The main active ingredient is bisoprolol hemifumarate.
Among the auxiliary ones we can highlight:
- magnesium stearate;
- crospovidone;
- cellulose;
- silicon dioxide;
- corn starch;
- calcium hydrogen phosphate.
According to the instructions, Concor affects the cardiac nerve endings, which are most sensitive to the action of adrenaline. During stressful situations, blood vessels narrow greatly, resulting in an increase in blood pressure. The substances that make up the drug slow down the “work” of adrenaline, thereby eliminating tachycardia and lowering blood pressure.
Concor tablets are prescribed in several cases:
- Chronic form of heart failure.
- Unstable heart rhythm.
- Mitral valve prolapse.
- Tachycardia.
- Hypertension.
- Some types of extrasystole. This is a condition in which the heart or its parts are unstable.
- Ischemia.
There are cases when taking Concor tablets is strictly contraindicated:
- Intolerance to one of the components included in the composition.
- Blood pressure too low.
- Blood circulation disorders.
- Acidosis.
- Asthma.
- Cardiogenic shock. This is a condition in which the myocardium loses its ability to contract. The result is a disruption of the blood supply to almost all organs and tissues of the body.
- Sick sinus syndrome. This is a pathology characterized by heart rhythm disturbances.
- Raynaud's disease. A disease whose main symptom is spasm of blood vessels and, as a result, disruption of the blood circulation process.
Side effects may occur while taking the drug. They affect many organs and systems of the body.
- Feeling of numbness and coldness in the arms and legs.
- Angina and bradycardia.
- Headache and dizziness.
- Depression, sleep problems.
- Conjunctivitis, visual impairment.
- Allergic runny nose.
- Bronchospasm.
- Nausea and vomiting, bowel dysfunction.
- Muscle weakness, cramps.
- Men have problems with potency.
- Itching, excessive sweating, redness of the skin.
- Agranulocytosis, thrombocytopenia, increased levels of ALT and AST.
Pregnancy is a time when you need to take your health as seriously as possible. Those medications that could be taken before conception can lead to irreparable problems in the development of the child. What can you say about Concor?
As mentioned above, this medicine is mainly prescribed in the treatment of diseases of the cardiovascular system. You need to drink it according to the regimen drawn up by your doctor. A single dose is calculated depending on the severity of the disease and the severity of symptoms.
Sometimes during pregnancy, the use of Concor may seem quite acceptable. This applies to cases when a woman’s blood pressure rises. However, it is better not to take risks. It is not known exactly how Concor works during pregnancy. Only one thing has been proven - it negatively affects blood flow in the placenta. And this, in turn, leads to pathologies in the development of the fetus.
If the doctor decides that the use of Concor cannot be avoided, you should pay attention to several points:
- If treatment is carried out in the third trimester, it should be stopped approximately three days before the expected date of birth.
- The newborn should be examined as soon as possible. Some children whose mothers took Concor tablets during pregnancy may develop bradycardia and hypoglycemia.
- It is also not recommended to take the product during breastfeeding. Otherwise, lactation should be stopped.
It is up to the attending physician to decide whether it is worth or not to be treated with the drug.
Each person has an individual heartbeat rhythm. Stressful situations, grief, melancholy increase the number of contractions of the heart muscle. People describe their feelings with one phrase - “the heart is ready to jump out of the chest.” This condition is a physiological norm.

But if there are no apparent reasons for the rapid heartbeat, and the number of heart beats in an adult reaches 90 beats per minute or more, doctors may suspect tachycardia.

To confirm the diagnosis, an examination will be required. Based on its results, tablets for tachycardia are prescribed as part of complex treatment.
General information
An attack of tachycardia causes chaotic contractions of the heart, which causes disruption of blood flow to the ventricles of the organ. If you ignore palpitations that occur for no apparent reason, the risk of developing heart failure increases.
When prescribing medications for tachycardia, the doctor must take into account the reasons that caused the increase in heart rate.
For the sinus type of disease, caused by stress or excessive physical activity, it is advisable to use sedative medications, for example, Seduxen, Relanium. If ventricular tachycardia is diagnosed, the patient is prescribed antiarrhythmic drugs.
Oral medication is excluded if a person has paroxysmal tachycardia. To stabilize the patient’s condition as quickly as possible, it is better to administer medications prescribed by the doctor intravenously. With the bloodstream they will go directly to the heart.
During the period of bearing a child, the female body experiences increased stress. That is why tachycardia is often diagnosed in pregnant women.
The most common cause is nervousness. In this case, the expectant mother should calm down and visit more often where there is a source of good mood. It is important to remember that attacks of rapid heartbeat are very dangerous for the development of the unborn child.
The list of drugs approved for pregnant women is extremely limited. To improve the functioning of the heart, the doctor may prescribe the following medications:
- “Panangin”, “Magne B6” - contain magnesium, which has a positive effect on the condition of the heart muscle;
- “Valerian”, “Motherwort” - have a sedative effect;
- “Propranolol”, “Verapamil” - help regulate the impulse of the heart muscle, reducing it to natural levels.
The given list is conditional. The exact prescription must be made exclusively by a doctor.
Patients whose history, in addition to tachycardia, includes low blood pressure, should always have medications prescribed by a doctor in their home medicine cabinet in order to quickly take them during an attack and avoid cerebral edema.
Often, medicine for tachycardia lowers blood pressure. This significantly narrows the range of medications recommended for use.
In case of diagnosed arterial hypotension, the following are prescribed to regulate the heartbeat:
- "Grandaxin", which has a calming effect;
- "Mezapam", which reduces the excitement of the nervous system;
- "Phenazepam", which has anticonvulsant properties.
In patients with tachycardia and high blood pressure, prescribed medications should reduce cerebral vascular spasm. This will avoid minor and major hemorrhages.
Unsystematic use of medications entails not only disruption of the heart, but also the development of depression and apathy.
Cases of simultaneous manifestation of symptoms of tachycardia and hypertension are extremely rare. However, leaving them without medical attention is very life-threatening.
Among the medications indicated for taking are:
- "Diroton";
- "Corinfar";
- "Enap";
- "Verapamil."
These medications can simultaneously improve the heartbeat and gradually reduce blood pressure.
It is impossible to improve the functioning of the heart without maintaining sufficient levels of vitamins and microelements in the body. Their lack negatively affects the state of the nervous system, which makes a person more often nervous and worried. Add to this physical inactivity and poor nutrition and you get a heartbeat disorder.
The work of the heart is positively affected by:
- selenium - provides protection to vascular walls and heart tissue;
- potassium - normalizes nerve impulses;
- phosphorus - responsible for the transmission of impulses.
Not only microelements, but also vitamins are needed to restore heart rhythm and prevent tachycardia.
However, even with adequate nutrition, it is impossible to cover the daily need for vitamins and minerals solely with food, so it is recommended to take special medications.
Tachycardia and arrhythmia are interrelated conditions. They should be treated exclusively under the supervision of a specialist. Only detailed examinations will allow you to correctly prescribe pills for tachycardia and heart rhythm disturbances.
The problem of restoring rhythm is solved with the help of drugs that are formed into such groups.
Concor is a beta-blocking drug that is widely used in medical practice. The range of diseases for which this drug is prescribed is very wide - almost all major cardiac diseases, including tachycardia. Concor is the trade name of bisoprolol, a selective adrenergic blocker that is characterized by high efficiency and potency.
The drug has an antiarrhythmic, hypotensive and antianginal effect, significantly reduces the contractility of the heart muscle by reducing heart rate and inhibiting cAMP. During the first days after administration, an increase in cardiac output is observed, which returns to normal after 2-3 days. Within therapeutic dosages, the drug helps well against tachycardia, but does not have a cardiodepressive effect, does not retain sodium ions and does not affect metabolism involving glucose.
Which is better of the two drugs?
Patients suffering from pathologies of the heart and blood vessels often ask - which is better, Concor or Concor Cor? It's impossible to say which is better. Concor differs from Concor Cor in the amount of active ingredient, so the products are prescribed on an individual basis. The dose is determined by the doctor and depends on the patient’s diagnosis.
Both drugs work the same way:
- lower blood pressure levels;
- reduce heart rate;
- stabilize the heartbeat rhythm;
- reduce the risk of heart attack.
Concor differs from Concor Cor in that the former has a smaller dosage of bisoprolol and therefore its effect is less pronounced. A low-dose drug is more often prescribed for the treatment of CHF, so as not to harm the patient. When purchasing a medicine at a pharmacy, you must carefully inspect the packaging so as not to confuse the medicines and accidentally increase the dose.
With a gradual increase in dosage during the treatment of CHF, you can gradually switch to the drug 5 or 10 mg. In this case, taking the medication daily will be more convenient, and the patient will only need to take one tablet per day.
The 2.5 mg product can be taken when a specialist has prescribed a dose of 7.5 mg of bisoprolol per day. Instead of breaking the tablets in half, it is more convenient to take three low-dose tablets. During the withdrawal period, the doctor may also prescribe a drug with a low dose of the active substance.
Increasing the dose without a doctor's recommendation can cause side effects - increased heart rate, a sharp decrease in blood pressure, hypoglycemia and exacerbation of heart failure.
In the event that, when treating ischemia, hypertension or angina, a low-dose form is mistakenly purchased, the drug simply will not have the desired effect. A sharp reduction in dose can also lead to a deterioration in heart function.
You should not prescribe the drug yourself, as this can be fraught with dangerous consequences. In the event that the dose seems to the patient to be too high, which makes him feel worse, or, conversely, too low, you should consult your doctor.
